Harry's and Alice's relationship was not tainted by their dating. Their love for one another was genuine, which was the reason why their relationship didn't end up in failure, whereas some of their classmates only ruined their friendship when crossing that bridge.
With Harry being badass and Alice timid, no one approached the couple without thinking it through besides Alexandra. Harry was known to be a good fighter. Everybody knew about what had happened two years ago, when Alice had almost been kidnapped... and there was no classmate who was foolish enough to approach his girl when they knew how protective he was of her back when they were only friends – never mind now that they were dating.
