Fate of Dave.

" Good evening listeners. Tonight, I will be sharing with you the news on the report of whether or not the abolishment of the prosecution. The government has made to conclusion and has agreed that the prosecution surely should not be abolished. It is not an act of ignoring the citizens but an act of protecting them. Henceforth, the prosecution shall continue with their duties. The government then further said that they would do all what it takes to remove any form of misconduct in the prosecution..." The reporter said. Everyone of us, in our various homes, listened to this news — I'm not in exception. It was a great news but at the same time, a bad news. That meant that the trial would continue and there had not been several evidences to prove Dave right. _____________________________________________________ I had just woken up the following day and I got a call from the Miami Book company. I wondered why they had to call me that fateful morning. "Yes, this is secretary Mira Mesa speaking. " I said on the phone call. "Hello ma'am. I'm secretary Jordan. I am calling from Miami book company. The call is to inform you that our contract starts tomorrow. I hope you remember that. " She said. I had totally forgotten about it. I wondered why things tend to fall apart when I didn't want them to. "Yes sure ma'am. We deeply hope you would not disappoint us at L'art book company. Thank you. " I said as I hung up. I was tired of it all. " This year is not a good year." I said to myself. I knew I would be the only one to deal with the Miami's book company. Hart was very busy making phone calls, doing all what it takes to help Dave. He seemed to had forgotten that he had a job. He is a worker — a CEO for that matter. He had always been known as a very hardworking person, but since all these had happened, the reverse is the case. I could not see him that day not to talk of telling him what happened. I took my bag and went to work. There was nothing I was going to do after all. I also made myself busy by making some research about the Miami book company. But, to my greatest surprise, I found something strange. All their clients are guys. I thought severally, but I could not get the answer I wanted. "Could it be that their books are male-oriented? But, still, that doesn't hinder women to read them." I thought. I could not figure out what had happened. I knew from the very beginning that something was off with the Miami book company. Our company's main aim was to bring their company down. We kept getting hints but we couldn't solve the puzzle. I picked up my phone and called Hart. "Why're you calling? I'm in the trial!" He said on the phone line. "What?" I exclaimed. " I thought the trial is next week Monday, but why today?" I asked. "You didn't know? Oh! I didn't tell you. I'm hanging up. " He hung up the phone. I quickly carried my bag and headed to the court. I should at least be there even though I couldn't do anything for Dave. I really hoped that Dave would find mercy in court. "All rise! The court is now in session. " The judicial assistant said. "According to the report, on Saturday, 17th February, 2000. This defendant, Mr Dave who used to be the late CEO Delves' employee, murdered him due to force of push. Due to shock, Mr Delves died. The assailant, Mr Dave, insisted that it was an act of self defence. Thereby, the prosecution sees this as null and void. The prosecution moves to indict Mr Dave for murder. " Prosecutor Augustus said. It was at this stage that I entered the court room and sat down hoping for the best. "Defense counsel for Mr Dave, do the defendant admit to the charges? " The judge asked. "Yes, Your Honor. But, we deny the fact that Mr Delves died due to the push. According to the medical report taken two weeks before his death, he was diagnosed of heart disease. That made it sure that he died due to the disease not the push. This is the medical report. " Karina said as she went over to give it to the judge. "However, CEO Delves tried to kill him, and if the defendant didn't take any possible action at that moment, I believe that he would have died. At all cost, one person had to die among them. Alongside this race, we have gathered witnesses during the scene to prove to the court that Mr Dave is not to be blamed. The victim, CEO Delves had assaulted almost all of his employees including ladies. He killed some, but due to bribery and corruption, the police covered it up. These actions were unbearable for anyone to think of. "Karina continued. I was shocked. It was just like I thought. That was the first time I saw Karina behave like a normal human being. She was definitely skilled. "Mr Dave, the defendant, had been proved right by several evidences. However, the prosecution moves to withdraw the charge. " Prosecutor Augustus said. "The court declares the defendant, Mr Dave guiltless. Here is the court's order, the family of CEO Delves would be moved for further investigation, while Mr Dave is set free. " The court declared. A satisfactory smile went on Hart. He went ahead and hugged Dave. "Thanks buddy. " Dave said. "What a wonderful trial!" Karina said. I went to her and said, "you did well. " "What was that? Did you just complement me?" She asked. "No, I did not. It is just a fact. " I didn't know when I got to say that. Finally! Everyone could smile. Happiness grew over me till I got another call from the Miami book company. "Oh God! Good Gracious! Jeez!" I exclaimed.
