Trapping Adi 2

1023 Words
Zayden Rhodes How did I end up marrying Adi for real in that wedding booth? The Rhodes family has this kind of family tradition where the heir’s capacity is measured by how he handles a family. I am the sole heir of Rhodes companies, real estate, and other wealth. My grandfather was pushing me to marry this early to see my strength. A good businessman is a good leader. And to be a good leader you have to be a good family man first. That’s my grandfather’s mantra. That day, we had a big fight at home. They’re all tired of fixing all the troubles I get into – bar fights, low grades, etc. It’s just that my family can fix it with money so I still have this clean reputation despite the headaches I’m causing them. So, Grandpa was fed up and he again brought up the marriage thing, and this time I couldn’t just believe he was serious. He’s ready to disinherit me unless I show him a marriage certificate within 24 hours. Trouble, I went to school with that problem lingering in my head. “Here are the documents you asked me to get, sir,” my butler handed me the marriage certificate. I sighed as I looked at it. Where the hell would I get a bride this time? I asked myself. Then, the wedding booth caught my sight and my eyes gleamed with hope. I cannot just pick up a bride anywhere here! I was drowning in my thoughts as I sat in the gazebo. And then, here she is, she just arrived, she just came like an angel. My attention was suddenly fixed on that girl who sat on the bench in front of me. Addison Williams. How could I not know her? She’s famous for being the laughing stock, for being called ugly, but honestly, I do not find her one. She’s simple. She’s ordinary looking perhaps because she’s wearing no makeup, and her fashion sense is out of trend. And oh! Those thick glasses were hiding her pretty eyes! I could see that she also had a sculpted figure only that her school uniform was too loose on her. God! She doesn’t know how to dress well or to fix herself! If only she knew, perhaps she wouldn’t be picked on for being weird and ugly! Or is it just that she’s not aware of her beauty? But, nevertheless, I know my grandpa will be pleased when he’ll meet her. She likes women of character like Adi. She’s fragile, yet I know she’s strong. She wouldn’t have endured a hellish life here in Brooks if she’s not. And right there at that moment, looking at the fragile girl sitting in front of me, I know then that I have found my bride. “ I’ll pay you big time, just don’t let her run away from me!” I talk to the school guards. I’m Zayden Rhodes. No one says no to me here in this school. If it takes paying the entire students of Brooks College just to bring Adisson Williams to the wedding booth for me, then I will do it. — “I am now a family man, Grandpa!” I announced excitedly when I went home. I handed the marriage certificate to my grandfather. I thought that would be the end of my calvary. I was thinking of withdrawing the marriage right away after I showed the certificates to him, but Grandpa’s demands just escalated and I wasn’t expecting that. “Oh! Well, I guess it’s time you bring your wife home! I’m excited to see you two building a family!” Grandpa exclaimed. And I was speechless. Grandpa did all in his power to bring Adi to Rhodes's residence, and the next thing I knew we were already living as a married couple. —-- Adi Send off Night As we were all in our last year in college, anytime soon we would be graduating so the school decided to give us a send-off night party. Ever since I lived in the Rhodes residence life for me has been difficult. It’s not that the Rhodes are rude but the mean girls in school see to it I’ll get punished by marrying Zyd for real plus the gossip circulating around about how I do not deserve to be Zyd’s wife. At this point, I’m still groping about what Zyd’s really feeling for me. It was always my dream to marry for love but here I am tossed into this kind of marriage, married to a man who doesn't love me. Well, he’s nice to me, at least, but that doesn’t mean he loves me. Actually, everyone in the Rhodes family was nice to me, especially Grandpa, but that doesn’t change the fact about how our wedding was done. I remember how my mom was intimidated that day when Grandpa went to our home to fetch me. I thought that my marriage with Zayden was going to be just on paper, but that’s not what Grandpa wants. I almost spit my coffee when I heard Grandpa telling my mom that he wanted a grandson with Zayden. Grandpa was polite but his presence was greatly intimidating, plus we all know how influential he is that it's hard for us to say no to his proposal. The next day, I found myself moving to Rhodes residence, living with Zayden. I heard that green is your favorite color. You will look good on this. I read on the note written along with the green satin evening dress with slit and spaghetti strap. I was touched by his gesture. Though we were living together we haven’t talked about the send-off night party. I assumed that Zayden would be with his friends that night so I didn’t ask a thing. And this? I’m a little thrilled thinking he did not forget to think about me concerning tonight’s party. You will look good on this. His words linger in my thoughts. And there I got the confidence to wear such a dress although it's way out of my style.
