I just came from school and I was still outside the house when I could already hear mom and dad's loud voices fighting inside the house. They keep on fighting over small things and I grew tired of them, so every time they fight, rather than witnessing those dramas, I would walk away from the house and stay in a nearby park for an hour.
Until I meet those delinquents who also stay in the park late at night. At first, they beat me up for staying in their territory then eventually, I made friends with them because I kind of beat half of them. I am quite good with street fighting because that's what I always do before we moved to this new neighbourhood due to father's work.
I got beaten again with their boss and then we became best buds afterwards. It made me forget my problems when I am with them, beating people those thugs whom they said that they had a grudge with. Be high with them. My parents would never care if I go home or not so I will sometimes be away from home for two to three days.
My father would beat me when I came home then everything repeats until I turned twenty. My life was a mess and I had to adjust to it. It was around this year when father was destined to another state and he would always bring me and mom with him, of course. I refused to go saying I would become independent but father beat me up and dragged me to a new state.
It was still my first day when I had already become friends with the punks in the area. All the punks I knew always have the same family problem as me. We all grew up in a messed up family.
Mom enrolled me at the nearest university in the area but she didn't know that I wasn't attending classes since day one. It has been a week since then and I always went out with those punks who also cut their classes and some even stopped attending them.
I sat on the swing and puffed a cigarette. I only stayed there until I finished two cigarettes before I went back to the house. I was walking back when an unknown number called me.
"Hello, Cain. This is Taylor from the auto repair shop. You can claim your car already."
"Okay. Thanks. Did that punk pay already?" I said. Relieved that the car was already fixed.
"He's actually here waiting for you and he says he wouldn't pay me if you won't show yourself."
I frowned thinking about that weird man.
"Tell him to f**k off." I ended the call the stuffed my phone back in my pocket then grabbed a gum at the same pocket and chewed on it as I rode a bus to where that repair shop was.
I frowned thinking about that man. He was kind of weird. Usually, people are afraid of me because I gave off a delinquent aura but that man was the opposite and it was annoying how he wanted to stick around. I was even glad that I didn't receive any messages from him after he had my number. Or was I only overthinking it?
I guess he was only that kind of person.
I sighed as I went out of the bus and walked around the area until I saw the repair shop. Dad's car was already outside the shop and the rear window was good as new. That annoying man was also leaning his hips on the hood while he was on his phone.
I cleared my throat announcing my arrival as I checked the new window. They installed it perfectly.
"Hey, Taylor, Raksha, the kid's here." Harry called at the shop.
Taylor came out with someone tall and huge under that black and white suit and he has his arm around Taylor's shoulder. He looked intimidating like someone from a mafia. They looked close.
"Hey, Cain. How's the new window?" Taylor asked and abandoned Raksha as he walked towards me but I could feel Raksha's stares on me.
"It's cool." I said.
"Great! And for the p*****t, Harry already settled it so you don't have to worry."
"Okay, thanks." I said and Taylor nodded.
I looked at Harry who was still standing and looking at me. He was weird, yes, but there was something in him that annoys me just seeing him standing and doing nothing.
"Hey, thanks." I said and Harry smiled.
"Nuh, it's my fault in the first place."
I frowned. It was clearly my fault for not slowing down but he doesn't have to throw a rock on the window but I was glad enough that he was the one who paid for the repair.
Harry handed me the key.
"Can you give me a ride?" Harry smiled and I silently groaned as I grabbed the key from him.
"Didn't you bring your car?" I asked, unlocking the car.
"I wouldn't be hitching a ride if I did." Harry said.
I sneered and went inside the car then Harry turned around and welcomed himself in the passenger's seat.
"Thanks."
"Where to?" I asked and I realized that I sounded like a cab driver asking for my passenger where he would be going.
"Just drive where you're going. I'll tell you to stop." Harry said.
I cleared my throat feeling like someone was staring at me while I was driving.
"Are you studying? You look younger than me." Harry suddenly asked.
"Why the fvck do you want to know?"
It wasn't like we would see each other again after this.
"I just want to know."
"I hate stubborn people like you." I honestly said and Harry chuckled making me frown in annoyance.
"You don't have to like me if you don't want to, but it would be great if you do."
"Its not like we would meet again after this."
I glanced at Harry and he was staring at the road ahead as if thinking deeply.
"Yeah?"

I sighed as I looked into the mirror. I just woke up and I decided to take a shower early in the morning.
I had a bruise on my cheek where dad hit me last night because he was drunk. He was always been the type to hit someone when he was drunk. He used to have problems managing his anger issues when he was young that grandma enrolled him in an anger management program or class.
It worked but whenever dad would be drunk, it was still his hobby to hit someone and I hated how mom endured everything until now.
I searched for clothes to wear and suddenly thought of that weird and annoying guy. Hanging out was getting boring so I decided to attend school that day.
