“The rogues are locked up, right? And they are cooperating with us now. If they lead us to their lair, it will be easier to ruin their plans before they get to carry them out,” Mira pointed out.
She was correct, but what if we were duped? Can we genuinely put our trust in them? What if they lead us to an ambush, destroying us altogether?
“Mind linking is impossible while locked up. They don't have a way to contact this new self-declared king. So what harm can they cause us?” Mira responded to my thoughts.
I took several breaths to calm my erratic heart. Yeah. I was probably overthinking it.
“Is something wrong?” Theo asked, his forehead suddenly wrinkling into a frown. He must have seen the shift in my demeanour. Or could he have felt my unease?
I shook my head and smil
