Chapter 10By the time Rachel got them back to the hotel, Johnny was exhausted. The last encounter with Benny and Albert had been draining enough, but dealing with the guilt and headaches of getting Paul to the hospital had finished him off. It wasn’t enough that he’d covered all of Paul’s medical expenses. That was the least he could do. Promising Paul a walk-on part on the show as well as hooking him up with appointments around LA to keep him from pressing charges was only a drop in the bucket of his overwhelming regret, too.
No, the heaviest weight around his heart was because of Ryan. Because of the look on Ryan’s face when he’d realized what Albert had done.
