We finished all the cookies and I hoped this little task would be a good way to kill time till Grim comes back with Kate. I was resting laid against the kitchen counter and watched my son walk up and down in the dining room. Dean kept glancing out of the window from time to time like a chased game. I understood his displeasure, they were taking too long for a simple issue. When I was about to call Grim, Dean jumped to the window and rushed out without saying a word. I followed him only to see my son raging. His hand clenched into fists and black mist surrounded him. Grim tried to calm him down while Kate just stood there crying and in fear.

- Dean you are scaring her! - I shouted and he stopped. The mist disappeared and instead, the scythe appeared in Dean's hand. Grim rolled his eyes and moved his hand in the air in front of our son's eyes. Dean fall on the ground unconscious. Kate immediately ran to him and kneeled to his side. She looked at Grim desperately.

- Kate, don't worry, he is just asleep. - she sighed and caressed his face. Kate's skin around her eye was getting darker and her lips had been cut.

- What happened? - I turned to Grim, he sighed.

- Let's talk inside. - he said and I nodded. Grim picked Dean up and inside he laid our son on the sofa. Kate sat to his head and rested it on her lap.

- Kate got into a fight today. - Grim said. I waited for the details but my beloved Death wasn't really a man of many words.

- Kate? - I asked and she didn't dare to look into my eyes. I sighed and walked to her. I kneeled in front of Kate and held her hand that was patting Dean's head.

- Why did you fight? - I asked and she cried.

- I'm so sorry... It won't happen ever again... - I rolled my eyes and squeezed her hand.

- I didn't ask for an apology, I want an explanation. - Kate sobbed and looked at Dean.

- The sooner you explain everything, the sooner he'll wake up. - Kate took a deep breath and forced a smile on her face.

- It's nothing. Just a quarrel with an old acquaintance. Really, I'm sorry for causing problems. - I shook my head but decided to retreat for now.

- Go to your room and rest a bit.- Grim said.

- What about Dean?

- We will wake him up soon. I don't understand why you are keeping something so serious a secret in front of us, but I'm sure you won't be able to do the same with Dean. So go and think about what you want to tell him about your injuries. - Kate nodded and without looking at us, she ran up.

- Did she at least threw a fist? - I asked as Grim sat in his armchair.

- She broke the other girl's nose. - I smiled proudly.

- Good girl! - Dean slowly opened his eyes and immediately sat up, like someone who woke up from a nightmare.

- Where is Kate? - he asked frantically.

- In her room, but wait a second because we need to talk. - I said pulling my son back on the sofa.

- I must talk with her! What happened? Who did this? - Dean asked and his voice deepened with each question. His eyes turned red like blood and his hands trembled.

- Son, Kate is abused in school and we had a feeling about it before.

- Why did you let her go alone then?!

- Because she needs to learn to stand up for herself. Which she did amazingly today. Unfortunately, the school and the director are pretty biased towards other kids. Don't worry I won't let this slide. - Grim said and he put his fingertips together with a wicked smile. Only at times like this I have been reminded of whose wife I really am.

- I want to do something! - Dean said and I pushed him back again on the sofa. He kept jumping up.

- First calm the f**k down. Then talk with her and calm her. Tomorrow is a new day, and I have a plan I told you. - Dean sighed and when he felt calmer he headed up to Kate's room.

- We have a plan? - Grim asked once Dean was out of hear distance. I nodded and got up, walked to my husband and sat on his lap. Grim wrapped his arms around me and kissed me.

- Would you tell me? - I smiled and gave him another kiss.

- Of course.

Dean

I was heading towards Kate's room when I felt a familiar presence coming from my room. I quickly went in and shut the door closed.

- Baby death! Long time no see buddy!

- We are not buddies Veny, f**k off! I have no time to waste on you! - Vengeance smirked sitting on top of my desk. He looked like a teenager, maybe a bit older guy. Brown hair with blonde stripes and green eyes of the color of envy. He was tall and popular, also really annoying.

- Come on Dean! We are sort of family! - I rolled my eyes.

- We have nothing in common! I was born and you somehow just woke up!

- Technically, everything was created by Mother Nature, Father Time, Life and Death, therefore, we are family! Believe it or not I came to help you! Why don't you put your doubts away and listen to what I have to say?

- Because wherever you appear someone gets hurt and I don't want that! - the door of my room opened and Kate stood there. She looked like a porcelain doll, big teary eyes, rosy cheeks, white skin and fragile. Veny immediately jumped off of my desk and rushed to Kate. He grabbed her hand and gave a peck on top of it.

- Veny at your service my lady! - I pushed him away and he landed on his butt. I stood between Veny and Kate. My blood boiled and my jaw clenched. I almost spit out the words.

- Leave her alone. - Veny stood up and grinned.

- Where's the fun in that? Fine I'll see you later Katherine! It was my pleasure to meet you! - Veny disappeared and I finally relaxed.

- Who... Who was that? - Kate asked and I sighed.

- He is Revenge or Vengeance, Veny for short. He thinks we are some sort of cousins but I have nothing to do with him. Please, stay far from him if he appears again. He acts like he wants to help you, but in reality he just poisons your soul and encourages you to do horrible things, that destroy your humanity. I've learned my lesson already, learn from my mistakes please.

- But, you are very kind and caring Dean. I can't believe that you did anything horrible. - My heart clenched.

- We all did bad things Kate, that's how our personality forms and that's the only way that can teach us distinguish right from wrong. Now, tell me what happened today?
