Chapter FourOrina had her breakfast early in her cabin. She then dressed herself in the same clothes that she wore when she was riding on her father’s Ranch. Strangely enough it was called ‘a Mexican habit’ and she had always expected to see them in frequent use when she went to visit Mexico. The divided skirt was bright green, fringed down either side and round the hem. It fitted snugly into her waist and, when she put on her boots, made her look dashing. There was a jacket as well, but it was far too hot to need it. She therefore wore a silk blouse, which was the same colour and which sensibly had long sleeves. She knew that, if the sun was very hot, it would be a mistake for any part of the body to be exposed and it could become red and blistered unless one was particularly carefu
