A loud pop woke Owen from a sound sleep. He shot out of bed and bolted into the passageway barefoot wearing only a pair of jeans. Heart pumping, he looked both ways trying to figure out where the noise had come from. It was too loud to have come from a g*n. Several doors down, Claire poked her head out. “What was that?” “Don"t know,” he said, starting toward her. “Make sure everyone stays put "til I find out.” He trotted down the passageway and went out into the thick, laden mist blanketing the boat. Crewmen ran back and forth, radios in hand and looking down at the water over the port bulwark rails.
