I quickly dismissed the notion that Aidan had a conscience, scoffing internally. How could a devil ever have any conscience? The conversation between him and Cathy had been revealing. Was Cathy blackmailing him? But with what? And how exactly was she useless? There seemed to be layers of meaning behind Aidan's words, but lying next to him now, I knew one thing for sure.
