Chapter 20

BRIELLE Did I really have to doubt this man? Instead of answering, Josiah smirked at me and ran in haste out of the place. He was as if telling me to come with him and he would show me something I should see. Right after the moment Josiah left the place, I followed him. And when I got out of the portal, I saw him standing about ten meters away from the hole and me. I took my sword and pointed it out to him as he also handed his weapon. I took a deep breath and readied myself in attacking him before he could attack me first. Josiah met me and responded to my attacks. While fighting with me with his sword, he was smirking at me. He couldn't lose his posture and it could be seen clearly that he was good at this— especially because he had this tough weapon. The sword that Josiah had was silver in color— fascinating and looking so elegant. It was longer than mine and its point was sharp. Whenever it would swish in my sword, it would create a different level of sound— in high pitch, that it could ruin someone's teeth. Also when it would hit the sun, it would shine brighter than the stars. Josiah's strikes were also powerful. Every movement he would do, he'd make sure they were done accordingly. He was too calm when he fought as if he wasn't receiving any hardship from my attacks. The glimmer playing in every corner of his eyes could not even fade away. I planned to jump in the air but there was no way to escape from Josiah's continuous swissing of sword against mine. Every second, I would take a breath in order to keep on responding. It was a bit tiring fighting with him, but it was also exciting because it was damn challenging! While the fight went on, I also didn't take my sight away from Josiah's red eyes. Since from the first moment I saw him, I doubted them; however, there was something inside me that was pulling me out of that sense. Should I really doubt him or should I know him more in able for me to know what side to be in? "Nice moves," Josiah uttered with a grin, while still exhibiting his attacks. However, I didn't respond. I just made my moves faster and tried finding a way out of these monotonous fighting attacks. I hit Josiah the best shot I could give. Fortunately, I made his sword turn away from me a bit, causing me to had the chance to take a step backward from him. I stood for about ten meters away from Josiah and took deep breaths while giving him a scathing look. "Very nice. How did you get out from my hands?" Josiah asked, taking his sword back to the scabbard. "Am I good?" I smirked. "She did raise you well." I puckered my brows. I wondered why this man knew every piece of information about me. I did not know him in the first place, but he knew my name and he even knew about her. And if that was the case, I, therefore, conclude that Josiah must not be a stranger here; he must be an acquaintance. "I know you've been thinking why I know you and Namika," Josiah said with a smile. "Have you didn't guess who is the real me behind this face?" I swallowed my saliva, yet I remained strong in front of him despite the confusion inside me. "I know who you are." "Then, come to me." I took a breath once again before moving forward. I slowly walked towards Josiah, but when I was a meter near to him already, I immediately took my sword and jumped over him. When I got to his back, I hit his left side with my sword. However, the moment I saw his wounds got healed, I moved away in haste from him. "You can't kill me," Josiah said as he turned around at me. "You can't even give me a single s***h. They will heal in just a second." I kept creasing my brow at Josiah. I didn't know if I should be annoyed or be amazed by his strength. But honestly speaking, I found him like a god— not just in the way he moved but also in the way he spoke. I held my sword tightly and said, "I don't mind killing you. If you are not part of this matter, then I don't care about you. You started this fight, in the first place." However, I totally knew Josiah had something to do with my mission. I believed he would not just appear with no reason; the Samaraplane would not also bring me to this place without any valid explanation. "And I want to finish it," Josiah smirked as he made again an attack. He tried hitting me with his sword, but fortunately, I was able to catch myself on guard. While he continued slashing the sword to hit me, I was looking for the right time to respond with my weapon. Gladly, about seconds of finding, I was finally able to make as well my attacks. No matter how much I'd wanted to use a magic technique, I could not because it seemed to be a combat battle. The swishing of swords lasted for how many minutes without any of us being won nor defeated. However, after some time, I wasn't able to move my hands again when my upper arm just got hit by Josiah. I touched it but did not let my sword fall from my hands. Josiah put his sword back to the scabbard and said, "I am amazed at how you fight. I don't doubt you are the leader of this mission. Do not worry because that blood I put in your arm is strength from me. The sword I used has my blood and therefore, you also had mine for the weapon touched your skin." I creased my brow and looked confusingly at him when suddenly, his whole body shined in white; when it faded, his entire look got changed. My jaw dropped as I had encountered the unexpected transformation, and just got even more surprised when he said,
