BETRAYAL

1282 Words
“I swear, it’s not what it looks like.” exclaimed my mate as I heard his heart racing. I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying his story. “Fine! Explain, then!” I shot back, in a voice a mix of disbelief and frustration. I took a deep breath, glancing at the two I had just caught red-handed again. I had just walked into my fate mate's office to bring him lunch and caught his alleged God-sister sitting on his lap. My fate mate was the Beta of the Blood Moon Pack. He was a notorious playboy who promised if I gave him a chance, I would never regret it. We met at an Annual Mating Ball. My family didn’t want me to be with him due to his past. However, I was in love and believed everyone deserved a chance. So, I went against my family to be with him. That was three years ago. We were happy up till his supposed God-sister graduated from boarding school abroad and returned to live in our pack. Elena was the daughter of the deceased former Beta Clayton of the Blue Mountain Pack, who died during an rogue attack years ago, saving my mate. Since then, he has felt it was his duty to take care of her. Also, he finds it extremely hard to set boundaries and to say no to her. She is a conniving, manipulative, spoiled brat. She loves to play the helpless victim role, and he falls for it every time. “She lost her balance and almost fell as she walked over to my desk! I just caught her! It’s innocent! I swear to you!” he said as he removed her from his lap and stood up. “I am sorry! I am clumsy! Please don’t be mad again!” Elena said, pretending to cry. “Greyston Holt! I chose you over my family! I will not allow you to make a fool out of me! She needs to go back to her pack before I lose my s**t! My wolf will not tolerate another mishap!” I said, ignoring her fake crocodile tears and storming out. She had been here two months too long. The only thing that was preventing my wolf from not killing her was the fact I had never experienced any betrayal pains and Jayden, his wolf, seemed devoted to us. I was pissed. I had just spent the morning with my best friend, who happens to be the Luna of our pack, Katia Antonov. I had brought him back lunch from his favorite restaurant in town. I was hoping we could have a late quiet lunch together. They followed me through the packhouse, begging for me to understand and not to believe the worst. They were causing a scene, especially with her fake tears. I refused to stop to entertain them and kept going to our suite. I was fed up. I opened the door to our place and I smelled her in our suite. I had clearly forbidden him to allow her into our suite after my family’s heirloom earrings went missing, and I found them in her ears two days later. She claimed to have borrowed them but forgot to ask permission. Everyone knew I had been searching everywhere for them and was heartsick over them possibly being lost. “What the hell, Greyston Holt? Why do I smell her in our home?” I shouted at him. “She…. She…. She had trouble sleeping last night, and she stopped by after you left! She looked so exhausted! I didn’t see the harm in letting her stay for a little while! Please calm down!” he said to me as Alpha Sasha Antonov walked in with Luna Katia. “What is going on here? Why do I hear all this yelling?” demanded Alpha Sasha, looking at the three of us. “Why is she even in your place?” asked Luna Katia, giving Elena a dirty look. She, too, saw through her helpless and innocent act. “Exactly! All I know is I went to take him…. his lunch that I stood in line to get him and I found her sitting on his lap when I entered his office. Now, I walk into our home and find her damn scent in here. When everyone knows, I have barred the thief from coming to our home. Ms. Sticky Fingers has no business in our place. She took my grandmother’s earrings and gave away her tea set. She knew I was looking for both and kept silent the whole damn time.” I shouted, furious with my mate as he looked at the floor looking stupid. He always took her side, wanting me to be the bigger person. Blaming her actions on being childish, immature and impulsive with no real malice involved. “We talked about this Grey! What are you doing, man!” asked Alpha Sasha, looking completely disappointed in my mate. “I know but…” said Greyston, as I walked away into our bedroom, needing to be alone to think about what my next move should be in this situation. As soon as I walked into the bedroom, I spotted a red lace bra on the floor beside our bed. I smelled her in our bedroom as well. I remember storming over to pick up the bra and realizing two things. One the bra wasn’t mine, and it smelled like Elena. Cinnamon and apples. I turned and threw the bra at my Luna and shouted, “I am going to kill them!” as I saw red. The next thing I remember is waking up from being sedated in the pack hospital with a worried Luna by my side. She informed me that I had been asleep for a whole 24 hours. After, Alpha had no choice but to use the tranquilizer gun on me. I had refused to submit and stop attacking my mate and Elena. I badly injured both in my attack. However, Greyston had suffered the worst due to him using his body to shield her from me. Plus, he had refused to fight me back. The pack doctor, Stan, came in and examined me. I was informed that I was one month pregnant. I needed rest and no further excitement for the remainder of my pregnancy. Since I was pregnant, I realized I couldn’t reject my mate. I needed to at least try to work out our issues. I am a pure-blood Alpha female, so I am extremely territorial of my mate. He knew this about me. I blame him for all this trouble in our relationship. Alpha Sasha came in as I was leaving my hospital room and informed me that he had ordered Elena to leave. Once she is cleared by the pack doctor to leave the hospital. So, she should be gone in two days. He even apologized to me for everything. I apologized to him for losing my temper to the point I was unreasonable. Lastly, I was informed that Greyston had requested to share a room with Elena, not wanting her to wake up alone. Plus, he didn't want her to be sad and afraid. They both had at least two more days in the hospital needed to recover. I realized at that moment I was no longer his first priority; she was to him. So, I decided against my better judgment to go visit my mate for the sake of our unborn child. I didn’t expect to see or hear what I walked in on accompanied by my Alpha and Luna. THE END
