Fated Mate

1588 Words
It turns out that I was out for almost two weeks and just like I'd been praying, Beta Wyatt didn't seem to know my identity, or perhaps he had no aim to raise the topic but still, he was distant and cold whenever it came to me. Through Nancy, who was now a friend of mine, I discovered that we were currently in a villa of beta Wyatt which was located deep in the mountains and surrounded by the ocean. According to the rumors I heard, it seems that Beta Wyatt and his team were out in the mountains to search for something, but I have yet to find out what they were. The only information I knew was that Doctor Asher was also on the team. And he's not only a doctor but also a warrior also which was the reason he hopped on the search. "We're returning to the pack today; you can choose to come with us or…" Beta Wyatt says to me a week after my wake. "I'll come with you." I interrupted anxiously while nodding my head fiercely. "I'll come with you," I replied again. Wyatt ignored me and walked out of the villa. "We'll be leaving in thirty minutes. Hurry up." I heard him say, and I nodded my head quickly. I rushed into the villa to check my non-existent things and fixed myself up. Accompanying Nancy and the other maids, we went out of the villa a few minutes before the thirty minutes Beta Wyatt instructed. A private helicopter was in the villa's heliport and soon we took off. The heaviness in my heart dissipated a lot upon knowing that we were probably leaving for a pack that was far from Red Flame pack and Alpha Henry. 'Alpha Henry!' I clenched my fist with a firm revengeful gaze which I hid by lowering my head, 'I'll be back for you soon.' I silently declared. It took three days to arrive at our destination and the farther the pack was, the wider my smile. I stood up and stretched happily when it was announced that all passengers could alight. My heart began to thrum again in my chest due to nervousness and anxiety just like it had been doing the past few days. "You know I never know which pack you were from?" I began to chatter with Nancy while alighting the helicopter with her to suppress my chaotic emotions. I could feel the existence of happiness and nervousness rocking through me at the same time. I finally left the red flame pack for a faraway pack but with a lie that could swallow my existence once it was found, I hope I didn't make a bad choice. I don't know how friendly the pack members are. I can only pray that they are nice and friendly like Nancy and Asher because they were a big motivation when it comes to choosing to follow or not. "You came along without the fear that you'd be sold by us?" Nancy teased me playfully. I shrugged nonchalantly even though I knew she was right, but I never thought of this. Perhaps it was because I knew Beta Wyatt despite cold wouldn't do something shady to me. Besides, Asher doesn't seem like someone who'll invest his time doing something wicked. "I guess I trust you too much," I replied and she laughed. "Well." Nancy stopped in her tracks and bowed to me dramatically. "Welcome to the Power Axis pack." She revealed, which made my eyes widen in shock. "Pow. Power Axis pack? You're from the Power Axis pack?" I questioned with disbelief, fear, and mixed feelings running through me. I couldn't believe that I willingly entered the power axis pack, the biggest pack in the werewolf clan which is known for being controlled by Alpha Hudson. Who is Alpha Hudson? Alpha Hudson is the cruelest, most mysterious, and most eccentric Alpha to ever exist in the lineage of the wolf clan. Not only had no one seen Alpha Hudson's face. He was rumored to be a bald and potbellied ugly man who loved killing people who were more handsome than him. Not only that, all the women who were sold to him are rumored to die one way or the other in less than three days. Besides, he's feared as a killing machine. And he's famously known for mistreating his pack members. I shivered fearfully, sweat began to trickle down my skin and my leg almost gave way. How can I make such a reckless mistake? "What's wrong? Did you still feel sick?" Nancy suddenly touched my forehead which made me jolt in shock. I quickly shook my head, albeit nervously, "No. I'll be fine." I muttered a lie while clenching my fist hard, but will I truly be? Beta Wyatt strode toward us while Asher whizzed past us after blowing a kiss into the air. Wyatt stared at me coldly, "Come with me." He ordered in his cold voice. I bit my lips hard, conflicting. Right now, I wish I could run away from the trap I purposely walked into, but I know I can't. I couldn't help having mixed feelings as I dragged my feet behind Wyatt. Perhaps Wyatt knew I was lying all along and purposely pretended not to, so he could trick me into the Power Axis pack. Perhaps they'll finally kill me now. The more I think like this, the more chaotic my heartbeat is. I couldn't even focus on my surroundings. "What's wrong with you?" Wyatt glared at me coldly, which made me gulp in fear. Tears pooled in my eyes. "I… is it too late to leave now?" I questioned in a tiny voice. I swear that if he did let me leave, I'll scurry out of this place, never to look back. "Leave where?" Wyatt stared at me with a slight frown. My lips parted to explain myself, but before I could, a booming laughter filled the… uhm, we were currently in a passage that had a room facing each other. There were seven rooms on each side of the passage. "Wyatt, you're back so soon. I hope you pass your first assessment as the new beta of the power Axis pack." A handsome man in his forties asked with a gentle smile on his face. Beta Wyatt turned away from me and turned to the man, "Alpha Hudson." He bowed to the man. My eyes widened in disbelief. Didn't rumors claim that Alpha Hudson is a potbellied and ugly man, how come the Alpha Hudson I'm seeing is a very handsome man with a carefree smile on his face? "I told you not to call me Alpha anymore, it makes me feel as if I still carry the burden of the power Axis pack. Direct that title to Oswald." Alpha Hudson joked in a light-hearted manner. Wyatt bowed to Alpha Hudson, "My bad, Alpha King." He said. Alpha King Hudson nodded with satisfaction and turned to me, "Who is she? Your mate?" Alpha King Hudson asked with a grin, leaving me bewildered. All the rumors I heard, were they fake? How can Alpha King Hudson be this carefree handsome man? I quickly bowed to him while blushing furiously. How can he call Wyatt and me mate? Wyatt is so cold and scary. Although he's handsome, my heart skipped a beat for him due to fear only. Wyatt didn't glance at me, his face was calm as if he didn't hear Alpha King Hudson's words which made my expression switch to normal. "No, Alpha King. Maia is someone I saved at the mountain. I'll introduce her properly in the office." He replied calmly. Alpha King Hudson nodded his head calmly, opened the fourth door on the right side of the passage, and entered it. Beta Wyatt didn't glance at me and followed after Alpha King Hudson. I quickly followed after him. An agarwood scent drifted into my nose as soon as I stepped into the office. The scent wrapped around me from head to toe, making me more comfortable than I've ever been. I stared straight into the low-key monotone office and saw a handsome man in his twenties sitting on an expensive chair. A beautiful lady was also sitting next to him, their hands holding each other like a perfect couple. 'Mate.' My wolf declared upon landing at the man which made it feel as if everything in the room had frozen to accompany my mate and I only. Joyful emotions completely overwhelmed me, making me giddy with excitement. Finally, I've come across the mate I've been wishing for. "Alpha Oswald, Luna Lorelei. I'm back from the mission." Beta Wyatt says calmly with a bow, interrupting my processing and chaotic thoughts. Alpha Oswald nodded to Wyatt and stared back at my inquisitive gaze calmly. He has mismatched blue eyes at the right and black eyes at the left; a complex glint flickered past his eyes when our eyes became four. In that minute, Alpha Oswald and I knew we were fated mates. Even without touching him, pleasurable sparks were running through me, and I'm sure he must have been feeling the same thing. 'He's my mate. He's our mate,' Maia's words kept on resounding in my head until I finally understood the precarious situation I was in and I froze immediately. It turns out that Alpha Oswald, the current Alpha of the biggest pack, is my mate, and not only that he already has his Luna!
