Are You My Mate?

Chapter 9

* I was so excited when lunch time came around. (Actually I kept going from excited to nervous) I was going to see Dean today and he was my mate. He wanted to see me today he insisted on seeing me. He also likes me, just as much as I like him. He has always liked me. (I still can't believe my luck) I guess it's our luck since he wanted the same thing.

Nelson and Maggie shake their heads as I walk past her car. At least I try, because I know what they'll say. They've been mocking Dean all day and I'm sure they still have lots of stuff to say. "What now guys?" "Nothing" says Nelson but I know he wants to say something. 

"If I were you, I'd skip town," laughs Maggie. "Guys you're still not done making jokes about him?" "We may never be," she says as she shrugs. "But he's nice, the mean one is his mom" "Keep telling yourself that," "You and Alpha Lawrence are the only ones blind to him and our dear Luna," says Nelson. 

"I've only ever seen him helping people" "Who his parents or some little old lady crossing the street when he was a pup,?" asks Maggie, sounding a little too serious. "I'm not trying to be mean, but go to the an island somewhere and hide until he finds a chosen mate," "Then come back," "We'll keep in touch," 

I shake my head as I smile. "You guys are nutty" "We're serious Denai," says Nelson. "You are too good for that family" "Maybe I won't have to see her after we're mated'' "I thought about it, he can move into my house" "It's almost as big as his or we could buy another one" "His mom will make you move in with them, and you'll be living in hell," says Maggie again serious. 

"Guys I've liked him ever since we were pups, I at least want to try" "And I can't just ditch him, especially since he feels the same way about me," "We hung out so much when we were pups" "I remember us playing together all the time, but later I only visited during important dates and pack meetings" (Maybe that's when his mom started hating me) (What could have happened to make her hate me?)

"If you grew up together, then why isn't he as sweet as you,?" asks Maggie, again with her serious face. "He is, you just don't know him yet" I say realizing that I barely know him as well. I was too shy to really talk to him and he was always busy. 

"Well just take things slow," says Nelson. I nod and then I give them both a hug, since they are both leaned up against her car.

 "He's calling!" I squeal when my phone vibrates. Maggie rolls her eyes. "Take it real slow," says Nelson again as I listen to where Dean wants to meet. I nod and smile as I hang up. "He wants to take me to get something to eat, then we're going to watch a movie" "At the theater or someone's living room,?" asks Nelson as if he's my dad.

 "I don't know, but he did ask me out to the movies yesturday, so that must be where he wants to take me" "Okay keep us posted and take it slow," "Okay, okay," I say as I back away, then I hurry to my car so that he doesn't end up waiting on me.

"Hello beautiful mate," "How was your day?" he says after he opens the door for me. "It was great" "Most of the office got off early today" "Why, can they not do anything without you,?" he asks as he hugs me.

 "Because my assistant doesn't think that they could do their jobs without me, since I, comb over every ones work making sure that everything is perfect" "You're going to be a great Luna, you probably already know about all of our pack history and past Alphas and Lunas," he says proudly. 

I do but I don't tell him because I'm sure everyone does, since we're taught this in school. (I also don't like to brag)

He slides over closer to me, as I finish my dessert to wrap hips arm around my waist. "I might have to change up our plans a little" he says with a smirk, bringing a smile to my face. (He's so cute) "Okay what did you have in mind?" "Well since we've already eaten..." He pauses for dramatic effect. "Let's go to my parent's get away cabin a few towns over" 

"Is that where we'll watch the movie?" I ask wondering if there is a theater or if we will watch a movie on television. "Yeah, you can choose whichever movies you want," "I think they have like BHO or something like that," "Okay, great there's a new movie I've been wanting to see,"  

He smiles and leans over to peck my cheek and I smile and offer him a bit of my pie. "I'm get some of your sweets later" he says before he pecks my lips twice then he lightly pulls my bottom lip with his. "Okay'' I whisper as I hold my fork. (I don't want the rest of my pie) (I want another kiss)

"You ready to go?" I nod yes and he chuckles and pecks my lips again. (I feel like I'm in heaven every time our lips touch) I could do this all day, everyday. (I told them he was sweet) They have no idea who he really is and they don't want me to find out.

We stop at a gas station so that he can fill up and he also wanted to get snacks in case I got hungry. He didn't know if his parents have it stocked with food. 

"Are you looking for someone,?" he growls out at a guy that was looking at me, even though, I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. He winks at me when he sees me checking him out. (I can't wait to run my fingers through his curly red locks) I wonder how long I'll have to wait until he'll let me.

I get nervous as we pull up to the cabin. We hardly talked the entire drive but I was happy just having him hold my hand. He even kissed it a few times.

His phone rings as he opens the door to the cabin and I hear her before he can ever say hello. "Mom I'm busy," "What slut are you with now Dean?!" "I am the future Alpha of this pack, so I don't have to answer to you," "And just so you know, I am with a very important person," "Someone that we've been waiting for, for a long time," "You found your mate?!" "Bye mom," he says as he hangs up. (She will definitely hate me now) 

He turns his phone off when it rings again then he leads me inside. "Do you want anything to eat?" he asks as he grabs my waist and pulls me closer. "Mmmm... maybe some popcorn for the movie" "Okay well you have a seat and I'll make us some," I nod shyly as I walk away as he smiles at me sweetly. (Is this a dream?)
