Chapter 34

When they were done putting the luggage in the trunk Archie turned and asked Ashley to hand over the keys and Ashley looked at him with confusion but recovered from her musings and handed over the keys to him and slipped into the back seat. Archie held open the front door and Amelia got in, wondering about Ashley. She was wondering what kind of relationship they have as they seem to have very different bonding and it looked that there was more to their relationship. To her shock, Amelia realized she was being too nosy and was smoldering with a fit of completely unrealistic jealousy. The kisses they had exchanged did not give her any claim on Alex why was she thinking too much. As Archie started the car into motion Ashley leaned forward and asked, “ So how was the wedding? You haven't told me about it yet.” “It is was very good,” Alex said briefly. Ashley laughed and laugh held a note of amused resignation that should have soothed Amelia's feelings but it worsened. “What you don't have anything more to say about it? For God’s sake, it was a special day for your sister's and I don't suppose I will get enough information from you. Amelia, can you please tell me everything about the wedding.” “I would be very glad to,” Amelia said and wondered why hadn't she attended the wedding because it seems she was very close to Archie but decided not to ask and  added, “I don't think I have ever seen such a wedding, it was so beautiful and the meeting of two souls who loved each other made it look more blissful. Kristine looked radiant and Harry was looking handsome as well.” “Well, our Kristine has the habit of making everything look very beautiful wherever she goes,” Ashley said smiling happily. "Harry is lucky to have found her." Amelia smiled it seems an odd thing to say in front of Kristin’s brother, “She looked very  beautiful and enchanting and of course she was very happy they made a perfect couple.” She told her again not wanting her to have illusions about the wedding. Surely that would put an end to any notion about whether or not her heart was broken. Almost certainly her heart was not broken and  because she was absolutely and uncharacteristically oversensitive, she knew nobody here could be interested in gossip from half the world away. Her eyes drifted in Archie's lean hands on the wheel as he drove Bentley into the road. A strange kind of excitement rushed inside her body clouding her brain and fueling a nerve-wracking increase in her heart rate. But she put her eyes elsewhere and focused her eyes to look outside of the window but how could a glimpse of his hand do that? It was almost inappropriate.  She kept her eyes fixed on the road outside sliding past them, green trees and bushes backed by a range of pine trees as it spread along the way as they passed the beautiful lagoons.  “Are the lagoons open for the public?” Amelia asked all of a sudden as she remembered that she had come to Denmark to study the tourism market. From the back seat Ashley said. “Amelia are you interested in sightseeing around the kingdom?” “Yes of course I am here to visit your country and see all the wonderful places that you have,” Amelia confirmed her doubts. “Princess Amelia is planning to open her new travel company so she is trying to gain  knowledge and information about tourism in our country.” Archie said and sent a sideways glance at Amelia. “Amelia lagoons are open for the tourist only twice a week because I don't want people coming and disturbing the balance of the city.” “Oh that's very nice of you.” Amelia said and wondered, that is why the countryside was as beautiful as there was less interaction from the outside world. Ashley said. “Amelia you are going to love our country and the best part is you will love staying with Archie he lives in a beautiful Villa built in between the small hills.” “I am looking forward to seeing it.” Amelia responded. The roads became wider and wider winding down the hill through beautiful pine trees. The trees looked very old and magnificent and she wondered how old it was? She wanted to ask Archie about it but she chose to keep her mouth shut as Ashley was sitting behind them and she didn't know how she would react. And finally they  drove through the groove of different trees and up to the Villa set up in a great sweep of lawns. Amelia give a small breath of exclamation as she saw there was a private lagoon in the backyard. Archie’s home was magnificent. He stopped the vehicle in the parking lot and while Amelia was still gazing at the long and beautiful villa , Ashley came around and opened the front passenger door for her. Feeling awkward Amelia said. “Thank you,” and stepped out. Archie collected the bags and looking at Ashley he said. “Thank you Ashley, I will see you later.” Ashley smiled remain firmly in the place but a certain stiffness about the set of her shoulders made Amelia wonder again about their relationship. “No problems,” another woman said cheerfully. She bestowed that determined smile at Amelia. “Princess Amelia I'm sure you will enjoy your stay here very much.” Once she was out of the site Archie said. “Welcome to my home Amelia.” “Archie this is such an amazing place she told him. “I don't think I've ever seen anything like this.” Archie’s house was very old and had beautiful heritage architect outside. “Thank you, Amelia.” He said and explained.” This was built by my Grandfather who traveled a lot and had an idea about different kinds of architect designs, so he was the one who instructed the designer who was building the villa to make it the way it is right now.” Archie was about to pick her back when Amelia said.” I can carry mine and she reached for it the hands collided and she choked back. Archie straightened with both bags in his hands and his eyes were gleaming and he said. "My touch isn't so cold. And I'm sorry I am strictly out of servants this time as they come in the morning and clean up and leave after they are done because I don't want anyone nosing around the house I like my privacy.” “I know that your your hands not cold.” she said but for once unable to think straight she added.” neither is mine.” Their glances clashed for a moment and reckless excitement welled up inside her in a warm and heavy flood. Archie said deliberately. “Ashley is the daughter of my dad's right-hand man. He died saving my dad so she had been living in the Villa’s compound since she was very young and we have grown up together and in other ways, she is just a sister to me like Kristine.” He was telling her that Ashley meant nothing to him and Amelia’s face reddened but she felt warm. "My, my Archie aren't you trying desperately to woo Amelia, great going buddy. I am so happy that finally, we will be able to know Amelia better. I have been so hooked up with her and I don't know why I get so wild looking at her innocent face as she is a human but What I feel for her is raw and I am going to make sure, I know her better and conquer her slowly and don't you dare try to stop me as I need her and ache for her." Casper said happily and Archie rolled his eyes as his wolf behaved rather irrationally in front of Amelia and now that she was in their territory he was sure Casper would misbehave and embarrass him. Little did they know that someone was watching them at a distance and snarling and her face looked dangerous when she looked at Amelia. After staring at them for some time she left.
