The three girls ran up to their rooms and locked the door behind them. They were used to having their parents hosts long formal parties that would never end, but this party was the longest and it seemed like it was very far from ending an the girls were not enjoying it one bit.
That’s it! They had abandoned their parents downstairs to deal with the guests, they were tired of smiling and acting all polite to everyone and even to the ones that they didn’t like at all.
Their dresses were too tight, preventing the girls from breathing and the heels that they wore hurt them and rubbed at their ankles in the worst way possible. On top of it all Scarlet was not too happy about something and she wasn’t too keen on saying anything at all. Viola walked over to the balcony on what used to be the quietest place in almost the entire mansion but now that peace was disturbed by loud music and maybe a fire work or two that was shot throughout several intervals. As she looked down from the balcony she could see all the fancy cars coming onto their property, she could also see their guests with their fancy new cloths masquerading as heartfelt donors donating to charity like they cared about the little children anyways.
She really couldn’t get it how people could be so selfish that’s they failed to see the needs of others, all the guest were hear at their parents annual charity event to donate money towards a charitable cause and this year the cause was to children who were born with Noonan syndrome. They weren’t even here for the children, they were here to show off their wealth and newly designed cloths from the most known designers in the whole of New York City and Viola couldn’t stand it anymore. She walked away from the balcony and she walked back into the room where she looked at her sisters, slowly and painfully removing their dressing and high heels because clearly they were in pain.
“So are any of you enjoying the party?” they both groaned at her clearly out of frustration. They continued with removing their cloths and that when Viola spotted that’s something was wrong with Scarlet.
She approached her youngest sister and rubbed her hair that was neatly platted into corn rolls.
“I don’t know what is wrong with you but I’m not liking it” scarlet slowly looked into Viola’s eyes and Scarlet’s yes looked so soft and sad.
“He did it again” Scarlet told her sister. Viola didn’t have to ask her sister what she meant because Viola knew right away what Scarlet meant. She knew that it was none other than Duke Hector of some other land that Viola never really cared about. One would think she’d remember because that’s all that Hector ever spoke about, his family’s wealth and his looks which wasn’t what Viola would call looks anyways.
Viola was angry, for the millionth time Hector has been harassing them and claiming that he was going to pick on one them as his bride and Viola wasn’t having any of it, especially since he targeted her youngest sister. Viola angrily unlocked the door and even pushed Amber out of the way because she tried to stop her. She scanned the crown and finally spotted hector at the bar, his favorite place in the world. She angrily walked up to him without allowing anyone to see how furious she was and what her action were going to result too.
Viola walked up to Hector and politely smiled at him which in return, he spilled his drink.
“Oh look what we have here, my soon to be bride” Hector said with his words sounding more like rambles rather than actual words. One could easily say that he was drunk.
“I need to talk to you, Hector” Viola politely asked him and he rolled his eyes at her in the most disrespectful manner possible. But Viola wasn’t going to have any of it. She pulled Hector up from the chair from his collar and walked outside into the garden where they were both alone.
“Is this some kind of foreplay, because if it is, I must say I kind of like it” Viola couldn’t understand for the life of her how someone like this was allowed to occupy space on earth.
“I’m not here for any kind of foreplay or anything like that, in fact I’m here to warn you stay away from my sister and I or I’ll—“
“Otherwise you’ll do what Viola, tell your daddy? You don’t get it Viola you’re a heiress and your job is to get married to men like me and have a few heiress and be the trophy wife, that’s it” Viola couldn’t shake the thought that there was some truths to what Hector was saying, her sisters and herself were breed for this kind of duty, just like her mother was and their mothers before her.
Before she could leave Hector she had one more treat for him, Viola grabbed a wine glass room a waiter that was passing by and poured it over Hector’s head, it wasn’t going to solve her problems but at least it was going to embarrass Hector a bit and that was quite fine with her.
As she walked up the steps to the room Viola grew angrier and angrier with herself and the lives that her family was living and she had a plan. As soon as she unlocked the door and locked it behind herself, her sisters walked up to her to inspect her.
“Girls I’m sick of all these men that threat us like were nothing more than toys to be played around with” Viola spoke to her sister and not once did she conceal the anger inside her voice.
“What do you suggest we Viola?” that’s was Amber speaking, honestly speaking she went along with anything that Viola said, always.
Viola gathered her sisters around herself and she told them a Pact, each sister repeated her own promise to the Pact, which consisted of never getting married and never letting men win their hearts no matter the cause.
All of them agreed on the Pact and that was how it would stay, neither of them would give their hearts to any man and whoever were to disobey this rule will have to face the consequences of their action.
Next day
The whole family say down at the dinner table that was neatly filled with every breakfast dish that a person could want but none of the girls were hungry, each of them too tired to even think about eating in the first place. The party was over during the late hours of the morning yet their parents looked like they hadn’t been at the party the whole night, they looked fresh and relaxed.
“How either of you do it, I have yet to figure it out” Scarlet spoke to her parents and both of them giggled in return and kept on eating their foods. The entire meal went in silence and no one uttered a word about last night and the girls were getting furious.
Until Amber decided to speak up for the rest of them “Father have you spoken to Hectors parents yet?”
Her father raised an eyebrow, indicating that he didn’t remember what he had to talk to Hectors father about.
“Hector has been harassing us for a very long time and it seems like no one is doing anything about it and if he continues—“
“Be careful young lady, you’re not a menace to be making threats like that” her father warned her “I’ll speak to his father, poor Henson, dealing with a son like that’s who causes him nothing but heartache every single day”
Dinner was over and just like that each of them went back to their normal routine.
**
6 years later
Viola was furious with her driver for almost an hour she was standing in front of the hotel building with her umbrella in the pouring rain, waiting for her driver to fetch her. And before she could call him one more time he arrived and got out of the car to help her in.
“Good evening Ms Viola” he greeted her with a smile on his face which quickly disappeared when he realized that she was not having any of it.
“I’m sorry ma’am it was the traffic” she simply just rolled her eyes and got into her car and within minutes they were driving to the club and minuets after that they were caught in traffic again which made Viola more furious. She was invited to the hottest new club by a new promoter and she couldn’t believe that she was about to be late.
And it’s not like she was a no body, everyone knew who she is, she is Viola Albertson whose father own one of the biggest oiling companies in the whole of America. Her phone rang and she immediately knew who it was, her friend April called her just to ask her where she was and that the party was about to begin. As soon as she hung the phone Viola’s anger was directed towards the poor driver who knew nothing about all this.
“Don’t you know of any short cuts around this area, to get me to this club quicker?”
“Unfortunately, I can’t ma’am, it’s raining and the roads are slippery” Viola simply rolled her eyes and focused on the road instead.
Within almost an hour after the party had started, she arrived at the party, her driver came out to unlock the door for her, she was greeted by non-other than paparazzi that wanted to get a picture of her. Inside the cloud the party was on fire, everybody was either on the dance floor or at the bar getting wasted and that was Viola’s favorite scene to see.
She was walked by a couple of bouncers to her friends who were no place else other than the VIP section of the club, drinking the most expensive wines that money could buy them. Viola didn’t need the promoter in actual fact the promoter needed her, her family name was all that was needed in order to draw the crowd.
From the corner of the VIP section Viola spotted what she liked, a finely built man standing with group of his friends and when he turned their eyes met and they stared at each other for what seemed like eternity.
After speaking with his friends he made his way from across the club to her side of the VIP section. Viola could clearly see his eyes now. His eyes were soft blue like the waters on the beach of some dream destination and his soft pink lips… oh she could kiss it and her need for it will never be fulfilled. And his wavy hair is just what Viola liked in a man. She vowed not to let a man have her heart but there was nothing that prevented her from using them to quench her thirst, she was a woman with needs after all.
The man raised his hand to greet her “Hi my name is— my name is John, John Callaghan” he said smiling right back at Viola.
Viola stretched her hand to greet him and as soon as their hands meet she felt a heat course through her body like hot lava, spewing from a mountain.
“Wow I’ve never met a man that forgot his name before” she teased him
“Well I’ve never met a woman this beautiful before” Just those words have Viola blushing just a bit from embarrassment.
“My name is Viola, Viola Albertson”, John kindly took her hand and brought it but to his lips to kiss and just like that a shiver ran down her spine.
“You’re beautiful and you have a nice name” John responded but something wasn’t right. She was an Albertson and from the looks of thinks John didn’t know who she was or who her family was.
“I was hoping you’d say that you’ve heard that name from someone” she tested him a bit.
“No I haven’t, should I have known? ‘John quickly asked her.
“No! It’s just that a lot of men use that catch phrase a lot and it’s getting a bit boring if I must say. He didn’t know who she was and she liked it just like that, no strings attached.
“Come with me Viola and I’ll get you a drink” John stretched out his hands to her and in return she extended her hand to him and they walked away to the bar together. “What would you like to drink?” he politely asked her, looking deep into her eyes and seeing the passion within them.
“I’d like whatever you are having” Viola said it just like that in a smooth and sexy voice which had John turned on a bit. John quickly turned away from Viola to order rounds of vodka and just like a quick bullet he was back facing into her eyes again. The shots had arrived and the both of them drank each and every one of them and they continued ordering more rounds of shots.
The room began to feel dizzy and the listening to the loud sound of music that didn’t make sense got a bit boring. John leaned in on Viola who was also a bit tipsy at the moment. “Do you want to go to my place?”
“Sure, I’ll call my driver” Viola yelled out, trying to make her voice heard over the loud music.
“It’s okay my dear, I’ve actually got a truck outside” Viola was shocked she didn’t think of him as a truck kind of guy but looking at him now she could see it a bit. She nodded her head in agreement and they both walked out of the club, escaping the paparazzi.
Before they got to his place John drove them to a pharmacy where he quickly ran down to get a box of condoms.
Are we really going to need that much? Viola thought to herself in silence, which she should stop doing cause her head hurt quite a bit. They got to his apartment which she could see was probably rented, no pictures on the wall nothing to make it feel like someone lived here on a permanent basis.
“Welcome to my apartment Viola!” and just like that John was gone. She took off her jacket and sat down on to the couch in silence and she heard the shower running… well at least she knew that they were both on the same page with all this, they were both adults after all, tipsy and drunk adults.
Before she could do anything further john was back. He reached out for her hand and in return she did the same, he walked into a bedroom and she turned to look into her eyes.
“I know that we both are a bit tipsy but I just need to know if you’re ready for this, I don’t want to rush you into anything that you’re not comfortable with”
Viola placed both her hands on the side of his face and smiled at him “I’m not a kid, I know what I want and I want you John, John Callaghan”.
A smile appeared on John’s face and new exactly what they were going to do tonight and he was ready to give her the best night of her life, a night that she would never forget.
