Isabella lay there in the bed with him behind her his arm draped over her like a brace.

She hears him breathing evenly so she knows he's asleep. She looks at the time seeing it's ten pm she decides to try and wiggle out of his hold ...

His arm tightens around her.

"Where are you going? "

"I was just gonna go to the bathroom then go clean from dinner sorry if I woke you,"

He pulls her close kissing the back of her shoulder. She gasps hoping he lets her get up. He lifts his arm off her. "

"Don't be long I'll be waiting for you ... "

She slides out of the bed grabs her clothes from the floor quickly walks to the bathroom. She throws her clothes in the hamper and grabs the sweatpants and T-shirt from the counter.

Before she put them on she take a look in the mirror as she looked at herself a small tear rolled down her cheek.

All she sees is a tired person with no shine to her eyes and black bags under her eyes. New marks from where he was too rough along with old ones that are still healing.

She has scars on her body she wishes would just disappear she wipes her tears and put her clothes on heads out of the bathroom.

She walks through the bedroom he's asleep again she knows she has to hurry to get things cleaned up or he will be up and looking for her

If things aren't proper when he wakes he will not be happy. She going to do anything and everything to stay on his good side this week she wants to see Mandy and duke just to have a few hours to let her guard down.

She can't wait till Saturday... It's Wednesday so only two more days to go. Oh, how she wishes she could change things but she knows no matter what he will always find her.

Mandy

It is Thursday I'm waiting for Isabella to call me to let me know if she coming Saturday.

I have my fingers crossed .. this will give me time to explain my plan and get her to understand she needs to get out of there it's been going on for too long.

Yes, it is a big risk but she can't stay there anymore. My phone rings pulling me out of my thoughts oh thank God it's isabella.

"Hey you, How did it go?"

Mandy asks impatiently.

"Good, He's letting me come on Saturday he said he has to work at the farm so he will drop me off that morning and then pick me up when he's done."

"Oh, that's great!" Mandy squeals into the phone. Isabella just laughed a little at her friend.

"Hey Isabella, I need to talk to you when you come up okay I don't want to talk about it over the phone but in person.."

"Okay, is everything okay you and Dave not having trouble are you?"

"Oh No!! we are fine just something else I want to talk about."

"Oh Okay, Sure we can talk Saturday then you know I'm always here for you to talk to Mandy"

"Yeah I know," Mandy replies,

"Well listen I better get off this and finish my chores for the day I'll see you on Saturday morning. bye... "

Mandy smiles small knowing Saturday she can hopefully start the plan to save her friend.

Isabella

Finally, Saturday is here Mandy's place is only forty minutes from the house. We are heading there now Chris has to be at the farm by nine for more cleaning.

We pull into Mandy's drive it's eight in the morning.

I know she's awake she has already been out and fed everyone I see her sitting on the porch with coffee waiting for me. I smile to myself I do miss my friend we use to spend every day together now it's months before we see one another.

Chris stops the car in front of the house he grabs my chin making me turn to face him he leans in close to me he whispers in my ear.

"Don't do anything I won't approve of, You know the consequences of it."

With a shaky voice, I say

"yes sir, I will follow the rules I will be ready when you come to get me. Thank you for allowing me the day sir."

He smiles kisses me then says to get out. I obey opening the door and stepping out of the truck.

Once he pulls off I turn towards my friend running to her I fall into a hug and just let myself cry on her shoulder. She holds me rubs my back waits for me to stop crying.

After a few minutes, I stand up straight wipe my face thanking her for having me out.

She smiles handing me a cup of coffee "Come on in have some breakfast then we can head out to the barn and go for a ride. But first, let's talk a bit ..."

Mandy and I are in her kitchen cooking some breakfast. We making eggs with waffles and bacon. Soon we hear the back door in walks Dave.

" Man does it smell good in here,"

he says walking into the kitchen...

He comes over giving me a huge hug "Hey stranger good to see you,"

I wince a little cause I'm still sore from last night he looks at me with an apologetic face. I just smile telling him it's okay.

"Nice to see you too dave,"

Mandy comes over with a plate setting it on the table,

"Here have some breakfast."

We get our food sitting down this is what I miss with them the calm and quiet.

We ate our breakfast with a little talk mostly about their farm with all they are doing.

I'm happy Mandy can do all of this she has been working hard for it Dave is so supportive of her that he is a big help around the farm.

We finish cleaning up from breakfast they both tell me to come out on the porch they want to talk with me. I follow them out we sit down it's nice out so I take my hoodie off.

I try to make sure I'm wearing clothes that cover any marks so no one sees them. I hate how people stare at them. I hear Mandy take a sharp breath I look over. She looking at my arm that's has a bruised on it from where he grabbed me last night

I take my other hand to cover it. She looks at me then looks at Dave who is looking at me as well.

I know where this talk is going.

"Isabella you have to get out,"

Mandy, says to me. I just hang my head we've been over this a thousand times.

"I'm so afraid that he will find me," I tell her.

"No, he won't I have a plan ..."

"You remember my friend from college we study Equine science together ?"

"Yeah, Clara was her name right?"

"Yes she has a farm in Maine, She said you can come there and work for her she has a small apartment above the barn, You can stay there, No one will know your there she will pay you cash so you won't have to go to a bank for an account or any paper trail to trace to you"

Before I could say anything, She starts again,

" We will help you get there you can even take duke with you its a pretty isolated place it is far back in the woods you don't know it's there unless you have been there..."

I shake my head not sure of what to say I don't want to pull people into my problems. But the offer does sound good "I'm just too afraid to leave," I tell her

"I don't even know how I would get there I have no way to transport duke, I don't have a truck any more I haven't driven in over a year Chris always drives me places not that I go a lot but still how would we get to Maine."

Mandy looked at me.

"Dave and I have it planned out if you want to leave we will help you Chris will never know anything he won't find you.."

I think to myself can I do it, do I even have the strength to I sigh to myself looking down at my hands seeing the marks on my arms closing my eyes, and taking a deep breath.

I look back up at Mandy.

"Okay let's do it as long as I have you two helping I can do it.."

Mandy smiles she jumps up hugging me.

"I knew you were ready to come let's make our plans,"

With that, they told me the plan they had come up with I just needed to get through one more week we would put the plan in motion...
