Chapter Six - Unexpected Plans

Rebecca’s P.O.V

Today had been a good day, I had got a lot done after my sleep, got my College work done. I switched my phone off to concentrate but decided to switch it back on in case Jake was trying to get a hold of me cause he would be due home but he knows if I am in the zone I will have my phone off. The first text came through was from Jake

Jake: Hey on my way home. Got myself a date tonight ;) I will fill you in when I get home

Rebecca: A date? About time, it has been a while lol. See you soon.

I wondered who it was, maybe that girl in one of his classes he has a crush on, and sure he will fill me in when he gets home. Another couple of texts came through, those were from Tyler.

Tyler: Hey you enjoy your sleep beautiful? X

Tyler: You decide you don’t wanna talk to me anymore? L lol X

I giggled at the sad face at the end, deciding I should probably text him back. I don’t want him thinking I was ignoring him.

Becca: Hey sorry switched my phone off, always do when I am in the zone for studying X

Tyler: Well at least you aren’t ignoring me lol. What are you doing now? X

Becca: Just relaxing now after studying…Jake will be home soon. You? X

Tyler: Yes I was talking to him a little while ago, he said he has a date tonight. Not doing much to be honest…bored X

Becca: Yes he text me to let me know he had a date. I am sure you can find something to occupy yourself lol X

Tyler: I could always come and keep you company later? X

I don’t know if I can handle being alone with him again today. On the other hand I don’t want him being offended if I say no…what do I do? I never got a chance to text back straight away because Jake came in, coming over and throwing himself next to me on the sofa.

“How has your day been?” He asked

“Not bad, slept and then got some work done…you? Tell me about this date you are going on.” I said putting my legs over his knee

“It is with Peyton, finally asked her out and she said yes so we are going for dinners and drinks.” He said smiling

“About time, you have been crushing on her for weeks.” I laughed

“I know, thought it was about time I asked her out.” He laughed

“You think?” I giggled

“Right I better go get showered and ready for my date, need to leave in an hour.” He said removing my legs from over his, getting to his feet and heading to grab a shower.

I grabbed my phone, texting Tyler back. I may as well tell him to come over for a few hours, give us both some company even though I know he has plenty of options for company.

Becca: Sorry Jake came in, was telling me about his date. You can come by if you like, I don’t have any plans either but only if you bring pizza with you lol X

I am a girl who doesn’t ask for much and easily pleased.

Tyler: OK. Text me once Jake is away. And pizza I can, what kind? X

Becca: I will do. Oh BBQ chicken please, I will give you the money when you get here X

Tyler: Pizza is on me, see you soon X

Becca: See you soon X

Why do I need to wait until Jake goes away? Does he not want Jake knowing he is coming over? I don’t see why, Jake probably wouldn’t mind anyway as long as he promised to behave himself. I wouldn’t bring it up, let Jake concentrate on his date with Peyton. I would tell him tomorrow if he asks what I got up, until then I will not bring it up.

“Rebecca come and help me pick clothes please, I don’t know what to wear.” He called through in a whine.

I laughed, rolling my eyes and headed through to his room to find him standing in his boxers, raiding through his clothes.

“Do I wear jeans and a shirt? Jeans and a tee? Trousers and a shirt?” He said frustrated

“Would you calm down? You have been on plenty of dates, stop freaking out.” I laughed

“I know sorry. It has took me weeks to ask her out, I am nervous. Now what do I wear?” he said

“Jeans and a shirt with your black boots and denim jacket.” I smiled

He took my advice, getting his clothes on. Then spent ten minutes in front of the mirror doing his hair, it never helped I messed it a few times, just to annoy him then decided to leave him to get ready, can’t have him late to his first date with Peyton now can I?

“Let me know if you will be coming home or if I need to lock the door.” I said

“What do you take me for? It is our first date, I am not gonna sleep with her.” he laughed

“Who said anything about sleeping with her? You may get carried away and stay out all night.” I laughed

“I will text you either way.” He said leaning down to kiss the top of my head “Love you Becks.” He added

“Have fun and try not be a nervous wreck around her.” I laughed “I love you too JJ.” I added

He gave me a quick hug before he headed out. I waited a little while before texting Tyler.

Becca: Hey, Jake is away just head over whenever X

Tyler: Ok be there in half an hour and I will remember the pizza don’t worry lol X

Becca: You better, if you don’t I won’t let you in lol X

Tyler: Noted for future reference X

I decided to get changed out of my sweats, put some actual clothes on. I got tidied up a little heading through to my bedroom, pulling some jeans and a tee on before heading back through. I was nervous about being alone with him once again especially after the texts from this morning that confused the heck out of me. I paced for a moment before I decided I should get a grip of myself. I had to get that quick because there was a knock at my door. I took a deep breath going over to let him in.

“I bring Pizza and Wine.” He laughed holding it up

“Thanks, come in…” I laughed stepping aside “So how many more times can I expect you to show up?” I added

“You will need to wait and see…you love my unexpected visits.” He said winking at me

“Yeah, yeah if you say so.” I laughed

I was curious how the rest of this night is going to go, should be interesting if nothing else.
