After Ryder left for this live show appearance, I got busy over the weekend with my projects at the shop and finished up Mrs. James' baby shower cake, and set things up for her before returning to the shop to lock up. After I made sure all the lights and ovens are off, I locked the shop and start making my way home on my bike.
Traffic was a hassle on my way home. Was there a roadblock I didn't know about or maybe even an accident? I cut through the traffic and just as I was crossing the traffic light, a driver lost control of his vehicle and swerve right into me. I flew right off my bike from the direct hit and impact, I skidded across the road.
When I pushed myself up I found my bike crushed underneath the front part of the car. The person didn't even get out of his car to check up on me and the ambulance arrived sooner than I thought saving the jackass from me. They insisted that I go for a check-up to make sure everything was alright with me especially that I hit my head from the impact.
And to make matters worst, they notified my mother. The doctor just finished up checking up on me when my mother walked in, more like stormed in with guns blazing. "This is going to be a nightmare,"I muttered. "Alexandra." I shut my eyes at my mother's stern almost scolding voice. "I told you that bike is nothing but a death trap." She lectured.
I almost looked at the doctor with pleading eyes when I reopened them begging for some injection almost anything to put me to sleep. "I presume you are my patient's mother." The doctor asked ignoring my mother's fallout. 'That's correct." She answered.
"Your daughter has a few scars on her hands and forearms. No bruising on her scalp. She is actually in perfect condition." He informed her of my state not realizing that she wasn't listening. "We just requested that we have a look at her as she did hit her head with the collision."
"Just know this means that you are not getting yourself another bike after this." My mother said still ignoring that the doctor wants to inform her about my well-being. "Well mom, that's not up to you, is it? That's the best thing about living under my own roof." The doctor almost wanted to smile. "Are you nuts? Isn't there a rule against being reckless?"
"I wasn't the reckless one. Some jackass broke the law by speeding and he couldn't quite find his brakes. He lost control of his car and swerved right into me." I stood up from the small bed. "Any dizziness or headache?" The doctor asked. "Not from the crash," I mumbled.
He then handed me my helmet and some paperwork to sign for my discharge. "Your body will probably be in pain tonight from the fall. I prescribed some medication for two days. Only use before going to bed." He told me as I signed the paperwork and handed it back to him. "Thanks, doc." He nodded. "And good luck." He replied.
I left the hospital with my mother as I had no other choice. "Have you eaten anything?" My mom asked as we got into her car. "It's Amy's turn for food," I replied fastening my seatbelt. "So, I can assume that you haven't eaten and that you have no idea if Amy is bringing food home." I ignored my mother trying to be clever.
"Why didn't dad come to pick me up?" I asked. "Because I answered the phone." She replied reversing out of the parking lot. "Of course you did," I muttered looking out the window. "You know that I'm just a concerned parent." I shut my eyes. "Only when you feel like it." My mom ignored me as she pulled up in front of the drive-through of Mcdonalds.
"Mcdonalds?" I asked looking at her with a quirked eyebrow. "You used to hate bringing us here," I said. "I know. I still do but you need something to eat." I just shook my head in amusement. "You told me once that I started looking like a hamburger." My mom just stared at me. "You do know I can buy my own food. I'm not a kid anymore." I said changing the subject.
"Well, face it you are my kid." She said handing me the bag with my food in. I started nibbling on the fries and offered her some to which she declined. "You do know that you are not some supermodel anymore?" My mom decided to stay quiet. I continued eating when I realized she doesn't want to talk any further.
She pulled up in front of my house. "Can you promise me that you will reconsider your decision about buying yourself a new bike?" My mom asked. "Just because I got a few scratches now I have to stay away from ever riding a bike again?"
"Why don't you stop with all of this and focus on getting yourself a family?" Here we go again. "Billy is seriously interested in seeing you again."
"You want me to go on a date with him?" She nodded. "If I say yes, does that mean you will leave me alone?" My mother looked thrilled. "Good night, mom. Thanks for dinner. I'll pay you back." I started getting out of the car. "Aren't you going to invite me in?" She asked. "No, thank you." I replied shutting the door behind me and made my way over to the front door.
There was no sign of Amy when I entered the house. It was Saturday night, after all, and she was probably going out with Juan. I got comfortable in front of the TV and finished up the food my mom got me when the front door opened with a bang. I tried to avert my eyes but when they started taking off each other clothes while devouring each other with their lips. "Okay-TMI!!" I yelled holding up my hand. "I'm way to single to be witnessing this." I continued.
Amy looked at me with big round eyes like a deer caught in headlights. "Might want to button that up." I motioned to her shirt. "What are you doing home? I didn't see your bike outside." She asked. I held up my bandaged arm. "My bike is on its way over to the workshop."
"What happened?" She almost ran over to me. "Some jackass lost control of his car and I was in his way."
"Is anything broken?" She asked from concern. "No. Luckily not," I replied. "Why didn't you call me?" She asked. "Because the hospital already notified my mother before I could even think of calling you," I answered. "And she got you dinner?" She asked smiling. "Yeah, I think it's her way of getting me to go out with Billy." Amy giggled and made herself comfortable next to me.
"Aren't you going to continue what you guys started?" I asked. "I'm not going to go up to my room and have s*x with Juan while knowing you are downstairs." I chuckled. "You never had a problem before." She rolled her eyes at me. Juan and Amy decided to join me for the night. Got in takeaways and we spend hours watching tv-shows or movies whatever we found.
I fell asleep during a movie we were watching and my guess is that Amy and Juan probably went upstairs. Leaving me like this, asleep in front of the tv. At least Amy had the heart to put a pillow under my head and covered me with a blanket.
The next morning I woke up with a tv-show playing where the crowd cheered when Ryder Cane walked out on the stage of the Ellen show. I frowned and then shot up into a sitting position to turn up the volume. He looked absolutely breathtaking in his black suit pants and a button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
"Today we have the UFC heavyweight champ of three years running with us: Ryder Cane!" At the mention of his name, the audience went absolutely nuts. "Handsome isn't he?" Ellen asked looking at the audience where they cheered agreeing with her. Ryder just smiled knowing that the host was sincere.
They then started talking about his past as a boy when he started out fighting in the cage. Where people misjudged him for his lack of muscles and fortune but he made it work by working harder on his physique and donating money to the poor and cancer resource centers.
He was truly a saint. He didn't forget who he was and where he came from. He used his past and made it grow in the future with a good heart. He loves his father even when he is a famous man with a title. He didn't become arrogant or thought he was better than the rest. He was a true hero by heart and name.
