Chapter 2It took Audra a moment to figure out where she was when she awoke Friday morning. Once she had, she mentally thanked Jules for letting her sleep at the club. It made her feel safe, which is what he and Gale intended. Taking a towel and washcloth from her suitcase, as well as her travel bag, she went down to the restroom. She wished she could shower, but that wasn’t happening, so she washed up as best she could, brushed her teeth, and combed her hair. Returning to the room, she put on fresh underwear and then dressed in jeans and a T-shirt.
With that finished, she finally turned on her phone, which she’d turned off the day before as soon as she was on the road and had called to let Gale know she was headed to Denver. The last thing she’d wanted was to deal with Hank when he called
