Chapter 22: Chaos Third Person's POV The bad feeling creeping up from inside him agitated Zyar's state of mind. The late king was poisoned to death as well as the old duke that is already on his late years. Who could be the one behind all of this? He feels like everything that happened since the king's death is out of their control, like someone was manipulating all of their movement since then. Maybe even the Queen's coronation is also a move of that someone. The thought of the queen halted Zyar's unending and jumbled thoughts. "Finish here and report your findings to the old duke's family. I need to go back to the palace quickly." Throwing out those words to the two baffled men, Zyar briskly exited the old duke's manor and took one horse tied to the carriage before mounting it to hurry in the direction of the royal palace. There is clearly something amiss about all of what happened, and Zyar could only pray for the queen's safety. He would not be able to forgive himself if anything happens to Asteria under his watch, not when he pledged his loyalty and life to her as her personal knight. Slowly walking in the vast corridor of the outer palace where royal guards patrol the surroundings steadily, Seles enjoys the scenery of the vibrant trees and flowers at every corner in the open yards of the palace under the orange light of the setting sun. Her joyful mood is clearly plastered on her face. The bright smile that reaches her eyes gave her a very lively beauty that attracts the gazes of some of the guards and palace servants passing by. Seles did not bother with any of them as she only cares about the chaos that is currently on its way to destroy everything in the kingdom that she hates. On her way to enter the inner palace to visit her little sister Amayris, a tall and handsome nobleman coincidentally appeared on the corridor on her right side. The tall and handsome man quirk his lips in a surprised and pleasured smile as he eyed Seles' face and figure without any scruples. "Her highness the first princess is really as lovely as the blooming flowers in spring." The low and suggestive voice of the Royal advisor of the Regin kingdom, Agiel made Seles' pure smiling face turn into a small perfunctory one. This beast in human skin is always eyeing her in and out of the palace. Seles gazed at the burning and obsessive eyes that will always linger on her. He truly is a thirsty beast under a scholar's robe. "Your true face is slowly cracking out of your gentlemanly facade." Agiel's gentle and steady aura as the Royal advisor of the kingdom dispersed, and a seemingly casual and frivolous man appeared in his stead. His eyes lit up strangely at the beauty in front of him. He could never get tired of seeing her twisted type of beauty like a rare piece of art. "Your highness the first princess now knows how to joke with this lowly advisor. I have always been a gentleman, as this is the reason why I will always be at your service." Seles smirked in derision at this p*****t though it is really irritating that she still needs his cooperation or else how could her plans go smoothly. She really is pitiful to be forced to accompany this man because of wanting the right to the throne that should have always belong to her. "Do your job well and maybe I can consider you." Seles smiled at Agiel before leaving her beautiful receding back to face him. Agiel licked his lips as he eyed Seles like a delicious prey. He can't help but imagine to what ecstacy her taste will bring him. She must taste unique with different flavors, just like her personality. "My dear little princess is still as fierce as when I met her. As fierce and as crazed as always...Pu-hahaha...I can't really wait to have a taste." The creepy laughter rang out in the empty corridor evoking deep anxiety to anyone who heard it. The respected and righteous royal advisor of the Regin kingdom is but a horny beast inside. Who would dare to believe it? The day ended and darkness ushered in to cover the land and sky. A bright moon appeared giving off a small light in the night. Small and big lanterns all over the capital city grew bright and the inns, restaurants and shops at the center of the city grew livelier with a big flow of citizens enjoying their free time. It is always a way to relieve the stress of working for a whole day by drinking, eating and playing in the lively district of the capital city. Royal Knight Zyar arrived at the royal palace in only an hour of speeding his horse into panting out its insides. He directly entered the palace without anyone barring him and worriedly approached the royal study of the queen. Zyar did not even knock and just opened the door. The two individual inside raised their gazes at Zyar's figure. Nem did not bother with the rude entry of her sworn brother and gesture for him to sit down at the chair next to the other one on the room. General Kiros' solemn gaze gave Zyar a jolt before he quickly sat down next to him to face Asteria's burden-filled eyes that is supposed to be full of innocence and beauty of the world. "Your majesty please forgive this one for being rude, but is there something the matter for the general's presence in the royal palace?" Zyar did not blink while asking Nem. He is too agitated to worry about etiquette and manners at the moment. General Kiros also discarded manners as he patted Zyar's back before opening his mouth to repeat the news he told the queen. "A letter was disseminate all over the capital city in all of the manors of the officials and nobles about the death of the late king as the current queen's doing of poisoning him to ascend to the throne quickly. There are also a couple of witnesses that wrote that they were ordered by the queen to poison the late king and also the old duke that just perished." The huge amount of information that only sounds ridiculous in Zyar's ears lingered in the study room as no one of the three chose to speak for the moment. Nem is currently digesting the report because of the shock she felt from it. How utterly ridiculous! How could she kill her own royal father that loved her dearly just to ascend the throne early? This is really hard for her to sink in. "This...what kind of i***t wants to slander the queen's reputation?" Zyar could not help but want to curse at the moment. The queen is too kind to even distress her royal father when she was growing up, which is why she followed all of his orders to study hard for the future of the kingdom, and now someone slanders her of killing her own father by poisoning him. This is really just a ridiculous taunt for them, but this could overturn the whole kingdom. "Your majesty, what do you think should we do? We probably need to call for the royal army based near the capital to contain the whole vicinity of the capital so that we are prepared for any accident that will crop up." Nem thoughtfully nodded her head at Kiros' suggestion. It is better to be ready that to wait passively for an accident to happen before acting in panic. "General Kiros, this Queen wants you to contact the commander of the flame royal battalion near the capital. Use a flying wild beast messenger as we have no time to waste." "Royal knight Zyar should command the ten thousand royal guards of the royal palace and contact the captain of the capital city guards to raise the patrol to the red signal." The soft voice of a sixteen year old young lady carries traces of immaturity, but her orders are highly appropriate for the situation letting the two loyal general and Knight to breathe in relief. "This servant hears your majesty's words." "This servant hears your majesty's words." Two powerful voice boomed in unison as they kneeled before both hurrying out of the study room to perform their duties. At the same time of the meeting between the three in the royal study. Seles sat next to Amayris' sleeping figure. Her fingers gently caresses her face while humming joyfully. She would look out the window of the royal chamber from time to time seemingly gazing at the night sky where the moon spreads its brilliance. "Little sister, elder sister is here to accompany you, so you don't have to be scared because it will be slightly noisy this night." Seles smiled lovingly while whispering this words as her gaze that is facing the direction of the throne room chilled like the sudden descent of snow in a sunny day. As General Kiros and Zyar arrived at the relay station of the flying wild beast messengers. They immediately stamped their letters with the red stamp of the queen that signals an emergency situation. All they need to do is to wait for the response. Zyar did not tally and bid goodbye to Kiros, before lighting up a red and blue firework in the night sky to call all of the royal guards in the palace to convene in the central spacious square in front of the palace. Seeing the signal in the sky, the ten thousand royal guards scattered in the palace or in the barracks behind the palace moved in an orderly manner and arrived at the square in only the quarter of an hour. Seles looked up at the sky filled with red and blue lights and giggled to herself. Do they really think that knowing about the danger will let them escape it? How naive of them. She even thought that they could struggle for a bit, but looking at their actions, it seems a tad bit childish and too lacking in depth. Did they not even think of the possibilty of the enemies being hidden in the guards that they think will protect them with their lives? They are too funny for her to even feel a slight bit of pity. A queen at the age of sixteen with a pure and kind heart is really asking to be bullied to death. "Little sister, it seems that the second sister you admires is only to this extent." Seles' words sound gentle and sweet but the look of disdain in her eyes cannot be more vivid in the night. She really can't wait anymore for the screams, despair and fear that will envelope this luxurious palace in a peaceful night like this. She wants to see the death and the blood of those she hated smearing the floor that she will step on in the future. It will surely feel pleasurable to step on the blood of her enemies. The vivid image in her mind gave Seles an electrifying ecstacy running through her veins. What a great feeling ah! Seles raised her left hand and a small bird the size of a thumb settled on her palm. The bird is a wild beast rare in the east as it is small and weak but is one of the fastest flying wild beast known in the origin land. It is also a bird that can glow in three different colors in the night. Yellow, green and white are the three colors, and it is used as a sign for the owner in case of emergencies. "Let's begin this beautiful carnage." As her words fell, the thumb-sized bird glowed in bright yellow before flashing out the window into the direction of the central square of the royal palace.
