Migina walked into her apartment and dumped the luggage on the floor. Though she didn't need the electric illumination to see, she preferred it. A quick flick of the switch and the room brightened; instant sunlight.
Safe sunlight.
Her eyes snapped past the leather couch and chairs to the low coffee table. On top of the magazines was a folded piece of paper with her name scribbled on it.
She peeled off her coat, then took one of the chairs. Feet propped on the coffee table, she leaned back and summoned the note to her hand her peculiar "vampire ability". Ghost hand, they called it, though horror movies called it something else. Telekinesis, was it?
