“I THINK WE SHOULD RENT a car,” Nick said, looking around for a rental agency.
“No need,” Kate contradicted him. “I have my car parked here in the long-term parking. It’s not a girly car, but a big, mean SUV,” Kate continued cheerfully, and the guys started laughing.
“We’d have survived even with a different car, Kate, no worries,” Ryan told her and kissed her palm, something he seemed to enjoy doing a lot.
She beamed at him and led them to the parking lot where she had left the car before taking the plane for Istanbul.
“Ta-da, this is it,” she said, showing them a sturdy Ford Escape. She was very proud of her car.
“That’ll work,” Nick said. “Not bad for a girl,” he elbowed her and chuckled.
