Lim had driven her home, and by the front doors of the diner, he passed her a gift bag. She opened it, hesitantly, wondering why he would bestow her with a gift. Then she remembered Carla telling her how generous he was, and to expect him to shower her with lavish gifts. Inside, she found a small velvet red box.
'Open it' he requested.
She was not used to recieving gifts, and he smiled at her gaucherie. It was endearing.
She clumsily opened the box, dropping the gift bag, which he expertly intercepted, before it hit the ground. She found inside, the most beautiful charm bracelet she had ever laid eyes on. Dripping from every angle was a diamond encrusted charm, a heart, a musical note, a star, and flowers. He helped her close the clasp around her slender wrist, and she was speechless.
