Tonight was a benefit auction that Bradley and I were to attend. I was auctioning an one-of-a-kind dress that I had designed for tonight while Bradley was going to donate money. This was to also help raise awareness to third world countries that were in need of help. I had donated money towards programs that go and help them before tonight.
With the help of some stylists, I wore a long sliver dress that had a slit that went up to my right mid thigh. My hair was curled down, as part of my request. My makeup made me look and feel more elegant.
"Are you ready, Tessa?" Bradley asked me as he walked over to me.
"Yes. Let me just put on my shoes and grad my clutch and we are good to go," I tell him.
"Alright. You look stunning by the way," Bradley said, kissing my head.
"You look dashing yourself," I smiled.
When we got to the museum that the event was being held at, I saw Thea and her husband, Asher, talking to some people. I looked around at everyone who was dressed up all fancy for tonight. I recognized some people here.
"Asher! Thea! Good to see the two of you," Bradley said as we approached the two.
"Hello, Bradley. Hello, Tessa," Asher greeted.
"I hear we are all in one table along with Jasper and his mother," I tell the two.
"Oh yes. I saw the information we were given," Thea told me.
"Gentlemen. Ladies," we all looked over to see Jasper Kline and his mother walking up towards us.
"Hello, Jasper. Mrs. Kline," Bradley acknowledged.
"Hello, everyone. How are all of you during this fine evening?" Mrs. Kline asked.
"We are doing well."
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our annual benefit charity auction. In half an hour, we will begin dinner then dinner. Please enjoy yourselves to some drinks," the host of the event said.
"I'm gonna grab a drink of water," I tell Bradley.
"Alright."
"Thea? Mrs. Kline? Would you like to join me for a drink?" I asked.
"I'd love to darling but I see some people I need to have a chat with," Mrs. Kline said.
"I'll join you," Thea smiled.
Thea and I walked over to the bar area by ourselves. Our husbands along with Jasper were busy talking about some business deals that they were offered.
"Any baby symptoms yet?" Thea asked me.
"No. Not yet anyway," I tell her.
"Well keep trying. You'll never know when you'll be expecting," Thea told me.
"Tessa Bain."
I looked up to see Chester Irvine standing in front of me. Chester Irvine was who Bradley liked to call, his rival. I thought it was pretty funny the way he described him.
"It is finally nice to meet you. Chester Irvine," Chester introduced.
"Please to meet you, Chester. This is Thea Porter. Asher Porter's wife," I smiled.
"Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Porter," Chester smiled.
"It is nice to meet you as well, Mr. Irvine," Thea smiled.
"Tessa, I heard you have auctioned off a one of a kind dress," Chester said.
"Yes. I designed it specifically for this event," I nodded.
"Well my niece loves your dresses and I hope to win your dress for her."
"Good luck. I've heard that some wives are demanding the dress to be bought buy their husbands," Thea mentioned.
"I have no doubt about that," Chester chuckled.
"So, Chester. My husband tells me that your company has been rising up lately," I said.
"Yes it has," Chester smiled at me.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for dinner. Please take your place at your tables and in just a few moments, we will start the auctions."
"It was nice to meet you, Chester," I said.
"It was nice to meet you as well, Tessa. You two ladies enjoy your night," Chester said.
"He was totally flirting with you," Thea told me as we headed back to the table.
"He was not," I defended.
"Um, yes he was! He knows that you're married to Bradley right?" Thea asked.
"What's going on?" Asher asked.
"I'll tell you later," Thea told him.
"Did you ladies get a chance to read what is to be auctioned?" Mrs. Kline asked us.
"No. Thea and I were a little distracted," I explained to her.
"I will say that your dress is something I'm looking forward to, Tessa," Mrs. Kline told me.
"Thank you."
"And there's something I found that I can try to win for you," Bradley told me.
"Oh really?" I asked him.
"Yes."
Dinner was great. However, the dessert was to be served after the auction was over. We were all given a fan to raise for when we were about to bid for something we like. A good majority of everyone here had placed something to be auctioned off.
The auctions included some jewelry, historic pieces that were sent from some of the older guests, and some vacation places that we could stay for a week. I was the only one out of everyone who had a one of a kind dress up for auction. Hence why I was asked for a lot of charity auctions to donate a dress to them.
So far, Bradley and I were the only ones out of the table who haven't bid on anything yet. Asher had won a vacation for him and Thea. Jasper had bid on a necklace for his mother.
"Up next is a beautiful diamond crested jewelry set. We will start the auction off at 500,000 dollars."
I saw Bradley raise his fan up making me look at him in shock.
"You're getting that for yourself?" I joked.
"I was hoping to see you wear it," Bradley smiled at me.
"Do I hear one million?"
I looked around to see Chester raising his fan up. I notice him look over at my direction, making me look away.
"One million! Do I hear anything higher?"
A different man raised his fan up. It felt a bit of a blur on the bidding. It mainly went back and forth between Bradley and Chester. Thea looked at me before giving me a look.
"Thirty million dollars!" Bradley bid. I looked up at my husband in shock.
"Thirty million dollars! Going once!"
I looked back at Chester who didn't raise his fan.
"Going twice!"
I looked up at Bradley who smiled at winked at me.
"Sold to Mr. Bradley Bain!"
I kissed my husband's cheek in happiness. Bradley winked at me before holding my hand. For the rest of the auctions, we waited patiently for my dress to be auctioned off.
"Now for the last item to auction. Ladies, you better get your husband's wallet or your wallet ready since we are now about to bid off Mrs. Tessa Bain's one of a kind dress!"
All the ladies clapped in excitement as they showed off my dress.
"As you know, Mrs. Tessa Bain only designs one dress for auctions and will not be repeated by her. We will start the bidding at 500,000 dollars," the bidder announced.
A majority of the ladies fans went up in the room. It was nice and fun to watch on who would get my dress.
"Fifty million dollars!"
Many of the women gasped at the offer. I looked over to see Chester Irvine with his fan up.
"Fifty million dollars! Do I hear anything higher?"
No one raised their fans up. I noticed how some of the women were upset at the high number that Chester bid.
"Going once!"
Some men looked like they were about to sweat from debating with themselves on whether to lose all their money to keep their wife happy or have a life to support themselves.
"Going twice!"
I watched how some women changed from a sad to a mad look on their faces.
"Sold to Mr. Chester Irvine!"
At the end of the auction, I waited patiently for Bradley to pay and receive his win. I noticed Chester walking over to me.
"Congratulations on your win, Chester," I said.
"Thank you. My niece will love the dress."
"I'm sure she will," I smiled.
"Chester. Are you lost?" I looked to see Bradley standing behind me.
"No. I was just telling your wife that my niece will love her new dress," Chester explains to Bradley.
"Well, it's getting late and I should take my wife back home," Bradley told Chester.
"I see. You two have a good night."
"And you as well, Chester," I said before walking off with Bradley.
During the ride home, Bradley seemed tense. I knew what would make him feel better once we got back home however. After admiring the jewelry, I stripped off my dress and took my makeup off. I took off my undergarments before putting on the jewelry.
"Tessa? Are you ready for bed?" I heard Bradley call out.
"Yes."
I walked out of the bathroom to see Bradley in bed. Bradley's eyes lit up as he sat up in out bed. I walked over to the bed before getting in. I crawled over a bit before straddling Bradley's lap. Bradley smiled as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"What do you think of the jewelry?" I asked him.
"It's amazing on you."
"Maybe I should go put on my pajamas now huh?" I asked.
"Yeah right," Bradley said before kissing me roughly.
