I walked into the restaurant with Bradley by my side. We followed the hostess to the private room I had reserved for tonight.
"We should have everything ready by the time the rest of the guests come in. Please let us know if you need anything else," the hostess tells us.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"Everything looks good," Bradley said as he looked around.
"There's also a balcony for those who want fresh air. Like me," I tell Bradley before hurrying outside. I looked out to the city and took in a deep breath. I heard some talking behind me but I did not pay any attention.
"You alright?" Bradley asked as he walked over to me.
"Just a little woozy. I think it's nerves," I answered.
"You're going to be fine my love," Bradley said before kissing the back of my head.
"What was the talking from behind?" I asked.
"Our main waiter was asking if we wanted anything. I got you a water."
"Thank you."
"Ah there you two are!" Both Bradley and I turned around to see his mother and father walking up to us. I smiled before walking over and hugging the two.
"Hello, Linda. Hello, Kane," I greeted.
"Hello, Tessa. Hello, Bradley!" Linda greeted.
Bradley was an only child in his family. I could not imagine what it must've been like, being an only child. I was grateful to have Sabrina with me, growing up.
"This is a marvelous restaurant," Linda tells me.
"I agree. I've heard about this restaurant from Mrs. Kline and I checked it out before making the reservations," I explain.
"Oh you spoke to Jasper's mother recently? I need to talk to her about a charity party we need to plan together," Linda said.
"Well, mother. It seems like we need to greet some other guests. Why don't you and dad get some drinks?" Jasper offered.
"Oh okay. We'll talk later," Linda winked. I smiled at her before walking off with Jasper.
Once everyone arrived and seated, I started to feel a little nervous on telling everyone the exciting news.
"You okay, sweetie?" Bradley asked me.
"I'm just feeling nervous," I tell him.
"Don't be. Everyone is going to be happy for us," Bradley comforted before kissing my head.
As we all ate dinner, Bradley and I stood up for our announcement.
"Now you are all wondering why we asked you here for dinner tonight. Well, we have some exciting news," Bradley started.
"I am expecting!" I announced.
Everyone erupted into cheers. My sister rushed over to give me a hug. I smiled and laughed as everyone started to congratulate us.
"Oh, I'm so happy for you darling," my grandmother said.
"Thank you, grandma."
"Your child will be very loved," she smiled happily.
Towards the end of the night, I sat around with the women as we talked about future plans for my baby.
"Any names that you like so far?" Celeste asked me.
"I haven't really thought of any names yet," I tell her.
"Have you thought about where you would want the nursery?" Clary asked.
"Probably near our room. Just in case," I explain.
"That's a good idea," Sabrina pointed at me.
"Do you want a boy or a girl?" Thea questioned.
"I honestly don't care. I'm just happy to be having a baby," I smiled.
"We have to plan out a baby shower for you now," Celeste squealed happily.
After the party, Bradley started to head home while I sat next to him, staring out at the window.
"Can we stop by somewhere?" I asked Bradley.
"Are you not tired?"
"Not really. I actually want to go somewhere," I tell him.
"Where would you like to go?"
"I just want to look at the view of the city."
"You just want to see the city?"
"Yes."
Bradley nodded before driving off to a different direction. We made it to a cliff side area where there were some cars parked as well. I stared at the city with a small smile on my face.
"It never seems to faze me," I tell Bradley.
"Really?"
"Yes. It's just so beautiful to look at," I tell Bradley.
"You are also beautiful to look at," Bradley complimented. I looked over at him. Bradley held my hand before kissing the top of it.
"I love you, Tessa. And I want to become the best father and best husband for you and our child," Bradley said. I leaned over and kissed Bradley softly.
"I love you too. I know you're going to be a great father and you are already a great husband," I tell him. Bradley smiled softly at me before kissing my forehead.
"With you as the mother of my child and my wife, I don't have anything to worry about," Bradley smiled at me.
"Let's go home now. Tomorrow, I am holding my interviews for my new assistant," I tell Bradley.
"You are finally going to do it?"
"Yup. And I am excited and a little nervous," I smiled.
"You're going to pick out a good assistant. Don't worry," Bradley told me before giving me a quick kiss.
