I couldn’t believe my ears. What was the blare that had struck me on my head? It took me quite a while to get my eyes clear on the line. A large thud and a thump. My mom’s loud groans and then that flicker of a light. I smacked my cheeks to get a vivid image but my brain was acting like a post-meningitis session. Dust and debris flew around in the air, tit bits of it leaking and scratching my eyes. How annoying. The first thing I heard was mom’s cries. “Lil!
