After she took her things from their home at San Luis, Red asked the driver to dropped her in the hospital. The driver seemed reluctant but she did her best to make him agree, cause she needed to see her grandmother.

The driver was silent along the way, that she doubted if he understands english or only Italian words.

Red also needs to talk to her Dad. She knew her father will never agree to the working arrangement that Axel wants. But she already signed the contract, so she needs to convince him to agree.

"Hi Dad!

The hospital was not crowded when she came. After asking the receptionist on which floor her Nana is confined she saw him sitting at the hospital lobby, alone. Pain and worry is mirrored through his face.

"Reda, sweetie, I'm glad you're here."

His eyes that looked dark and sleepy showed a hint of spark when he saw his daughter. He gently patted on the seat next to him. Reda walked near the couch and sat beside her Dad. She felt a little pain in her chest with the expression that he has on.

"How's grandma Dad?".

Ricky sighed before he opened his mouth to gaze at his daughter.

"She's in the operating room, your Nana needs to undergo for surgery. She needs to have her ovary removed due to.. to cancer".

The painful surprise made her throat dry. Cancer.

"Oh my God, my poor grandma..How..is grandpa holding up with the news?

Her eyes get clouded and misty, it breaks her heart to think that her grandma is suffering and the information will deeply sadden her grandpa too.

"He is out to pray in the chapel, he's worried with you're grandma's surgery".

"I'm so sorry Dad, i could have tried to come earlier".

She put her arms around her Dad and nestled her chin over his shoulders. The tears that she's been holding fell down on her cheeks. She could feel his pain and worries.

"Don't cry Red, we have hope after the surgery. The doctors here are good and they have the means to cure her. We have to pray and hope for the success of her surgery."

"I can't help it Dad..grandma was just so full of life. I never knew she's sick, i even let her do all the household chores. I could have helped her..more often".

She sobbed while thinking back during those days when she was still younger and her grandma took care of her food all the time. From the moment she wakes up and the time she leaves for school, her Nana is always there to help her. 

"Hussh Red, it's alright".

Her Dad softly caressed her back, trying to comfort her. After a while, she wiped the tears off her eyes then she gets away from him. She took tissues from a small table nearby and wiped hear eyes and cheeks.

"By the way Red,how did the interview go?

Out of the blue her Dad asked her the appointment she had earlier. It was just a slip of his tongue without seriously thinking about that matter because his mind is on the other problem at hand, the huge bill at the hospital have been bothering him too. Now they are a little low on cash.

"Oh, it went well Dad. I got the job for a month, and I am going to start working tomorrow."

"That's good news Reda,"

"But Dad, my employer requested me to stay in the house he's staying during the period of my job. I will have a separate bedroom and my contract for a month is already signed.”

Her father stood still for a while and thought about what she just said. He turned towards her and frowned. He thought about what she just told him.

"Why do you have to stay in the same house with your employer? Isn't that employer a foreigner like you said before?."

"Yes Dad, they are Italians. I needed also to translate tagalog and English contracts for him. Don't worry Dad, the man is really old and there were other people living in that house."

Red was lying a little bit. If she did not work, she will be sued because she had signed the contract already. If her father knows the complete details, he would surely disagree and she cannot let that happen.

"Why did you sign the contract Red, you did not even call me to asked about my decision for you. We don't know these foreigners, what happens if something occurs during the duration of your work?".

"Dad, my one month work with him is insured. And the p*****t is very generous. I can't say no after signing the contract Dad and besides they are staying at the VIP cottages of Villa Teresita white beach resort".

Her Dad sighed from the new information she said. The employer she's talking about is living in the territory of his boss. He can just ask his friend and long time employer, Alexander to check out on him about the records of this foreigner.

"I will talk to Boss Alexander about this then, your uncle must know that you are working for a foreigner staying in his land."

"Dad, please no need for that. I am not a minor anymore, I'm eighteen and i signed the contract already".

Ricky's frown went deep in his forehead. They rarely argue about anything, but he couldn't believe that right now his daughter is being stubborn. She could have a good reason as to why she immediately accepted the contract and signed it without consulting him. He let out a deep breath.

"I will only agree that you work for this foreigner as a stay in tour guide if I will be assured that this person is safe. I only have to make one call on Boss Alexander and we will know. Let me assure your safety first sweetie".

He tried to gave emphasis on her safety and Red knows she couldn't argue no more.

"You can go to work tomorrow Reda, but for now go back home and rest".

She looked at him confused, she wanted to follow her Dad but she also needed to go back on her employer now. A decision was quickly formed in her mind.

"I'm going now Dad, let me just say something to grandpa in the chapel."

She stand up from the bench without looking at her father in the eye. She was afraid he could see through her the things that she have decided to do.

"Take care on the road Reda, you take a cab now. I'm sorry we cannot drive you home. Your grandpa and I needs to stay for your Nana until the surgery is finished."

"I-i can stay if you want to Dad. I want to know if grandma will be alright too".

"No my dear, you have a job to look forward to in the morning. You needed that extra money sweetie, so you have to do well. You will know it when your Nana is safe, I will let you know immediately."

"Ok Dad, I'm going now". 

"Take care sweetie".

She nod her head slowly and turned her back to get out of the hospital. She walked fast into the car parking where the driver of her employer had been waiting for her return.

She stayed longer than necessary so he must be tired of waiting for her. She had secretly hope that the driver just leaved her so that she can no longer go back to her employer's place tonight. But the black audi was still there, in the same spot where the driver had dropped her.

The door opened in a timely manner as soon as the driver saw her coming. He went out of the driver's seat to open the passenger's side for her. 

It made her looked like she had her own chauffeur waiting.

"Hi! Sorry if i have kept you waiting".

She told him in an apologetic tone. The man's expression stayed blank, he just ran his eyes around her.

It made her thought if the driver understands her English or not. He looked young and might be older than her for only a few years. And he does not looked mute but he is not talking to her.

She closed her mouth and and went in quietly. Red didn't say a word anymore in the whole ride back to the VIP cottages of the resort.
