Chapter 04: Please Be Mine Again

1145 Words
Morning came, and Randy felt cold while sleeping in his bed. The breeze of cold air is different when you live in a place surrounded by trees. The blanket wrapped around his slender body is futile. Unconsciously, he faced his right side, where there, he felt warmth. Randy thought that it was the pillow he used to sleep beside him, but he was wrong. It was Thorne who managed to sleep beside him during the whole night. Unbeknownst, Randy extended his arms and hugged the man beside him. Thorne was already awake. He woke up five in the morning, preparing a sumptuous meal for them two. He ran his fingers through Randy’s smooth copper hair. Thorne could not help but feel bad about himself, thinking that he lost a precious diamond while he was busy picking a stone. Thorne moved his head closer to Randy and kissed his hair. He could still smell the sweet scent of Randy that he loved to sniffle in the air whenever they were alone together. “Forgive me, my love,” Thorne whispered, shutting his eyes while tears swam away from his eyes. Suddenly, he felt Randy shivering. Willingly, he hugged back Randy, and there, they slept back once more. -- The loud snores crept inside his eardrums, causing Randy’s eyes to open slowly. He looked around, feeling strange about the pillow he thought he was hugging. He was frightened when he saw a bulky arm wrapped around his slender body. And there, the snore becomes more apparent to his ears. Glancing at the man sleeping beside him made Randy to gasp in shock. “Y-You j-jerk,” he stammered, swallowing a lump on his throat. Not to lie, but he felt safe around Thorne’s arms. The arms that once secured him when his nights were rough and vague, and the arms he used to cling on, expressing how much he loved the man. But… all of it was just a reminisce. A reminisce of their past that has ended long ago. Randy clicked his tongue, removing Thorne’s arm on top of his body. “Get off of me, you jerk,” irritation is audible in his tone. Thorne awakened from his slumber when he heard Randy calling him “jerk” “Huh?” in an instant, Thorne wiped the side of his mouth, focusing his gaze on his loved one, Randy. There, he saw how Randy’s eyes stared at him furiously as if it was piercing his soul. “W-Woah. G-Good morning, my l-love,” he greeted, but he received an eye roll and a snort of anger from Randy. “How did you get inside my room? Why are you sleeping beside me? Who told you that you could come near me? Didn’t I make myself clear last night?” Randy bombarded him with questions, rising from the bed as he sat, crossing his arms. Thorne scoffed. “W-Why I —” “Leave,” he cut his words. Thorne sat on the bed, shaking his head in response. “No,” he said firmly. “I won’t leave without you,” he added. Randy scoffed. “You are unbelievable, Thorne,” “Do I look like an Artificial Intelligence to you? Why am I unbelievable?” he asked in an innocent tone, joking as he tried to make Randy laugh. But for Randy, he sounded like he was philosophically answering him. “If you don’t stop pestering me, I will call the police,” Randy threatened, making a serious face as he communicated with Thorne. “Really?” his ex-boyfriend answered and was about to burst into laughter as soon as he heard the threat from Randy. “I’m serious. I’m not joking, Thorne. Your face disgusts me,” said Randy, stepping out from the bed. He was about to take a step further away from Thorne, but a hand grabbed his right wrist, preventing him from walking more. “My love,” he called. “Please, don’t push me away,” he begged. Thorne glanced heavenwards, sniffling as he narrowed his eyes back on Randy. “I-It hurts,” and there, he breaks down in tears. Thorne all along tried to hide his pain either by making a face or joking as he spoke, but deep inside, Randy’s words cut like a knife through his heart whenever he attempted to shoo him away. “A life without you is not worth living. It’s miserable and… sad. I can’t fall in love without you,” Thorne cried. Randy fell silent, sensing the man’s sincerity in front of him, crying, confessing about his true feelings. But his mind says that it was all a show — an acting to be exact. And as a defense mechanism, he pulled his hand back. “Save your tears for another day,” he left Thorne empty-handed with tears swelling on the corners of his eyes of the man he used to love. Randy exited his bedroom, shutting the door closed as he let out a heavy sigh. As he focused himself straight forward, he gasped, followed by crossing his brows. ‘Who made this?’ he asked himself as he came near the dining table. Randy examined the food like the food tech he was. The chocolate coffee is surprisingly still hot even if hours have passed since Thorne prepared it. Randy’s favorite fried rice and shawarma are presented on the table for two. The door of his bedroom creaked open. He looked at the man who opened it. Red bloodshot eyes with tears streaming down his face greeted Randy in surprise. Never in his life saw Thorne crying. The man is used to make other people cry, but now, the tables have turned. Guess karma bites Thorne in the ass real hard. “M-My love,” wiping his tears as he sniffled. Randy is on the verge of comforting Thorne with his warm hugs and kisses, but a part of his mind tells him no. “I-I,” Thorne let out a frustrated sigh as he glanced to the ceiling. He came close to Randy and kneeled in front of him. “F-Forgive me, p-please. M-My life has been a sham since you left me,” “Oh, so you’re blaming me for your own behavior?” “All I’m saying is that… please be mine again,” “You’re asking too much, Thorne,” with bitterness, Randy said. Thorne scoffed, hugging Randy’s knees, begging for one more chance. “M-My love, please? I-I’m a mess. I’m a jerk. But only in your arms, I feel right. F-Five years of torture without your love is hell for me already. P-Please, d-do it f-for the sake of our son, R-Randorne,” It feels like being hit by a bus, causing Randy to shudder in fear. “W-Where i-is he?”
