Even though I wanted to beat Kiara's ex for hurting her and scaring her half to death, I was excited to get home. Finally, she was in my bed again, and I couldn't wait to sleep next to her.
Time seemed to be going by slowly because every time I looked at my phone, a minute or two would go by.
"Hey, boss," I heard one of the men say.
I looked up and saw Jeb walking my way. "What's up," I said as I put my phone away. I had an hour left then I could climb in bed and hold her again.
"Curtis just called and said he found three of the pregnant heifers were found dead."
"Your joking?" I said as I looked at him.
"I'm not. He said it looks bad. Blood everywhere."
"Okay. Which field?" I asked as I pulled my car keys out of my front left pocket.
