Chapter 32

“I don't know dad said that there was a curse and it is related to Amelia but before he could complete his sentence he stopped and when I asked him he refused to tell me and said that I shouldn't know about it and when I asked my mother she said that when the right time comes I will know about it. But I have a hunch that the curse is related to Amelia or why would dad always try to protect Amy. I know she's not a wolf-like us and is a normal human being but there is something amiss which we don't know.” Beatrice explained to him.

“Are you sure you got the right thing?” Lucas asked her looking very confused.

“If you don't believe me I can close my eyes and you can hear all the conversation that I had with my dad.” Beatrice said flatly.

“It's alright I believe you and thank you for the information that you have given me because your dad was very close to my dad and he knows our family much better than anyone else. But why wasn't I informed about all these things and whom should I ask now?” Lucas tried to reason out with himself.

“I think you can go in ask my dad about it because he is the one who can tell you everything and my mom had confirmed that your dad had made a promise to them that no one should know about it, that's what my mom said.”

Sweat was trickling down Lucas’s face and his body shivered as he never thought that Amelia would be in danger because of lady Louise and now Beatrice was talking about some curse. He was So confused that he did not notice Beatrice had moved beside him and she hugged him tightly and spoke very softly .

“It's alright you don’t have to worry too much, I will find out about it from somewhere but you need to be in touch with me if I lose you how will I be able to tell you about it.” Beatrice smiled and told him.

Looking at her naughty smile Lucas roll his eyes and his wolf chuckled.

“This girl sure knows how to play coy around you and you always try to ignore her, you're so stupid Lucas” Eric remarked unhappily

But Lucas couldn't lose his control right now as he had so many things going on his head and he had to make sure that Beatrice was safe and protected and he knew she was when she was around with her family and if she follows him she might lose her life and he as her mate would never want that to happen because he had to protect her.

All of a sudden his mouth was captured again by Beatrice and she started kissing him but this time Lucas did not avoid her and instead he kissed her back passionately probing his tongue into her mouth and his hands gripping her waist tightly. He tried to smell her fragrance that evolved all around his body for a few minutes then he let go of her and said.

“Beatrice go home and take care of yourself and your family and when the time is right I will come for you but don't seek me before that. I want you to be safe.” After that he turned around and left without letting her say another word.

Beatrice was still touching her lips which were kissed ruthlessly by Lucas and realized what had happened, Lucas has responded back to her kisses and she had a strange feeling in her stomach which was so beautiful and her wolf Noemi was growling with happiness but she controlled her emotions and ran faster than usual towards her home.

The next day  she looked from the window of a small commercial airplane as they flew through the northward direction to the mountain kingdom.  She had not told him anything about the encounter with the wolves as she wasn’t confident in letting him know what had happened back there. And thankfully he  was not around when she had finally returned to the house with Ashley the hostess so she did not have to explain it to him. And just before they were supposed to leave did he come out of the study with his friend’s and smiled at her as if he was missing her.

Beside her, Archie said. “Admit it that you were surprised by the people you met at launch.” 

“A little yes,” she admitted reluctantly. “Because mountain kingdom  is so far from here and it looks so small on the map. I suppose I had expected a very singular group, although I had heard that Danish  people are extremely friendly.” 

“Well they are well traveled too,” he drawled. “ And accustomed to overseas  visitors as  we get a lot of them and  the tourism here is blooming every day. You see now it’s becoming a holiday destination of all the age group.”

 She flashed him a smile. “ Alright I will admit that every international  guest at the launch surprised me. A part from the lovely people,  the whole occasion was like something out of dream.  The lake, the villa  and the lovely glimpse of the beautiful wood around it  made the house look so  beautiful and the wonderful gardens and some of  the fashionable clothes that people were wearing looked so extravagant.” 

“I would have thought you were accustomed to occasions like that.” Archie observed his tone ambiguous. 

“Well I  was,” Amelia stopped herself from finishing  because, although she had thoroughly enjoyed the occasion   it had been  made special by Archie she ended lamely. “ I had a very nice time because they were so friendly and warm and it was just exquisite, I liked your friends very much and the organic product they produce is  an inspiration.” 

Archie smiled and  said. “ I asked them if you would feature there organic products in your travel blogs.” 

“Archie, thank you so much.” She said more than a little surprise and touched too because they were his friends she dared not go anywhere near the subject. 

  “That was very kind of you.”  Amelia said sincerely.

He said. “ They are happy for you to do that but not immediately as Blair and Ashley have to travel  next week so they're taking the children for a trip to Disneyland. When they come back they will get in touch and we will go down and visit them.” 

“Alright thank you Archie.” Amelia said softly.

“You speak English like a pro.” Archie commented.

She shrugged. “ Lucas and I shared an English  home tutor  and our housekeeper was from Ireland until I went away to school. “ 

He Seemed to overly  be interested in what she had to stay and he asked. “Haven’t you ever planned to go out of Halland and settle down somewhere else?” 

“We can't go, since  the government had taken over most of the property that belonged to us . And we can still  claim it but if we leave, it will be automatically taken away from us and I don't know why I have this feeling that if we move out of Halland we will be banned from coming going back to that place.”

“But don't you ever feel like taking another identity and going away from all these silly titles.”  Archie remarked.

“I don't have the courage  nor do I feel the need so badly that I will do something like that as I love my country and the place where my parents belong. I can't just simply leave it and go away.” Amelia explained.

“Does your brother feel the same about it?” 

Archie watched the expression from her face not a muscle moved but he felt her resistance as palpably as though she had shouted at him. 

“I think so, we both like our country and we don't want to go anywhere.” she said and moved her face away so that he couldn't see her face.
