Night. Fireflies illuminated the two gardens. Bay watched the light show from the back patio, enjoying a cup of coffee. An evening breeze blew in and off the lake. He loved coffee: nothing fancy, always black, the hotter the better. The lakeside presentation looked phenomenal. Flickering brilliance moved from left to right over the grass and through the trees. The lightning bugs created swirls and ripples among the tomato plants in the vegetable garden. Their dance resembled something out of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream between Puck and Titania. A play unraveled before his very eyes, and Bay enjoyed act after act. The event was more entertaining than a movie on Netflix, Logo, or Hulu. His thoughts of the emotional and stunning production by the fireflies were soon snuffed out
