“Is there really no way for vampires and humans to live together?” That silly question that came out of my mouth made Becca stumble over herself.
“Ah… I’m not sure you’re going to like the answer to that…” Becca said with a saddened expression on her face then proceeded. “It’s not so much so as whether they can or can’t live with each other… it’s about them not wanting to. Humans are too afraid of vampires to face them as equals and vampires think they’re superior… It’s just… a bit…” She didn’t have the right words to explain it to me but I wasn’t listening at that point.
“Do you like ice cream?” I changed the topic and she looked bewildered.
