They all had lunch at the Farm, with the Rodhocetus peacefully seated at Byia’s feet.
The Farmworkers were smiling by seeing the once angry animal so calm and relaxed, right next to that little female who was feeding him food from her plate, especially the food that she didn’t like.
The voyage back to School right after a very amusing lunch was hard for Guyi, but Byia had a blast again, with her Rodhocetus swimming next to her, easily matching the convoy’s speed.
Occasionally, he would increase the speed to catch a distracted fish to eat, and he even brought some for Byia, showing her that he was even faster than the Rodhocetus that were pulling the convoy. Byia smiled and rubbed his snout every time he brought a fish, perfectly aware that he was faster because he wasn’t pulling a convoy like the others were.
While approaching the School, Byia’s Rodhocetus was happily swimming next to the ones that were pulling the convoy, neighing at them occasionally, as if he were cheering for them.
When the convoy landed in the School’s backyard, Guyi quickly exited and did his best not to throw up. Byia tapped his back with a big smile. “That was so much fun! Nice of you to keep your lunch inside! What can I do with all these fish? My Rodhocetus kept on bringing them to me!”
Guyi had to cover his nose with both paws because the smell of the dead fish was making him nauseous again.
The driver placed one hand on Byia’s left shoulder and smiled at her. “I can take care of that and give them as a snack for the group of Rodhocetus that brought us here. I think they deserve a nice reward. What do you say?”
Byia nodded and handed over all the fish. Then she heard a voice from behind her. “Well, well, Baby Byia returned from her trip. You should have stayed amongst those Farm fish, where you belong!”
Byia turned to face Nayima Fiet, but before she could say anything, Sveta Roolyi tapped Nayima’s head and stared at her real close. “So, she is one of your former classmates, Byia? Do you want me to bite her head off? I am rather hungry. She is kind of small, but I could use a snack right now.”
Then, from Nayima’s other side, the muscular, light grey Dragon asked in his harsh voice, “Not if I take her first. Can I, Byia? Pretty please?”
Nayima frowned and made a weird smile. “Who are these morons, Baby Byia? Your bodyguards?”
Byia answered while pointing at Nayima and sending a mental order, “No, he is. …||… Fetch! …||…”
Byia’s Rodhocetus grabbed Nayima with his mouth on her waist and threw her to the ground, right in front of his owner.
Byia tilted her head at the scared female while the Rodhocetus was growling. “It seems you didn’t learn your lesson, so let me explain how this is going to be. From now on, you will stay away from me. If you make any kind of plan to get me, or if you even look at me in a weird way, your life will end abruptly. I tried to avoid this, but it seems you are too stupid to understand things on your first try.”
Byia approached Nayima’s face and spoke in a very low voice, her eyes bright red. Nayima began to tremble when she saw her reflection in Byia’s eyes. “I am going to show you something, but I don’t think you are going to like it… ‘ìomhaigh inntinn’… Look into my eyes and see every possible future if you stand in my way…”
Nayima saw in Byia’s eyes her own death, over and over. Byia using a dagger on her throat in the middle of the night while she was sleeping; Guyi slicing her head during Gymnastics, pretending to be an accident; that big dark green female taking her head off in the School’s bathroom; that muscular light grey Dragon eating her insides inside the School’s Library; and that scary animal ripping her apart, limb by limb. Then, the images faded, and Nayima was staring again into Byia’s red eyes and saw her backing away, disgusted.
Nayima felt her body trembling, and tears ran down her face. Then she smelled her piss floating around her, and everyone backed away.
Byia spoke again with a weird smile. “Now you know… You are way above your head, Princess. You are nothing to me except a nuisance that I can get rid of whenever I deem fit.”
Byia swam away without wasting another second, looking at the crying and pissing yellow female. The Rodhocetus growled one last time and followed her with her classmates right on his tail.
Guyi was the last one to leave, and he looked around at his former classmates, who were looking at Nayima without knowing what had just happened. “I warned you all in the Gym. Don’t mess with Byia or with me, because things won’t end well for any of you. Byia just talked for a few seconds with the yellow Princess over there, and she pissed herself all over. We can be your best friends if you want, or your worst enemies. It’s your choice.”
Guyi left after making a disgusted look at the yellow female lying on the ground. His former Teacher asked from a distance, not daring to approach the dirty water, “Are you okay, Nayima? I will get the School’s Healer… And the Cleaning Lady…”
While the Teacher was swimming in search of help, Nayima sat on the ground with her arms around her tail, bouncing back and forth, crying and trembling nonstop.
Her mind couldn’t yet grasp what happened, but she remembered everything she saw in Byia’s eyes; those images were running inside her head over and over, and she couldn’t stop trembling.
Meanwhile, Byia was peacefully seated at her desk with her Rodhocetus outside, looking at her through the window. Her new Teacher was at his desk, thinking, while the rest of the class was going to their places.
When everyone was in silence, he asked, “Byia, what did you do to that young yellow female? I know you used some strange Magic or was it a Skill?”
“A bit of both. I unlocked a Skill last Tide, which lets me create mental images anywhere I want. I used a Spell that showed her where she would be in the future. Well, not really her future, because I used that Spell and my Skill to show her some fake images in my eyes. I also misled her into thinking that those were some futures of what would happen if she tried something against me. I think I was very angry, and my red eyes showing her some scary images will probably be enough to make her stay away from me.”
The Teacher gave a slight smile. “Cleaver girl… You mixed that Skill with an advanced Spell and fooled her. What did she see?”
“Nothing much, just her own death in different ways. She might take a while to recover, but she will eventually be okay. I think. I never actually did something this scary; normally I just like to fool my brother.”
“Well, I guess you had your reasons, but you honestly think she deserved all that? You were supposed to be a nice and sweet little Water-Dragon, remember?”
Byia gave a slight smile. “I never said I was nice and sweet, Teacher. I have a life plan, and that spoiled brat was making a mess with my life, and I was losing focus. She took a liking to bullying me, and I kept thinking about ways to hurt her every time I saw her instead of working towards what I really wanted to do. I guess now I can concentrate on my task.”
“Do you mind filling me in? I am rather curious.”
“Not yet, Teacher. On another opportunity, maybe.”
The Teacher nodded and got up. “Well, that’s okay, I guess, as long as you don’t go too far. Considering that your former classmates and Teacher didn’t see much of what happened, I think you will be okay. If not, well, you must face the consequences. So, some of you found out with today’s trip what you can do in the future if you want. Our little Byia even got herself a very nice companion to train. As for the rest of you, tough luck; maybe next time. Now, to end our day in full glory, write an essay of not less than three thousand words about what you expect your future to be like. As usual, you will have a countdown of thirty minutes. You may begin… now!”
Guyi looked around in disbelief while everyone went for their pencils and papers. The Teacher noticed his surprised look and spoke, “Welcome to class 3-A, Guyi Mohryi! You are wasting precious seconds that you might need to finish.”
While Guyi and the others were writing like crazy to meet the deadline, Paullu Calla was leaning against a tree at his usual spot.
Then, he heard a loud bump on the ground right next to him, and he saw Drezara Forgge rubbing her tail. He tilted his head, still wondering why she liked so much to play that weird game if she kept hurting herself. “Are you okay? You are always hitting the ground or going against the wall of the Gym.”
Drezara Forgge frowned and pointed to the members of the other team. “It’s their fault, not mine! It seems I annoyed a bunch of them because I went home with you yesterday, and they saw us arriving together this morning. I guess I put a target on my back, and they keep hitting me even when I don’t have the ball!”
“I don’t get it. Why would they be mad at you just because of that?”
Drezara Forgge rolled up her eyes. “Geez, at least make an effort and look at the World around you! Because they all like you, and they are jealous of me!”
“That’s strange; why would they like me? They don’t even know me! I never talked with any of them!”
“I guess they like your looks. If they found out how distracted you are, they would probably lose interest. Or not. Some of them don’t seem to mind; they just want a pretty boyfriend to show off.”
Paullu frowned while looking up, only to see a bunch of waving females smiling at him. “That’s so weird! I am not a trophy to decorate a female’s arm! What about you? You also want a pretty boyfriend?”
“Not really; I prefer a weird one like you; it’s funnier like that. The fact that you are also very attractive is just a bonus.”
Paullu tilted his head while checking Drezara’s tail for broken bones. “I don’t know if you complimented me or called me a bad name.”
Drezara slapped his hand and pulled back her tail. “Watch your hands, you p*****t! You can’t grab a female’s tail like that! At least kiss me first!”
“I… I was just checking if you were hurt; I didn’t mean to…”
Drezara placed one index claw over Paullu’s lips and kissed his left cheek. She spoke while looking at him closely. “You need to learn when I am joking. Probably we need to find a signal or something. I am going again, but I will probably fall a couple more times, judging by the way they are looking at me.”
Paullu shouted while she was leaving, “You shouldn’t probably have kissed me, then!”
And Drezara shouted back, increasing the anger of her rivals, “It was totally worth it, just to see your surprised face!”
Paullu smiled and mumbled in a low voice. “That Drezara is completely nuts, but she is very funny.”
He returned to his reading, only to be interrupted a moment later by another loud bump on the ground, followed by a scream. He rushed to Drezara, who was holding her right arm. “You broke it again? Here, I will take care of…”
“Yeah, give me an extra bone again, will you? I need to teach them not to mess with me!”
Paullu concentrated and fixed the broken bone. He then smiled at Drezara, and she almost melted. “No, I remember what you did last time. I had a lot of trouble healing everyone that you struck with that bone. We may need to find another thing for you to do instead of playing that weird game. You keep getting hurt!”
Drezara approached her face from his and made a slight smile. “If that’s your way of saying that you would rather be on the back of the Gym kissing me, you need to work on that proposal.”
Paullu frowned, not knowing if she was serious or not. “Is that another joke? Because I can’t really tell…”
Drezara poked his nose and smiled. “What do you think? Or, better yet, how do you feel? Do you feel that I am joking or that I am serious?”
Paullu pointed up and made a slight smile. “Your opponents are watching. You are going to be hit again.”
“I don’t mind if that means you will rush to me again, like my personal hero.”
Paullu smiled, and Drezara took off again, leaving him behind and looking at her.
