I woke up realizing that Dos and I fell asleep while we were chatting on the bed. My other eye was blurry remembering that I was still wearing contacts and the left lens fell while I was asleep. I slide out of the bed and went inside the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror worried that my eyes might turn red. I was glad it wasn't but I lost a lens. I removed the other lens and placed it on the sink. I wouldn't mind losing a pair since I have two more pairs in the house.
The problem was, I couldn't see anything one and a half meters away from me. Everything will be blurry. I slowly walked back to the bed where Dos was still sleeping.
I checked the time on my phone. It was already five in the afternoon. I laid back down and I gasped in surprise when Dos suddenly wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
Dos' face was so close to mine and he really looked handsome that I forgot to blink while staring. Dos smiled and looked at me.
"What do you want for dinner?" Dos asked. "Or you can also have me instead." He grinned and I wasn't expecting him to say something like that making my face heat up.
"I can eat anything." I said and Dos grinned.
"Anything?" He asked with meaning behind his eyes.
I could tell what he was thinking. Shameless!
"Anything but you." I said and Dos laughed loudly.
"Mate, how did you read my mind?"
I never felt so embarrassed for anyone before but I stared at Dos thinking about what he just called me.
"Mate." I said and Dos' playful grin on his face died and looked at me seriously. "Why are you calling me mate?"
In my dreams, Dos was also calling me mate and he would stare at me lovingly with sparkling eyes and a gentle smile. There's this wolf also. Every time I dream of Dos, there was always this huge wolf. I am afraid of ordinary dogs, how much more if a wolf much bigger than a human, but the wolf in my dream was different. I felt at ease and safe seeing it.
"Because you are my mate."
"Like a partner?"
Dos smiled and caressed my cheek making my face heated up and I couldn't look into his eyes but I saw a glimpse. He was looking at me tenderly, his naughty eyes were gone.
"Yes. Ever heard about wolves and their mates?"
"I do. I read about them. They're one of the animals who are monogamous."
"Mate for life." Dos said and my heart suddenly skipped a beat.
Was he saying that we, too, could be mate for life?
"It's not like you're a wolf." I said, trying to hide the blush on my face.
"What if I am? Will you be scared?" It was the second time that day that Dos asked me the same question which was making me feel that something was really fishy with those dog talks and him being one. Was he reading or watching too many fiction stories about werewolves?
I looked at Dos and then I remember the wolf in my dreams. They seem connected and I didn't feel scared of the wolf at all. I even seem to enjoy its silent company.
"I won't." I said without doubt and Dos looked at me intently before smiling widely showing his perfect white teeth like a kid grinning after having his favourite candy.
"That's a huge relief then." Dos said just when we heard a loud barking outside their dorm making me jump in horror and whimpered as I nudge closer to Dos' body.
"That stupid dumberman." Dos muttered.
"They have dogs here!?" I asked in surprise.
I didn't see one when we passed by the guardhouse.
"They do. They walk the dogs every weekend around this hour."
"Isn't a Dobermann huge?" I trembled thinking about that time when I first meet a Dobermann.
Harry and I went out for a jog early in the morning when we also crossed path with a jogger together with his police dog. The huge black dog bared its teeth and barked furiously at us like he met its mortal enemy. I could see how its saliva was spewing out of its mouth as it barked non-stop at us and the owner was holding the leash, trying to pull his dog back and calling its name to stop. I was freaking out that my knees gave out and my whole body was trembling thinking that the dog would snap the leash around its neck, run towards us and bite me.
I never went jogging with Harry after that for a month. We changed route when I mustered the courage to jog again with Harry and so far, that incident didn't happen again.
"A little. Are you scared?" Dos asked and I bit my bottom lip.
"I was just startled." I said and I felt so embarrassed.
Dos wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I didn't protest because it was warm and I felt safe.

Curtis and Dos don't have stocks in their fridge.
"Let have dinner outside?" Dos asked.
I honestly didn't feel like going out since we already had lunch outside. It's more comfortable eating in the house since there would be no other people eating at the next table. It would only be us so I was looking for something to cook in their dirty kitchen but surprisingly, I found nothing.
I played with my fingers as I stood in front of Dos and I was thinking if I should just agree with him or tell him that I didn't feel like eating outside. But I didn't want to disappoint him. I was scared that he would hate me if I refuse him so I just nodded my head at his invitation.
I looked at him when he suddenly held my hands that were tangled together.
"What's wrong? What are you thinking?" Dos asked.
"Nothing." I said and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"I know your mannerism when you're nervous or hesitating, Jean. We're already a couple. So, tell me what's bothering you."
I blinked fast and wet my lips with my tongue. I gasped when Dos suddenly pushed me until my ass hit the edge of the table and Dos trapping me with his body.
"Or I'll kiss you." Dos said and my face blushed so hard.
I was a little bit surprised because it was the first time that Dos was acting a little aggressive that I exhaled through my mouth and looked at him.
"I was thinking that... I don't feel like eating outside." I said and Dos sighed in relief.
He leaned his face to mine and took my lips, his tongue licking my lips and then biting it before pulling back.
"Damn, you made me so nervous also."
