Calling home

"I wan to see proof that you are mine."  Despite my trembling lips I managed to force the question past my lip. "What kind of proof do you need?"  His lips curled into an evil grin, and I could tell he knew just what was running through my mind. "I don't know something that we both want." "What could that possibly be?" I cried. He chuckled and pulled me closer to him as if I was not already close enough. "You're all tense," he said in a much calmer tone. "relax."  Of course, it's not like your very presence is already unnerving. "We are not going to do anything you do not want to do." he continued, "Remember that." "Well, I was not exactly begging to be locked in a dungeon and punished," I said ruefully.  He barked out a burst of laughter that showed his white, and perfectly arranged teeth. "If you keep tempting me, with your sharp mouth, I will take ut as you begging to be punished. Now, where were we?' he asked, and I had to make a conscious effort to stop myself from rolling my eyes. "You said you would not touch me without my approval."  "And I will not," he said sharply. "But I think you owe me something I want now." "I have no idea what that is." I lied.  "I know you do, but that's okay. When you figure it out and give it to me, the phone is right there." he gestured to the table, where a message just popped up on the screen. he released his hold on me and leaned back on the headboard.  "You might want to remember we do not have all day," he said, as he crossed his hand behind his head. My eyes drifted to the phone vibrating with a call. From where I sat on his lap, I could not tell who it was, but I could only imagine it was either my parents or my best friend. "Why are you making me do this?" I asked.  "I thought it would be obvious, but since it isn't, I'm doing this because I want you and because I can do what I want to do," he said with a smug grin.  "You do not force someone when you want them."  "I'd like to think of it as persuading you because, in the end, the choice is yours. You can decide to kiss me, or not. I will not force you to, in fact, if you do not want to, all you have to do is stand up and leave." "Why give me a choice when you know I won't take it?"  He chuckled but did not answer my question. "You were not so hesitant earlier,"  That was true. I had never taken the first step with anyone before. It was always them hovering around me. I was willing though to take the first step back at the art room, maybe it was the excitement and gratitude coursing through me at the time, or maybe it was the fact that I was not tensed by seeing him almost murder someone. The phone vibrated a third time, and that was all it took to spur me on. "Okay, I'll do what you want as long as I get to talk to my family." "You know what to do." he shrugged, not moving an inch. "Well, you can at least make it easier for me," I frowned.  "No baby, this is all you," he said in a tone too calm for my liking at the moment.  Well here goes nothing I thought. At least he was a good kisser, right? And if I was being honest with myself, a part of him that was not so upset wanted more than anything to press my lips to his, and get lost in his sinful mouth.  I closed my eyes, and leaned down, placing my hand on his broad chest. "Eyes open," he commanded in a gruff voice. When I opened my eyes, he had the smuggest grin on his face, and I would give anything to wipe it off.  A big hand came around my waist, hauling me above his groin. That was all the encouragement I needed, and I leaned down, capturing his face between my hand, so I could bring my mouth to his.  I pressed my lips against him, tentatively at first, savoring the warmth and masculinity of his mouth. He did not return the kiss at first and I considered pulling back, but that was a harder option given how long it had taken to get here.  I started to move my hips in slow circles, and although my movements were slow and subtle, I got the result I expected. He groaned as he tightened his grip on me with one hand and pushed me down to his sturdy chest with the other.  Finally, I was rewarded as his lips started to move against mine in a mind-melting kiss. I found myself moaning, as he coaxed my mouth wider, pushing his tongue inside my mouth, and sucking mine in his.  I stiffened as the hard bulge of his c**k in his pants brushed against my thighs, and my movements came to a halt. I broke the kiss and pushed myself off him, but he held me back down.  "I did not say we were done yet." his voice was deep and husky, and it sent a shudder through my body.  "Yoy said just a kiss," I whispered.  "I did," he said with his eyes locked on mine. "But that was hardly a kiss." "Adrian, I don't want..."  My words were cut off, as his large hand pushed me lower and before I could protest any further, he smashed his lips into mine so hard I tasted the faintest trace of blood.  His or mine didn't know and didn't care either.  He brought the hand on my back down to my hips, and ground me against his hardened erection, as his tongue lashed out devouring my mouth. A noise came out of me, and I felt his mouth on my neck, as he trailed one hand under my jacket, desperately searching.  When he found his prize, he fondled my breast in his hands and brought his lips back to mine. "Too many clothes," he murmured against my lips. My entire focus was on his touch while faint alarm bells went off in the back of my head. None of them made any sense though. It felt so good. Did this mean we were going to sleep together now? I could see myself going down this path with him, but that didn’t change who he was. I had never come so close to anyone, and much less someone like Adrian. A man that murdered without thinking twice. I froze as an image of the blood on his face and arms that night flashed across my mind.  "Relax," he ordered, hands still holding my breasts. I ripped my mouth away from his as I gasped. Oh my god. That was insane. Sadly reality was even more insane. I pulled my head back so his eyes met mine. I could see fire in his gaze and the temptation to match. “I can’t,” I whispered, using my hand on his shoulder to hold myself up.  He retracted his hand from my jacket and brought both hands to my waist, a more decent spot compared to where they were earlier. "That's fine."  "I'm scared of you" I whispered, trying to explain why I stopped, even though I really did not owe him one.  "That's good."  How he could switch from dangerously hot kisser to asshole so quickly was amazing. "I'm not ready to do this, not with you," I said honestly.  "I was not bluffing when I said I'll only f**k you when I have your full consent. You will come to me when the time is right, but I will still punish you when you're being a bad girl." he brushed the pad of his thumb against my lip. "You know that right?" I nodded, without saying a word. As much as I hated the thought of being punished by him, I loved the fact that he was not going to force me to have s*x with him. At least I could hope to walk out of here in a few months the same way I came in.  "And since you were such a good girl doing as told," he pushed my hair from my face, with a smile. "You can have your phone back."  My eyes widened in excitement. "Really?"  "Yes really. But there are rules. You can only have the numbers that are saved on the phone. No one else's. They are my number, Andreson's, your dad's, and your friend."  "Thank you so much," I cried.  "I think your parents are going to call till the battery is dead," he said nodding to the phone on the table that was vibrating again.  "I should take that," I moved to crawl off his lap.  "Say hello to my father-in-law," he said tauntingly, with a smirk, earning a glare from me.  I was already halfway off his lap when he held me back and yanked me down. The next kiss was wild, leaving me frantic, and shaking. I felt like I would explode with excitement any second, and when he pulled away, it felt too soon.  The dazed look on my face was enough to leave him with an amused smile. And I shook my head trying to come back to the moment. "Go," he commanded.  "Hey Dad," I said into the phone, in a quiet tone.  "Princess," my dad's voice filtered through the phone, filled with emotion, that only deepened the sadness I already felt. "Is that Nicole?" I could hear mom's voice calling from a distance.  "How are you, princess?" Dad asked. "Good," I lied because the truth was that I missed my parents more than anything in the world. And talking to them only reminded me of how much I ached to be with them again. "How are you and how's mom?"  "Baby," mom called, following a scrambling noise on their end. I could tell mom was trying to pry the phone from dad. "How are you baby? Are they treating you right? Did he hurt you? Did he force himself on you? Talk to me baby?" she rattled off question after question, her voice frantic, and shaky. I could tell she had been crying a lot from the croaky sound of her voice, and I had to assure her I was fine, to put her mind at ease.  "Mom, breathe," I said calmly.  "I am breathing just fine," she retorted. "just tell me you're okay my child."  "I am fine mom." I looked up at Adrian who was focused on some paperwork at the table on the other side of the room. He looked like his attention was invested completely in the paper in his hand, but for the life of me, I knew he was listening to every single word I said.  A normal human would have given me some time alone to speak to my parents, but when did Adrian become normal? "Adrian is treating me really well," or at least when he does not have me locked in that awful dungeon.  "Are you lying?"  "No mom. He does not hurt me, in fact, we have barely seen each other since we arrived," I lied. "I got to meet with his brother Anderson. He's really nice, and the house is really comfy, and everything is just perfect."  Most of the things I had just said were lies, but I was not about to tell my parents anything that was going to make them more stressed and worried than they already were. Especially mom. She was more fragile than an egg, and any bad news could lead her back to the hospital again. Besides even if I told them, there was really nothing else they would be able to do, even I did not know where I was though I meant to find out soon.  "You're still a virgin right?" mom asked in a way that made me wonder how long she had been dying to ask that question.  "Mom!" I cried in embarrassment.  "Tell me, Nicole. Has he touched you?"  In more ways than one. But I was not about to tell them that.  There was a scrambled on the other end of the phone followed by my dad's desperate voice. "Princess, tell me, did that f*****g bastard lay his hand on your body?"  "Mom...dad, please both of you calm down. Hearing you stress so much is making me anxious," I looked to where Adrian was still seated and hoped he was too busy to hear my net words. " No, he did not. Adrian had been the perfect gentleman."  The second the words left my lips, Adrian snorted, eyes still focused on the paper. I knew his mind ad ears were here. I could hear my parents sigh in relief, and I could swear my mother was on the verge of crying before.  "Tell me how are you both doing?" I asked diverting the conversation from me.  "Not good. I am not good Nic." mom said. It had to be her best quality. The woman could not hide how she felt, good or bad. She would spill it out exactly the way she felt it. "I miss you so much. I want you to come back home to me. This whole house is so empty without you." her voice broke, and I heard dad whisper something to her.  "Mom please don't cry, I miss you too, so much. But I'm doing all of these for our family right?"  "I know," she said sobbing. "It's just hard for me to know that my only child is in the hands of such a man and I cannot do a thing to help her."  "You can help me by being strong for me, and staying as healthy as possible till I get back. Because in just a few months, I will come back to you mom." I said reassuringly, my eyes fixed on Adrian.  "Yes, you will. Right Clark?" she shot the last question to my dad, and I could only imagine the glare she was giving him.  "She's my daughter too, and I will make sure she comes home soon." dad retorted.  "Please you guys," I chipped in sensing the argument coming. "this is already hard enough, I don't want to imagine how hard it will be if you're both fighting." "We are not fighting sweetie. After you I love your father most, nothing would ever change that. I'm just so upset."  "Well, there is no need to be upset. I am fine. I promise, and you are the first person I will talk to if anything stops being fine. Just please do not worry so much." "Good, because I will die if anything happened to you."  "Mother..." I reprimanded and at the same time, dad said "Caitlyn," In a harsh tone. After an hour of convincing, some begging, a lot of sobbing, and exchanging of glares between me and Adrian, I finally got off the call with my parents. At least dad was convinced, I was not so sure about mom. But I knew she would be okay since she had dad with her. I did not have the luxury of my family's warm and reassuring hugs at the moment. Knowing that my parents were now only a call away made me feel more at ease than ever.  I tapped on the next number, and Denis picked up on the second ring. "Oh my motherfucking gosh," he screeched in excitement, and I winced at the shrilled sound in my ear. "f**k I thought you had been wiped off the planet Nic." he cried. "Well hello human, I bring you greeting from the sun," I said dryly.  "Shut up," he said laughing. "Please the only thing I want to hear is that your home love. Coz I'm on my way, f**k there's so much you missed in these few days. Oh God, I did not realize how much I have missed you."  "I missed you too boo bear." I breathed, and Adrian shot me a questioning look.  "Well, that's fine. I'm on my way to your house now, I'm coming in through the back window, I don't want to cross your mom, she's really cranky these days," he whispered as if she were actually there. "I have so much to tell you about prom. You would not believe who got crowned queen. Also, you owe me so much time and attention, so sleepover at my house tonight, no excuses." he said with a note of finality.  "Um...that's why I called," I whispered, trying to find the strength to tell him that I would not be coming back anytime soon.  "What's wrong?" he asked, his tone immediately changing to concern.  I looked up at Adrian, hoping he would get the hint and let me have this conversation in private. But his eyes were fixed on the papers he was signing, and he did not even spare a glance my way.  I took a deep breath. "Well, you see the thing is..." I hesitated, think about just how much information to give him. "I am home....but I'm not home." "What?"  "I'm not in Victoria right now..but I am home."  "Nic, what's going on?" he sounded scared and confused.  "I got married." I blurted.  "You what now?"  "I got married, and um...I'm no longer in the country, and Victoria is no longer my home."  "Okay girl...I know you said you'd get back at me with a worse prank but this is not f*****g funny."  "It's not funny because it's not meant to be funny. I got married on prom night, and I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. I just needed some time." Adrian was still at the table, but I could feel his eyes boring into me, daring me to say the wrong thing.  "Who...how...why...where...why...when," his questions came out as an incoherent mess but I knew him well enough to understand every word.  "Slow down Den."  "No wonder your mom has been so sad, even your dad has not gone out in days. Nic did you get forced into this? Oh my god, you just turned eighteen, how can you be married?" he cried.  "No, nobody forced me into it," I said sharply, earning a glare from Adrian.  "I know you're lying. Tell me what's going on Nicole, you don't lie to me."  "I'm not lying," I lied. "I'm married and I know it's coming as a shock but believe me, I'm fine."  "I think I need to tell the cops, Nicole. What is going on?" he cried.  "f**k no." I said sharply, "you can't call the cops, please do not do that." At the mention of cops, Adrian stiffened, and he threw the papers on the table with a loud thud. He got to his feet and I knew he was making his way to me. "Denis, I have to go," my eyes were fixed on his large figure, as he came closer.  "Nic I Still have so many questions don't go."  "I'll answer every one of them when I call you again," I said quickly. "Like hell, you will," Adrian said towering over me, arms folded.  "Oh my God... who is that Nicole? He sounds scary."  "Phone," Adrian said, stretching his palm.  "Denis, I'm fine. I'll call you again, tomorrow. I promise." I said quickly and ended the call. I placed the phone into Adrian's outstretched hand, thankful that he did not see me roll my eyes from where he stood above me.  "Thank you," he said simply and walked back to the table putting the phone next to him.  "Control freak," I muttered, as I got to my feet and walked to the bathroom.  "Did you say something?" he asked, eyes narrowing at me, daring me to repeat myself.  "Yes," I shot back. "I said I'm starving."  He chuckled and turned back to his work. "Good I'm starving too. Take a shower food will be here when you get back."
