CHAPTER 1

Bree’s part

I am now officially a personal assistant for the general manager in this company. I moved here just a week ago. I was working in the main office before, but they moved me to this office due to the misunderstanding. Actually all business is handled from this satellite office. I do not know why they call this office ‘satellite office’, in fact the area is three times larger than the one in downtown, also most of the core board members are staying here. Well, the concept of both offices is quite different. The city office is modern, elegant, and formal, while this branch office is more into a nature theme, where we can see many flowers, gardens, and water in many parts of these areas.

Clark, our general manager, is a handsome, mature, muscular man. He is around 32 years old. He has one more assistant actually, Olivia. She is very beautiful, smart, and has killer eyes. Clark needs me to help him to be attentive on his schedule, administration, and office work-related, while Olivia is like his secretary who will be tailing him everywhere he moves.

“Bree, could you prepare some documents and reports? Our CEO will be back from his trip. He wants to have a meeting tomorrow morning. Olivia, please help her!”

Olivia nodded. She quickly shows me some folders to find the files we need for the meeting.

It is strange that I can smell people’ scents. When Olivia got close to me I could smell Clark’s smell on her. In fact Clark has a wife who is one of the shareholders in this company. As usual, I keep all of these thoughts to my own.

I love to observe people. I mostly remember people’s smells, faces, and features.

It was summer 2019, two years ago, the first time I met Clark and Claire; his wife. I could feel the strong aura of her, and it seemed Clark had no power upon her. Claire is a very sensitive and intuitive person.

“Wolf!” Claire suddenly shouted.

“What are you talking about?” Clark raised his voice

“I smell wolf here!”

“Claire! Please do not talk nonsense in front of them like this”

It seemed Claire suddenly panicked, but Clark tried to calm her. There were only Claire, Clark, Thomas; my manager, and me in that room.

I thought it was the weirdest statement from Claire at that time, but my thought was changed in winter 2019.

I saw my mom was so weak on her bed. Aunty Amelia and Uncle Tom called me and told me about her condition. I rushed home after I got the call. I never imagined that it was the last day I saw mom. I held her hands as her breath was slowly gone.

“Emma!!!” Aunty Amelia screamed in tears when she saw mom gone.

I burst into tears, shaking her body and wishing she was still alive.

I know I did not know much about my own mother. Mom had trauma that she could not recover and bear. She had lived that way since before I was born. She was silent most of the time, but I could still feel her love and warmth every time she looked into my eyes and hugged me tightly. I still remember, my friends mocked me about my mom's condition. Well, no one knew how my mom’s condition was, until Mia shared everything with my friends. Mia lives with her thirst for victory. She laughed when my friends scolded me by calling me the daughter of a crazy woman. I never told Aunty Amelia and Uncle Tom about Mia’s characters towards me.

Aunty Amelia called me to come to her room. I knocked on her door and she let me in. I walked slowly, suddenly I felt scared and worried at the same time. Aunty Amelia sat down on her bed. She seemed nervous and her face looked so pale.

“Bree, Bridget Lumiere”

“Yes Aunty” I hold her hand

“I am afraid this will be too late to let you know everything. I just do not know how to start. There are so many things I want to tell you, but I could not decide which one I should start with”

“Start with the one on your head now, Aunty” I am always able to read her worry. I could feel the spark and something was coming to my head and asking permission to link to my head, every time I was with Aunty Amelia and Mom, but my mind always rejected before I could read and see clearly.

“You are a wolf!” her lips were trembling

“Aunty, are you okay?” I was so confused by what she said.

“I am not ready to tell you everything now, Bree. I just cannot throw this responsibility to you”

I hugged her and wiped her tears. I could see how pure her love was to me and my mom from her eyes.

From that day I know I am a wolf living among humans in this town. From that day I also knew that Aunty Amelia and Mia are wolves too, but Uncle Tom is not; he is human.

I worked on the reports and documents with the help of Olivia. I really adore how smart she is. She is also cold, but patient at the same time.

The sun is nearly gone, and I see twilight over the window. I stretch my body a bit. Clark and Olivia left earlier to check the room for our meeting tomorrow.

I sent the presentation to Olivia’s email and cc Clark. I grab my bag and get ready to leave. Suddenly, someone knocks on the door. This muscular guy comes in.

“Emmm, sorry I forget your name, new assistant. I need some reports that Olivia collected. I need them on our CEO’s table. It seems there was something he needs to check”

“Bree. I am Bree, Kevin. CEO? He is back from his trip?”

“He is unpredictable. He flies here and there like cockroach” Kevin laughed. How dare he say that our CEO is like a cockroach. I could not handle my laughter.

I take the documents and give them to Kevin. “Here are the files. We already prepared the printed contracts that he needs”

“Bree, can you help?” Kevin grins

“Yes sure”

“How lovely you are. I am going to have a date. Could you please help me to bring it to the CEO's table?”

I was silent and shocked at the same time. I am nervous. I met the CEO for the first time in most embarrassing way two years ago.

“Oh okay. I will help”

“Thanks dear. You are always nice as usual”

Kevin quickly leaves our room. I grab my stuff and the documents. I can't believe I am heading to his office room. William, our CEO, is 31 years old. He is so charismatic, cold, smart, handsome, his body is muscular, and his voice is so damn sexy.

I rang the bell and started to ask someone inside the room to allow me to get in. Our CEO does not have any secretary nor female personal assistant. People start to think that his s****l interest is into men, because he is 31 and he is not yet married. I heard some rumor that her fiancé died when he was 16. Such a joke, how could a 16 years old boy got engaged.

“Please” a husky and heavy voice responded behind this door.

I open the door and slowly walk toward him.

“I am sorry you must be scared to ring the bell. My assistants were already sent home, so no one was in front of my room” He keeps writing something while talking.

We are in silence for about 5 minutes until he looks up “Just place the documents over there. I'll check them.”

“Ah okay” I responded and placed the files above his table.

Suddenly I hear a growling voice get closer to me in seconds. He held my arms tightly and pushed me toward the wall. I could barely hear the breaking voice on the wall. I felt my back bones hurt. I feel the pains all over my body.

“Rrrrrrrghhh… why are you here!!!” he looked at me angrily

“I… i… just bring the documents”

“I asked them to fire and get you away from me two years ago. Why are you still here?!!!!” He raised his voice.

I suddenly remember, two years ago. A day after the winter party, my manager called me and he informed me that I was fired. I was crying so hard, because I just lost my mom a week before. I should pay my mom’s debt for her health treatments. I needed money. He let me stay in one condition that I should not make any notice from the board core members in the company. I should act as stupid and dumb girl after that.

It happened because at night at the winter party, I was a little bit drunk and I kissed a stranger and talked rubbish. That stranger is William, the CEO who is standing in front of me.

“I am sorry” my lips are trembling

“Uff stop!!!” He screamed, it seems he is fighting by his inner self.

He slowly took his hands from my arms. He inhaled. I felt much better when he stepped back.

“I need to go”

“NO!!!!!” He screamed angrily and held my body.

He grasped my face and I saw his eyes were full of loneliness. He got close to me and held my arms again, stronger than before.

“You are not my mate!!!” He kissed me passionately. I tried to get him away, but he was too strong. I tried to reject, but the more I rejected the more intense he kissed my lips. I could not do anything but cried.

He stopped and stepped back. I saw how angry, sad, and powerless with his own actions.

“Please send your resignation letter as soon as possible” Finally he speaks again, with a more stable voice.

“Ok Sir” I was scared and weirdly happy at the same time. It was my first time being kissed by a man. I have been longing for this for 6 years. 6 years from my 17th birthday. I know we kissed before on the silly moment at the winter party 2019, but it was me who approached him and it was just a second kiss.

“Wait”

I stopped.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Sure” I am still little bit scared

“Do you know anything about Alpha and Luna?”

“Mmm who? I do not know them”

“Okay! Now go away from my sight! And never ever you dare enough to meet me again!”

I nodded, getting more scared. What was happening to us. What was that? How could he act that way?

Suddenly a linked voice comes to my head “how dare you try to seduce me! Who are you? You do not know who I am, you are challenging me!”

I nodded my head and turned back to see him. He was staring at me like he wanted to kill me.

I am sure it is his voice. I can hear his voice! He is sending that message to me!.

I got in the lift and started thinking about how I heard his voice. I heard similar things to Mom and Aunty Amelia.

“Is he a wolf!?” My mouth is wide of shocked.

Aunty Amelia never allows me to tell anyone about my wolf. I should keep everything secret until I die. She says that I will be living safely in the human land. Living as human and let no one notice.

I could not think clearly. I was really worried about my mate. I found two female wolves under their robes. One was wearing the golden robe and the small girl was wearing the wool robe. My parents sent them two golden robes; for my mate and her mom. I put my mom in law on my lap. I saw she still had breath, very slowly. She opened her eyes.

“Find her! Please find mine” She was gone shortly after she said that.

I put my mom in law on the ground, and directly ordered my wolves to bring her to the pack. We would have a proper funeral for her.

She saw me and walked toward me. My heart beat really fast. I could not control it. I felt her heat. I could clearly feel how crazy this inner spirit was.

Crazy!!! I shouted inside my mind, but could not say anything. It was strange but at the same time I enjoyed her warmth.

“Awwww my man, finally you are here” she was drunk.

I tried to be calm. All eyes were on me. I acted stupidly to save her name and dignity.

“Okay baby, let’s go out from here” I slowly put her down. My face was red of embarrassment

“Yeah… let’s run away my man” this strange girl again talked nonsense.

“Okay, let me bring you” I picked her and let people enjoy the party.

I linked to Kevin to clear the situation and awkwardness. He was laughing in his mind. Later, he made jokes on me about it for these two years.

That moment made my parents arrange an urgent meeting. They were curious about what had happened. They kept insisting to me how I knew that crazy human. I told them to be calm and do not prolong the embarrassing rumour.

I fired her right away the next day.
