*ANDREW PAK POV*
Andrew hadn’t expected his plan to work better than he thought. As usual, he baited her with the topic she loved, and checked the weather forecast to be sure it would rain. What he didn’t expect was for her to be allergic to the cold, which made it all better. When he saw her wiping the water off her hair and skin, his heart had pounded against his chest. He knew it was lust and he recognized the feeling as one he normally had for other ladies. There was only one strategy he used to get rid of that feeling. It was to get them laid. But how exactly could he get her laid? He’d never thought of it.
After taking a cup of water from the kitchen, he asked Millie where Caroline was, since she wasn’t in the sitting room. The girl gave no response. He ignored her and went up the stairs to his room. The rain was beating hard against his window panes. There was a low chance the rain would get over soon. He was certain of that.
When he opened the door of his room, he walked in to the sight of Caroline walking out of the bathroom in the night gown. Her body froze when she saw him. I mean, she knew it was his room. She just hadn’t expected him to come in so fast.
“I am sorry, Millie directed me here.” She explained, grabbing hold of the towel which fell to the floor and her wet outfit. As she was about to walk out, brushing her wet hair to get it dry, he stopped her and locked his door behind him. She was totally stunned.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She asked, nervously.
“Please let me have you, so that I don’t think about this again,” he pleaded.
“What do you mean? I….” She hadn’t completed her sentence when he took the towel and outfit from her hands and threw them on the floor. He stared deeply into her gray-colored eyes and directed his lips at hers. She didn’t push him away. She rather stood frozen, unaware of what to do. Helping her out, he wrapped her hands around him and directed his lips to her neck. He heard her moans. That was encouraging. He slid down the thin arms of her lingerie and drew it down, revealing her beautiful naked skin.
“Do you truly love me as you say?” She asked, as he laid her down on his bed and rested over her.
“We shall see….” He responded before kissing her down her naked body and sucking her n****e on his lips. She moaned and wrapped her legs around him. She felt her body tremble and her skin quiver. That was definitely a good sign for him. The more she moaned, the more he got harder and the more he wanted her in his arms so badly. That night ended the way he planned and they were both panting, gripping each other and engulfed in deep pleasure. She had never felt that before, and this got obvious with the tears that rolled down her eyes when she reached her climax.
“It’s fine. I am here with you.” He assured her, gazing into her eyes.
Deep in his mind, he thought of how relieved he was about his mission fulfillment. He could have a peace of mind again and move on to another lady, without thinking too much of Caroline Halls.
If only it was that easy….
*CAROLINE POV*
Caroline moaned when he grabbed her n*****s with his smooth wet tongue. She shut her eyes tightly, feeling every sensation of his touch on her skin. Her mind could barely judge her, nor could she recall her adamancy not to give in to Andrew’s demands so soon. Their long stare weakened her and his soft handling of her tiny waist, caused her body to tremble.
“I love you.” She told him, when they laid beside each other, sweating despite the cold from the window. He told her no response. Instead, he’d responded with a kiss on her lips.
The next morning, he dropped her off at her place and advised her to take care. That sign of care was one she couldn’t overlook. Maybe he did care for her after all. Maybe they were all misunderstanding the good heart he had.
“You weren’t home the entire night. Where were you?” Mrs Halls asked, walking out of the store room with some expired products.
“I was with Andrew.” She responded with no remorse or shy feeling. Her mum arched her brows, as she inspected each jar.
“You do not have any problem settling down with him then…”
Caroline nodded with certainty. She loved him and was willing to marry him for her family's sake.
“I do not mind you and dad talking to him about his thoughts regarding next month.”
“Sure. We will visit his parents this weekend. Luckily, we have some old French wine I am sure his father will love. The wine is one of its kind. Good thing it was brewed specially by your grandfather during the good old days.”
“He still talks about the winery?” She asked, taking off her jacket.
“There is no day he doesn’t talk about it. He is so much in love with the brewery process.”
This conversation reminded Caroline of how much she missed her granddad. It had been forever since she last saw him and she always wondered why he never visited the city. The countryside was his abode and he was used to it.
Caroline’s eyes fell on her phone later that night, expecting a call from Andrew Pak but she got nothing. She waited the following few days but couldn’t get hold of him since his line was busy. This got her tremendously worried.
The sight of him looking hale and hearty in his Italian suit, made her relieved during the family reunion. He walked in from the office that day, looking confused about why he was called urgently. When their eyes met, she smiled and he rudely turned away.
“Maybe he is in a bad mood,” She thought.
The family gathered in the dining area and passed across the table a variety of cuisines. A slow song played at the background and the Pak’s loud voices could be heard,
“To this great reunion!” Mrs Pak cheered with an enthusiastic look. The rest clicked their cups and sipped their drinks. “It’s an amazing news to hear that the Halls are ready to accept Andrew as an in-law.”
The Halls nodded with smiles, except Laura, who had a suspicious look at Andrew. Andrew's eyes were raised from his meal at the hearing of his mum’s statement.
“This reunion was organized because of the approaching engagement the family have decided to work on regarding this marriage.” His mum continued.
“Mum….” Andrew whispered in surprise.
“I understand Andrew had been impatient for a very long time. I clearly remember the disappointed look on his face when I advised him to wait a month. Though the main wedding will be held in a month, we could start off with a grand engagement to make the announcement.”
“I love that idea. I am sure the children will be happy with this news.” Mr Halls concurred with her.
“Very happy. Most especially Andrew here.” Mrs Halls turned her face to Andrew.
Caroline noticed Andrew looking uncomfortable with what occurred at that moment. What was wrong? Was he sick? She couldn’t tell. After dinner, she walked away from the rest in her green mini gown and searched for him. She spotted him at the garage getting ready to leave.
“You’re leaving so soon?” She asked.
“Yes. I will see you later.” He responded bluntly, before shutting his door and driving off. Caroline was disoriented once again by what had occurred. Why was he blowing hot and cold? Does he not want her anymore? She grabbed hold of her granny’s pendant and caressed it for a while.
“Andrew won’t make you happy.” She heard Laura say behind her.
“He is only busy. I am sure he is fine.” She responded, making her way back in.
“He’s done with you, Caroline! Can’t you see it? He is fed up with you and has given up on you! He has gotten what he wants from you!”
“Stop it! He didn’t use me! I am certain he loves me!” Caroline raged out.
“Did he tell you that?”
“He doesn’t have to tell me anything. His actions say it all.”
“Someday, you will feel regret and I won’t be able to help you at that time.” Laura warned her and left. Caroline had no clue why her heart felt stubborn. She turned back to the gate and grabbed hold of the pendant one more time.
I am certain he loves me.
*ANDREW POV*
“Who do those people think they are?! Why the freak will I still want to marry that girl after all the pain I have been through? I have no interest in her dad’s business anymore!” Andrew nagged, taking one more shot of alcohol. His friend seated beside him and listened to his sob story.
“What will you do now?” Drey asked.
“I want to book a flight and flee. I have to schedule a flight by the end of this month. I can’t marry that girl. I can’t bear to see her face anymore.”
“Do you really hate her that much?” Drey was surprised. “I thought you said the other day, you needed s*x to get her off your mind.”
“Yes, I had thought! I stopped speaking with her and I blocked her number. Why would my parents suddenly want to unite us? That lady gives me a strange feeling,” Andrew confessed.
“What kind of feeling?”
“I don’t know…. trouble? sentiments? fear?”
“Seems like you messed with the wrong woman after all.”
“Leaving is my saving grace now. I am not sure when the engagement will be, but I will need to flee before the white wedding. I don’t wish to be tied to that woman.”
“And if, by chance, you tie the knot with her, her dad’s business is still an advantage.”
“I don’t think her dad’s business would be my problem then. My problem would be seeing her innocent face everyday and reminding me what a s**t I am.”
Andrew brought forward his glass for another drink.
“This lady is already messing with my head….”
