It's been a week since we came back from the fashion show. Of course, the media reported about the scene Bradley caused which was embarrassing to say the most. Right now, Bradley was facing some troubles at work and was busier with work more than ever.
"I can't believe that Bradley did such a thing," my mother sighed in disappointment.
Once Bradley and I came back home, my mother wanted me to get lunch with her. Of course, I asked if Sabrina and Juliet could come so I had someone on my side. Sabrina has always been on my team ever since we were younger. I'm truly blessed to have an older sister by my side.
"At least he's showing how much he cares about his marriage," my sister defended. Juliet sat on my lap as she watched a Disney movie on the tablet Sabrina brought in to distract her.
"It doesn't matter. He is a grown man. He needs to hold in his emotions another way."
"Mom. That's not healthy for a man to hold in all his emotions," I tell her.
"She's right," Sabrina pointed out.
"My daughters are teaming up against me," our mom frowned.
"We've been doing this for a while. I can't believe you haven't noticed till now," Sabrina joked.
"So mom, how's dad?" I asked her.
"He's fine. You know how he is with work," mom told me.
"Right."
Lunch ended quicker than I thought it would. It almost felt like a blur. I walked inside the empty house and walked over to my little design room. Since we were expecting, I had been thinking about doing a line of baby clothes.
As I sat on the couch in my design room, I heard the doorbell ring. I got up and walked downstairs to the front door. I heard it ring once more. I knew the person on the other side may have thought I wasn't home or that I didn't hear it at first. When I opened the door, I saw a woman standing there.
"Can I help you?" I asked.
"I was wondering if Bradley Bain was home?" She asked.
"No. May I ask who you are?" I asked her.
"I'm Kelly. I'm sure he's mentioned me before," the woman said.
"No. He hasn't. Should he?"
"Oh. I'm sorry. I should get going. Can you tell me I stopped by?" Kelly asked me.
"Yeah."
I watched the woman walk away, making me confused. Who was she? And more importantly, why was she looking for Bradley?
After her little visit, I couldn't work on my designs. Hell, I couldn't even do anything without thinking of that woman. Why did she want to see Bradley? My mind went to one other theory.
Did Bradley cheat on me? There were many opportunities that would allow him to cheat on me. I felt tears form in my eyes as I thought about the possible thing.
"Tessa? Are you okay?" I looked over at Bradley who walked over to me.
"I didn't hear you come in," I said, wiping some tears away.
"Are you alright? Did something happen?" Bradley asked me.
"Kinda."
"What happened?"
"A woman stopped by."
"A woman?"
"Yeah. She was looking for you. Her name was Kelly."
Bradley froze up a little. I stared at him as I backed up a little.
"Bradley. Who is Kelly?" I asked.
"Kelly?"
"Yeah. Who is she?"
Bradley let out a sigh before rubbing his hand down his face. I could feel my heart beat quickly in my chest as I stared at my husband.
"Tessa, there's something I need to tell you."
"I'm listening," I said, choking up a little at the end.
"Do you remember the business trip I took recently?" Bradley asked me.
"Yeah."
"Something happened during that trip," Bradley told me. I felt tears fall from my eyes as I stared at Bradley.
"What did you do?"
"I went out to get some drinks and the next morning, I woke up next to a woman named Kelly."
"So this whole time, you've been giving me attention out of guilt?" I asked him.
"Tessa-"
"No. Answer my question. Have you been giving me attention out of guilt?" I asked. Bradley looked at me with pain in his eyes.
"Yes. Tessa-"
"So if you had never cheated on me and kept it from me, we wouldn't be where we are now?" I asked.
"Tessa, please. I'm sorry. Let me explain," Bradley begged.
"Explain what? You cheated on me, Bradley! You lied to me and now I'm pregnant with your child who was conceived out of guilt because you cheated and lied to me!" I yelled at him.
"Tessa. Please. Let's talk about this. I can explain. Just let me explain, please," Bradley said, coming up to me.
"Get away from me! I can't even look at you now," I tell him before moving away from him.
I grabbed my wallet, sweater, and car keys before walking out to the garage.
"Tessa, where are you going?" Bradley asked.
"Anywhere but here."
I got into my car and drove off quickly to get away from Bradley. Everything inside me was hurting. I tried to wipe my tears away as I drove off. I didn't even realize how fast I was going. All I could think of was Bradley and that woman who stopped by.
Bradley's P.O.V
I let out a sigh as I stared over at the hole in the wall. I couldn't even remember when I did that. That scared me honestly. Tessa had rushed off and turned off her phone so I couldn't call her. I ran my fingers through my hair as I tried to think of ways to get her to forgive me.
Ever since I have gotten closer to her, I have started to fall in love with her more than before. For once, we were happy as a married couple. I had to admit, I wasn't a good husband before the affair. Once I woke up from that hotel room that day, I realized how much I messed up. I didn't mean to cheat on Tessa. I didn't even want to but-
My phone interrupted my thoughts making me answer it quickly. I didn't bother to look at the ID.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Bradley Bain?"
"Yes. This is him," I said.
"This is the UCLA Hospital calling in regards to your wife, Tessa Bain. She's been in a terrible accident and is here with us right now. We advise you to come over here as soon as you can."
