Chapter 6

After the 1st few weeks working with Carter has been crazy. I have been dressing up, looking like a slut in Carter's eyes just to be close to him. Monica says he likes his woman like that.

Carter had me drive for him in a race to get money back. He read up my background that I use to do heist. So I had done a few of those. On top of getting beat up by men and women after I tried to rob them.

Like now, I'm in the middle of going to a high class house and get into their house and rob them. Once I had gotten in, I got to the vault hacked the code. When I was putting everything in a bag, a woman had came in and we started beating each other up. But she had enough when I threw her into the pool table. Once she was done, I grabbed the bag and ran out the house. I got into my car and drove to Carter's house. When I got there, I stumbled in the house to go to Carter's office where Monica was sitting at on his desk.

"What the hell happened to you?" Both of them asked.

"Little miss sunshine came home and found me. She was not happy. I give it to her, she had a few good hits in her." I said as I dropped the bag on the desk and sat down in the chair.

"Mario, fetch Elena an ice pack." Carter called out.

I sat there listening to what Carter and Monica were talking about. Mario came in with an ice pack and a towel. I put it on my cheek.

"Elena, Lexi at work?" He asked me.

"Yes, she don't get off til midnight." I said.

"Great, how about we all go to the club tonight. Monica get my boys to meet us there. And you go home and change." Carter told us.

I nodded and walked out. I got in my car and drove home. When I got home, Brian and Roman were sitting at the opening of the boat talking. When I came down the dock, they looked at me. Roman jumped up and ran to me.

"What the hell happened to you?" He asked me.

"A heist gone wrong." I said as I stumbled into the boat.

"What do you mean?" Brian asked.

"Carter found out back in LA, I done heist." I said as Roman help me sit down. "So he's been having me break into rich houses all day. The ones that people own him money."

"Wait so if he looked in your past that means he can see all of ours." Roman said.

"Yea. And can see I'm a cop. f**k we're fucked." Brian said.

"Yea," I said as I got up.

"Where you going?" Roman asked.

"To get dressed. Carter invited me to join him at his club where Lexi works at. He had asked me if she was working tonight." I said as I walked down inside the boat to my room.

I took a nice hot shower to wash away the blood that was on me from the woman hitting me. After the shower, I put on my mini skirt with knee high boots and silk gold glitter crop top. I put on some gold glitter eye shadow and dark red lipstick. I brushed my hair a little and put gel and moose in my hair to make it curly a little.

Once I was done, I grabbed my keys, phones and purse. I walked up top to where the boys were still at. Roman's eyes got all big when he saw me.

"Damn, you can't even tell you were beat up." Roman said being a smartass. I pouched him. "Ow." He said rubbing his arm. "Damn can't take a complement."

"Well thanks. Well I'm off. See y'all later." I said as I got on the dock.

As I walked up the dock to my car, I could tell Roman was staring at my ass. I shook my head.

"Stop staring at my ass Roman."

"How did you know?"

"I know you."

Brian and Roman chuckled.

When I got to my car, I drove to Pearl Champagne Lounge, and gave the man that was coming to me, my keys. I walked inside the nightclub and everyone was either dancing or drink or both. I walked in further and noticed Lexi at the bar.

I walked over there and kissed her on her cheek.

"Hey what you doing here?" She asked me.

"Work. Carter invited me to join him." I told her.

"Elena, want anything?" Bruce asked me.

"Yea, give me my favorite, s*x on the beach. Please." I told Bruce.

As I stood there, someone came to my ear. I turned to look to see who it was.

"You look stunning." Carter told me.

"Why thank you." I told him.

"Lexi, I'll be at my table." Carter told Lexi.

"Yes, Mr. Carter." Lexi said.

I kissed Lexi and walked with carter to his table. When we got there he pulled my chair out and I sat down as he sat across from me.

"You really do look great. Lexi sure found a good one." Carter told me. "Like you can't even tell you was beat up."

"Well thanks. I try my best to look great." I told him.

About 20 minutes later Lexi came over to give us another drink and Carter pulled her close to his mouth. Then she walked away. As I was still sipping in my last drink, Brian and Roman show up with Monica.

"Elena?" Brian and Roman said shockingly.

"Brian, Roman, what are you doing here?" I had asked as I sat my drink down.

"Ah I see you three know each other already." Carter said.

"Brian's my brother, and well Roman is my ex." I told Carter.

I looked at the boys. "Why are you two here. I'm a big girl, I don't need y'all to check up on me." I told them.

"We're not here for you. Monica came and told us that Carter wanted us to join him as well." Brian told me.

"Join us for what?" I asked Carter as I looked at him.

"Well since we're all here follow me." Carter told us.

I drank the last of my drink and got up and followed them to wherever. I looked at Monica for a moment.

"If they were the boys he was talking about, I could have told them myself." I whispered to her.

"I'm sorry. He didn't know y'all were family. And I didn't know if y'all wanted him to know yet." She told me.

We walked into a room and found fat guy peeing. I looked away from him as Carter grabbed ahold of him.

"Detective Whitworth, you and your team have been on my s**t list."

"Carter, I'm sorry. We try to do our best as you asked."

"Well your gonna have to pay the price." Carter told him as he pulled him onto a table.

Two men came in when a bucket and a blow torch. Carter ripped his shirt and a guy put a rat on his stomach and placed the bucket on top of it. The other guy had started the blow torch up and started hitting the bucket.

"Monica place your hands on his mouth. Elena hold his legs down."

I looked at the boys and done what Carter asked me to do. I was scared but I done what I had to do.

"Brian, Roman, and Elena, this is what people get for doing me wrong. Or worse." Carter said.

"Its biting me." The cop had said.

"Good. They say when the rat is trapped and the too is hot it goes down where it is cooler." Carter said. "Now, I want you to tell your team to lay off so my boys can do what they have to do. Now give me your word."

"Whatever you say." He says. "Get it off of me."

"That's not the answer I want."

"Fine, I'll tell them. Now please stop."

Carter stopped and let the man go. He looked at both me and Monica then my brother and Roman.

"Boys you got the go to what we talked about earlier." He told them.

Its not the wording, but close to what had happened with eh whole rat thing.



They nodded then looked at me. I looked at Monica then Carter then back at the boys. Then ran off. I was about to cry for what just happened.

"Elena, wait!" Roman called to me when I got out in the hall.

"Roman, stop. I just want to go home and take a shower to get off what I just did." I said.

"Elena, I know what happened back there freaked you out. It freaked me out too, just watching you hold him down. We may not be together, but I still care for you." He told me.

I nodded and leaned into him. He wrapped his arms around me for a moment until Brian showed up.

"You good?" He asked me.

I nodded then walked away. I went and found Lexi told her I was going home that I will see her tomorrow.

Once I got home, I took a nice long hot shower, scrubbed the hell out of my skin just to get off what I done.

When I was done, I put my night clothes on and got into bed. I laid there for it seems like forever, until I passed out.

While sleeping, I kept tossing and turning, re living what had happened. But the thing that got me was that it was me. The rat was eating me.

I woke up screaming. All sweaty and everything. Roman came running into the room with a gun in his hand. Freaked me out even more, making me jump.

"Elena, are you okay?" He asked me.

"No, the rat was eating me. Carter was letting the rat eat me." I said rocking myself back and forth.

"Look none of that is gonna happen to you. Trust me." Roman told me as he got into the bed and held me in his arms.

"Hope not. I just feel like because we're undercover and he's gonna find out. Its gonna me."

"No, now go back to sleep. I'll lay here with you til you pass out." Roman told me.

I nodded and laid my head on his chest. He wrapped his arm around me, to cuddle me. To make sure I was safe from any harm.

By morning came, I was alone. I got up and walked out of my room to find something to drink and eat. Brian came onto the boat and looked at me.

"Morning." He told me.

"Morning." I said back.

"Roman told me what happened middle of the night." Brian said. "Roman is a good man in Elena, I just hope,"

"Brian, we've already talk about all of that. Both Roman agreed or at least he did, but I told him we can't. That it was fun what we did but I can't." I told him.

Right about that time, my work phone was ringing. I rolled my eyes and answered it.

"Yes, Carter?" I answered.

"How you feeling today? I know you were feeling a little off last night." He asked me.

I looked at Brian. "I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"I need you to do something for me."

"Like what, Carter? If its anything like last night I'm not doing."

"No. No, not like that. And I am sorry for having you do that. I need you to race for me again. I have this guy thinks he can f**k me over. I want you to find him, race, him do whatever to him." Carter told me.

"Really, find him, race him, then do whatever to him?" I questioned.

"Yes, if you can kill him, it will be great." Carter told me.

"Kill him," I said as I stood up from my chair. "Carter that's worse than last night."

"You will do it, or poor Lexi will lose her job." Carter was saying. "Matter of fact, I'm looking right at her pretty little face right now."

"I swear to god Carter, if you touch her in any way I'll kill you myself." I said as I was walking back and forth.

Roman can in from outside after me yelling. Brian looked at him then at me.

"Fine Carter, I'll do it. Just leave Lexi out of this please." I pleaded with him.

"Good girl, Elena. Now you have until tonight to see me after its done." He says then hangs up on me.

I turned around and stormed into my room, Roman and Brian following behind me. I didn't car if they saw me get undressed or dressed again. I threw on some black tights with a black shirt and my leather jacket and boots. I threw my hair up and grabbed my keys.

"Elena, you can't do this." Brian was telling me.

"I have to." I said as I walked past him.

Roman grabbed my arm and spun me around. "Elena, stop."

"No, you stop. He has Lexi's job on the line. More like her life." I said as I jerked my arm away from him. "Just stay out of it. Just do what you two have to do."

After I said that, I ran out the boat off to the docks when I ran into Monica.

"Elena, what's wrong?" She asked me.

"Carter has Lexi's life on the line if I don't race this guy then kill him." I told her.

"So your who he was talking to when I left." She told me.

I nodded then walked away from her. When I got to my car, I went to the address that Carter sent me and found the guy. When I got there, I reached under my seat and grabbed my gun that I keep under there, I put it in my pants under my shirt then out.

"Hey you, I got a bone to pick with you." I said when I got out of the car.

"Yea and what is that?" He asked me.

"Carter sent me. You owe him money. Now I came to race yea, if I win, you give me the money you owe him. If I lose well something bad is gonna happen." I told him.

"Like sure there will be." He said as he cracked his neck.

"What's it gonna be?" I asked.

"Fine, I'll race yea pretty little ass." He told me. "Here to the next two blocks. Just straight down the line." He said as he pointed out.

"Gotcha." I said as I got back into the car.

I drove up to where he was going to. I reved up my car a little and waited til the light turned green. When it turned green, we were off. I got a head of him for about a light and a half until he had hit me. He made me go to the left a little but I got a hold of the car. When we reached our mark, I of course won. I pulled over to a empty lot and he followed. When I got out, so did he.

"I won, now pay up." I told him.

"Well, this is all I have." He said as he reached into his car and handed me a bag. "There's his 50k. That's all I owe him. Tell him next time don't send a girl to do his dirty work." He said as he went to get back into the car.

As he opened the door, I got my gun out. "Look here I ain't just a pretty girl. I'm the bitch." I said as I shot him.

I took a deep breathe then got into my car with the bag. I put my gun back under the seat and drove off. As I was driving, I was counting the money. There was 50k. I shook my head. I got about a block from Carter's when I pulled over. I grabbed the bag and went to the trunk to opened up my hiding spot. I re counted the money again and hid 25k in my spot.

If he wants to hold Lexi's life for this f*****g money, well he's only gotta get half.

After zipping up the money bag, I got back in the car with it and went to Carter's. When I walked in, Lexi was sitting in his office.

I threw the bag on the desk. "There's the f*****g money he says he owes you. And I killed his ass after he got mouthy with me." I told him.

"Thank you." He said as he opened up the bag and started counting it. "Did you count the money after he gave it to you?"

"Yea, I counted 25k. That is what he said he owed you, right?" I asked trying not to get caught. "He told me to count it." I lied.

"Did he tell you how much he owed me?"

"He just said there's 25k that he owes you. Why what's wrong?" I asked.

"Well he's wrong. He owes me 50k. Damnit. Thank god you killed him for me, or I would had to have done it myself." He told me.

"Well he did say what pissed me off was next time don't send a girl to do your dirty work." I told him. "So I shot him."

"Well your not just any type of girl Elena." He told me. "Your the girl, perfect, beautiful in every way. Like I said before, I see why Lexi likes you." Carter said as he looked at both of us. "You two may go. Just keep picking up the phone."

I nodded and grabbed Lexi's hand and got out of there. When we got to the car, I had went to Tej hang out to get a drink. When I got there, I saw Roman and Brian talking to Jimmy.

When I pulled up, my girl Suki was drawing on a sketch pad. I walked over to her when I got out with Lexi behind me.

"Hey baby," she said as she saw me walking over.

I leaned down to kiss her. "Hey Suki. Is that for the new car?" I asked her.

"Yea it is." She told me. "Hey Lexi, you lookin good." She told Lexi.

"Thanks."

"Go get something to drink, I need to talk to someone real quick." I told Lexi.

Lexi nodded and walked away. I looked at Suki for a moment and told her to follow me over to Tej.

"Can you follow?" I told her.

She nodded. "Sure."

She got up and we went over to Tej. He looked at me for a moment.

"Your brother shows up now you. What's wrong?" Tej asked me.

"Tej, baby." I said as I kissed him. "I need you and Suki's help. I need you two to get Lexi out of town for me." I told them.

"Why what's wrong?" Tej asked.

"I'm working undercover with Brian and Roman for Carter Verone." I told them. "And he's a son of a bitch."

"Yea, I heard about him. Where she at?" Tej asked.

"Over at the bar." I said as I looked at her. She looked at me and waved. I waved her over to come here. When she came over, I grabbed her hand. "Lexi, Tej and Suki is gonna get you out of town. I can't have you here with me going undercover hunting down Carter."

"Well I need off at 6 tonight, y'all can pick me from there." Lexi said. "I have to pick up all my stuff up from the club."

"Okay, we'll meet you there." Suki told her.

"Tej, Suki, thank you so much. I owe you guys big time." I said as I hugged them.

"Yea you do." They said at the same time.

I smiled at them then walked away with Lexi beside me. Brian saw me and nodded. I nodded back before I got into the car.

"Lexi, I love you so much. And as I'm working for the FBI, I just don't want you around when we get him. Please don't take this to heart." I told her as I started up the car.

"No, I get it. Carter is a bad man." She told me.

"I love you, and I'll find you when this is all over with." I told her.

She nodded and gave me a kiss. I drove her home so she could get ready for work. When I dropped her off, I drove to the police station. When I got there Bilkins looked at me.

"We have to get Carter now. I'm over the jobs he's having me do." I told him.

"I know, Monica told me that he had Lexi. Is she fine?" Markham asked.

"Yes, now she is. I'm having a couple friends get her out of town." I told them. "But after this last job, he had me kill someone."

"Yea, we know. You shot one of our own." Markham told me as he waved his hand.

A man came over to us. It was the same man I raced and shot.

"You," the man said as he got into my face.

"I'm sorry. I had to do it." I told the guy when he got into my face.

"If it wasn't for my vest being on, you would have killed me."

"Look, I didn't like it anymore than you did so back the f**k up now." I said.

Roman and Brian came running over. Roman grabbed me pushed me back a little.

"What's going on here?" Brian asked.

"This b***h shot me after she raced me."

"I'll show you a bitch." I said as I went to slap him.

"Knock it off the both of you." Markham said as he got in the middle of us.

"Well we got more of a problem. The thing is going down tonight. Monica just came to warn us, before Carter's buddies came to visit us." Brian spoke.

"Okay, after you two, get the money and go to where y'all need to be. Hit us up so we can stop Carter Verone for once and for all." Bilkins said.

"Elena, I want you to work with your brother and Roman on this. Stick with them." Markham told me. "We'll be listening in on the radios we have on the cars, if something goes down, just say code 8."

I nodded. "Let's get this bastard." I said as I walked away.

After all the s**t I've been put through, I was ready for anything. I got to my car and rode with Brian and Roman over to Carter's. When we got there, his two buddies where waiting for us.

"Let's roll. Carter doesn't like to wait." One of his guys said.

"Where is Carter?" I asked.

"Waiting for us where we need to drop everything off." The other guy told me. "I'm sure these two have you up to speed huh?"

"Yes, they told me."

"Good, let's go."

We all got into our cars and head to a trailer park. I was so confused where we were going. When we pulled up, a man came out of a trailer and looked at Carter's guys. They were talking in Spanish, and that was one thing I didn't pay attention in school.

The guy ran and got into a car and drove off. We all we into the trailer and Brian and Roman started hitting the walls with sledge hammers. After the 10th time hitting the wall, money started pouring out. The boys filled up the bags with the money until, we heard police sirens. We all ran to our cars and drove off bat out of hell.

Once we left the park, I got hit back a cop car. I looked over at them getting pissed off. I grabbed the radio to speak with Brian and Roman.

"Y'all can go any faster. I'm getting hit with f*****g cop." I yelled.

As I said that, a cop hit me from behind, making me hit my gas and hitting Roman ass end.

"f**k Elena, I get you love me but don't need to hit my ass." Roman said jokingly.

"Rom, no need for your jokes now. Hit it, now." I yelled into the radio.

Brian sped up a little making Roman do the same. We took all types of turns to loose them.

"Hey, y'all let's take Tej's place and switch out." Brian said into the radio.

"10-4 brother." I said.

I shifted into the next gear to go around Brian and Roman to get away from the cops. As I got to Tej, I rolled in the door and yelled out to the others.

"Heads up y'all." I yelled.

I wasn't switching up my car. Only Brian and Roman were. They had a back up in the cars that they won from two guys that had raced them once before. They had ejectable seats so when the time came, they could eject Carter's guys out of the car.

Once Brian and Roman got to the garage, they shut the doors for a moment. All you can hear was the cops outside yelling we got you surrounded. I laughed a little. Jimmy was in his big SUV, ready to go to the meeting spot after Brian and Roman got rid if the guys. Brian, Roman, and the guys got out and got into their switches cars. After that, the garage doors were opened and all the big trucks were rolling out moving the cop cars out of the way. Then it was all of the racing cars rolling out. On top of Brian, Roman, and I.

After rolling out like we did, we hurried and got to where we were suppose to go. As soon as I was about to go, I get a text from Carter telling me to come to the dock 14 where he was at on his boat. So I went there.

When I got there about a few minutes later, Brian showed up but not Roman. I felt like this was a trap of some sort. When I got out of the car, Carter showed up on top of his boat with Monica and Lexi.

"Elena!" Lexi cried out.

"Lexi!" I yelled. I went to run up to her when Carter had put a gun to her head. "Carter, what are you doing?" I asked as I stopped.

"Well a little birdie told me that they were dating a cop and that this cop was sending her away." Carter had said.

"Carter please don't do anything to her." I pleaded with him.

"Well I tell you what, get the money bag from your brother and come here with it. Then I will let your precious girlfriend go." He told me.

I looked at her for a moment then looked at Carter. I nodded then walked over to Brian. I grabbed the money bag from Brian then went back over to Carter. When I got to Carter, I set the bag down and he let go of Lexi.

I hugged her for dear life and pushed her towards Brian. "Go stand by my brother." I told her.

As I was about to walked a few feet behind her, Carter grabbed ahold of me and put the gun to my head.

"Elena!" Brian called out.

"I'll be fine. Just take care of Lexi for me." I said.

"Elena, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do anything to harm you. I love you." Lexi cried out.

"It will be okay. I love you too." I told her.

"Well I did say I let her go," Carter said at first til I her a gun shot and Lexi was falling down.

"Lexi!" I screamed.

I was in shocked. I didn't know what to do. All I know was to fight. I looked up and saw his arm, I grabbed it and elbowed him in the stomach at the same time. After he dropped the gun, I kicked it out in the water and turned around to pouch him in the face. After that I went to run to Lexi to check on her but as I went to step off the boat, I was being pulled by the hair and thrown down on the boat floor.

As he put his foot on my throat, he grabbed another gun out of his pants, and pointed it to Monica.

"Start the boat and get going." Carter yelled at Monica.

She went over to the wheel and started the boat up and we rode away from there.

As I was on the floor, watching Carter, holding onto his leg. I tried my hardest to get him off on me.

"Elena!" I hear both Brian and Roman calling me.

With what voice I could use, I used it. "Brian!" I yelled.

As we were floating away, I stayed where I was. Trying to think what I was going to do. I even tried to think of what Dom would do to save me or help me.

As I looked around close to me, I found a nail on the floor and stabbed it into his leg.

He yelled and moved off of me. I kicked up on my back to stay up. As he went to swing at me I dodged it and pouched him. He hit me a few times but I hit even harder. As I was hitting him, I heard a car engine and saw Roman's car coming our way. When I looked I got pouched in the face and fell on the floor.

As I went to get up, the boat moved wildly. When I tried to get up, I had saw Roman busting his window out to get out of the car.

"Move any closer, she's died." Carter said as I felt him put the gun to the back of my head.

I looked at Roman as he stood there at the back of his car. I was scared for my life, I didn't know what to do by this point. Then I hear Monica and a shotgun fire. I jumped a little thinking it was me for a moment.

"Hey Carter!" Monica says then shoots him in the arm.

As soon as it happens Roman grabbed me and held me in his arms. Then here came a police boat to come get Monica, Roman, and I. Roman went to the back of his car and got the money bag and threw it onto the boat. Then Roman helped me onto the boat and held me in his arms as a policeman put a blanket over us.

When we got back to shore, Brian was talking to Bilkins and Markham until he saw me.



"

Elena!" He yelled as he ran over to the boat.

Roman handed me over to Brian while he helped Monica out. Brian grabbed the blanket from Roman and wrapped it around me and hugged me.

Markham and Bilkins walked over to us with an yellow envelope. He handed it to me.

"This is for you." Markham told me.

"What is it?" I asked as I opened it.

"Some of Lexi's stuff and the money that she had on her." Bilkins said.

"I'm guessing Carter paid her about you." Brian said.

"That would be the only way he would have found out." I said.

"You three are free to go. Just stay out of trouble from now on." Markham told us.

"Well you got all 6 bags of the money, and you say that our records are clear right?" Roman asked.

"Yes, you guys helped us out. There's a car out by the road waiting for y'all to take y'all home. Just keep it in one piece will yea." Bilkins told us.

"Well nice working with you boys and Elena." Monica told us.

"Same to you." We all said.

The three of us, started walking away from the others as we went to the car.

"So you staying in Miami?" Brian asked Roman.

"Hell yea, I love Miami." Roman told Brian.

"I miss home." I had said. "I don't even want to be here in Miami anymore."

"Well, I got some money," Brian said as he took a wad of money out of his pockets.

"I ain't gonna be hungry either." Roman said as he pulled up his shirt.

I shook my head and went to my car. "How in the hell did we all do something like this?" I asked as I opened my secret pot in my trunk and showed them the bag.

"Damn, how the f**k you get that?" Roman asked.

"You know the cop I shotaced well he gave me 50K well I took half of it and lied to Carter about it." I said laughing a little.



After all the bullshit I went through working for Carter, I deserved the money. But after what happened with Lexi, I didn't want to be here anymore. I went to visit her family and told them what happened. I gave her mother the money she was given to give me up, which was only a couple grand. After that, I went and got all my stuff, packed it in baby and set for west again.

Brian and Roman stayed in Miami to work with Tej for awhile. They were trying to see how they can start they own business. But my life was in LA; Los Angeles, California.
