Curtis was driving to the pack land right after class dismissal. I dozed off during the drive and woke up when we were already near the pack land, entering the deserted private road.
We were driving behind another car and I kind of recognized whose car it was.
"Is that uncle Cliff's?" I was referring to my father's best friend and he was so fond of me when I was still a pup and it has been a while when I last saw him.
"Yes." Curtis answered.
Uncle Cliff parked in front of the pack house and Curtis also parked beside his car. We both went out and seeing the one who came out from uncle Cliff's car wasn't him but it was his son, Duane.
Curtis' mood suddenly darkened seeing Duane and Duane only stared at Curtis like he was a pest that he couldn't get rid off.
"Hey, Duane. I thought you're uncle Cliff." I said.
"Dad let me borrow his car."
"Oh. Send my regards to uncle and aunt for me."
"Sure." Duane said and went ahead of us.
"Why does he have to park his car in front of the pack house when he isn't living here." Curtis said.
"Uncle always parks here."
Curtis hummped. "Don't tell me you like to have a mate like him? Not small and not cute at all, unlike my June."
I shook my head. "Of course, someone responsible like him is better than having a weak and useless mate."
"Hey! That Duane is an ogre and you're so mean. Anyone who's going to be your mate will be so unlucky."
I just laughed as we walked inside the pack house.

Morris, Curtis' father and the beta, was the one who welcomed us first.
"The birthday boys!" Morris loudly called and gathered the both of us in his arms happily.
I felt like we were back to our childhood days where he would hug us like this. Morris loves pups and he was fond with the two of us and even declared on his own accord that we were twins. Even our wolves are twins, which was true.
"Dad, don't be so loud. You'll wake up everyone here." Curtis groaned and Morris finally let go of us with a huge smile on his face.
"You look so grown up now. It really scares me how time flies so fast. Yesterday, you were still pups-"
"We were at school yesterday." Curtis muttered and I wanted to smack him.
"-and look at you now! I can't even hug you both together in my arms!" Morris continued as if he didn't hear Curtis. "So handsome and mature but not you Curtis. You still have to take a few beatings before you can be as mature as Nicholas."
I silently cringed at the mention of my name and chuckled. Curtis only rolled his eyes to Morris making him laugh saying Curtis really inherits his mother's sarcasm.
Curtis and my birthday were always celebrated together as long as I can remember and this year will be no different. We always celebrate it at the last hour of Curtis' birthday and the first hour of mine and Curtis was always the one to organize it or his elder brother, Glen.
It would be held at the pack house's backyard and pool area, setting a bar and turning everything into a club. The younger generations would stay up all night while the elders would leave just before the party could start.
The moon was almost in perfect round and two days after, it will be a full moon. The music was blaring making the elders shook their heads. I got to meet my friends in the pack land except for Duane. He was nowhere to be seen for the rest of the night. While Curtis hanged out with his friends also saying he hates the girls in the pack land because they weren't cute at all, unlike those humans who looked so delicate and weak.
I really couldn't understand why Curtis likes those kinds of creature especially those humans. They were too delicate and easy to break, they couldn't even handle a few rounds with me and I would be the one left unsatisfied.
I let Remus took over my body and consciousness for the rest of the night and he partied so hard, he almost broke everything.

Harry and I stretched our limbs in front of the house. It was our weekend routine to jog early in the morning.
"Let's go?" I said as I stood straight and looked at Harry who was still warming up his feet. Harry nodded.
I only jog and run if I feel like it. I turned to Harry who was on my side, jogging with my slow pace. I know Harry could jog or run faster than my speed. He used to join track and field, long jump and even soccer when we were in middle school and the first two years of high school but Harry suddenly stopped saying he wanted to focus more with his studies.
"You can run faster than that." I said and Harry turned to me.
"I know."
I laughed. "You can run ahead of me."
"Nuh, I like this pace more."
I just nodded.
The sun was already up when we got back to our houses and I rest for a while before I jumped into the shower and dressed comfortably. I don't have plans for the weekend so I wasted the whole Saturday laying down and Netflix. I stopped watching when my eyes were hurting and the clock reads three in the afternoon. I fall asleep and was woken up when I heard some knocks on the door and my mother calling me for dinner.
I fell asleep immediately after dinner but I was again woken up by a howl and my heartbeat went fast. The curtain of the windows was thin that the light of the moon that night was illuminating my room. I hastily pulled the blanket up to my head and went back to sleep thinking of various scary things in my head.
I really hate my imagination because it scares me more than those scary movies.
