Kate
I stood in front of the mirror in my room. Looking at my reflection. Carefully made makeup, perfectly curled hair, stylish and comfy autumn clothes. High brown boots, black leggings, a red, brown, beige and black quare patterned short skirt, cream colored pullover and wine red long scarf. My first day back in school. I thought and my hands trembled. I shivered as a soft knocking on my door brought me back to reality. The weather was sunny and the colorful leaves painted a really picturesque scenery outside. Perfect weather to hang out on a pumpkin field or to have some marshmallows. For some reason, I knew these memories were mine even if I couldn't recall them truly.
- Come in! - I said trying to fix my skirt one more time. The door opened and Dean leaned against the doorframe. Since I told him what he looks like doing this move, it became a habit of his. But to be honest, I really don't mind it. Dean looked really hot standing in the door, with his hands in the pockets of his black ripped jeans. A smuggish smirk spread on his face and his eyes almost sparkled while he said.
- Hi, nice to meet you! - I chuckled and he walked in. He held my hands that were still fixing my outfit unconsciously.
- Are you nervous? - he asked and I scoffed.
- Pft.. Me? Nervous? Come on! I'm cool as a cucumber. - I tried to act cool but stumbled in my own feet and almost fall right on my nose. Dean caught me and laughed.
- Yeah I see! Pickle Kate! - I groaned and stood up straight.
- Don't call me that! I already regret I watched that show with you! - He kept smirking which was hot and annoying at the same time.
- It's not worthy deny it, you loved Rick&Morty! - I rolled my eyes and pulled my tongue at him.
- Fine! But don't call me Pickle Kate! - he shrugged and caressed my face making me blush.
- You won. - he said and gave me a tender kiss. We heard a soft knocking on the door and Grim stood in it. He had a similar position to what his son did and it was somehow amazing to see an older version of Dean.
- Are you ready Kate? - Grim asked in a calm voice and I chuckled.
- Not at all! - Grim smiled kindly.
- Well, s**t business, because we have to go if you don't want to arrive late. - I pouted but Grim shook his head.
- This is not working with me young lady. Don't you forget who I am. - I sighed and Dean laughed. I picked my backpack up and shoot a glance at the laughing Dean.
- It worth a try!
- That could never hurt! - he said and accompanied me to the car. Dean opened the door for me and gave me a quick peck.
- Have a nice day Kate! - he said and I smiled.
- You too! - With a knot in my throat and uneasy feeling in my stomach, the car rolled onto the driveway and soon on the road. Grim parked the car in front of the high-school and we just stayed in silent for a while. I kept staring at the familiar faces gathering at the door and the gangs in their usual spots.
- You are going to be fine. - Grim said out of the blue. Our eyes met and he patted my shoulder.
- You are strong Kate and different from the Kate they know. Don't let anyone dim your light. We are here for you, you are not alone. - tears stung my eyes and I gave a brief hug to Grim before opening the car door.
- Here I go! - I said and he honked before he drove away. I waved to Grim and took a deep breath. I walked towards the door but immediately noticed the weird stares at me. Their glances were although different. They looked curious and not pitiful. I pulled myself straighter and smiled kindly as I learned from Donna. I giggled a bit at the memories of last night. Life jumped in to wish me good luck and she technically dove into my wardrobe and pouted that we didn't take her with us. I let her choose my outfit and when I tried it on last night, Life said.
- Baby death should quickly engage you... Because if they see you like this... He might have some competition! - Donna punched her in the shoulder and I just blushed.
- No one can compete with Dean. - Life giggled and kicked with her tiny feet in the air.
- You are in love! Oh so nice! - I flustered even at the memory itself and Life's words echoed in my mind.
- Jolene told me you wanted to be like Donna, well you can't. You are you, unique and unrepeatable. But, I'll share her secret with you. Everyone gets enchanted because of Donna's soul and smile. Smile like you mean it Kate! That's your strongest weapon! As long as you have a smile on your face, nothing can really get to you.
I smiled widely and headed to my classroom, trying to focus on my goal and not care about all the gossips and stares I got. When I walked in I headed to the last desk as usual, but I stopped midway, and sat in the front row.
- What do we have here? Fresh meat? - I heard a familiar voice and disgust rushed through my veins. But I decided not to turn around. Unfortunately she had other plans. Bethany walked in front of me with her minions.
- Isn't this Kate? - Silvia asked popping her bubble gum while she played with her box dye black hair.
- She really looks similar to her! - Emmy said and leaned closer to me. Her blue eyes tried to stare into my soul but this time, I just smiled at her tiny stature I used to envy and her blonde hair seemed boring compared everyone I met lately. Nothing special, just Emmy trying really hard to be different.
- Hey, what's your name? - Bethany asked and she sat on my desk, lifting my glance up. Her grey eyes widened as our glance met.
-Unbelievable... Kate learned to dress finally! - she exclaimed and everyone's attention was on us. I started to feel smaller and smaller under the heavy glances and the whispers that got louder and louder. Luckily the teacher arrived and the interrogation ended or at least I thought.
- Kate, I heard you have a new family now. Congratulations! I see that you feel already better and they care about you. - I knew Mr. Sanders wanted to be kind with his words but he simply put oil to the fire.
- They are probably trying to dress her up so she won't bring their family's reputation down. - I heard Silvia laugh.
- Silvy! Don't be so mean! They take care of Kate because she needs it. - Bethany added and Mr. Sanders smiled at her.
-Very nice of you to stand up for those who need it. - I grunt my teeth while listening to Bethany's hero trip.
-Oh Mr. Sanders, I haven't done anything other's wouldn't do in my stead. f**k this s**t. I thought and stood up abruptly.
- Kate, do you have anything to say? - Mr Sanders asked annoyed. His two faced attitude always got on my nerves.
- Actually, I do, but I prefer not to waste my time at you. - I said and picked my stuff up. I walked to the door and Mr. Sanders shouted.
- KATE, HOW DARE YOU?! If you leave the classroom, you can't take my subject ever again! - he said and I turned around. I shrugged.
- Amazing I was bored last year anyway! Byeeee! - I said and walked out of the classroom. I shut the door behind me and gasped for air. I trembled in my whole body and had a feeling that I'm capable of everything!
