Chapter One- Saviour
Running through the thick forest, the young women tripped over some roots that stuck out of the ground, tears going down her face as she heard the end of her dress rip. Her clothes were already torn enough, she didn't need nor wanted anymore cold air hitting her skin.
It was his fault, that damned bastard she used to call her boyfriend. Another argument, another attempt for her to leave. She could still feel a slight sting on her check, a large brush showing against her ivory completion.
She had enough, she was done, finished. She wouldn't accept him back into her life, no more. If she saw him again, she didn't know what she'd do. She continued to run through the trees, starled when a golden light passed in front of her face before going to the sky. Pausing to catch her breath, she looked for the golden light, but when she heard a twig snap she took off again, scared.
She stumbled as her feet found flat ground, when she looked in front of her, she froze. She was on the road and there was a car coming at her. She didn't know if she would be able to get away in time or even get up in time to avoid getting hit. So, she closed her eyes and tensed, waiting for the impact.
But it never came.
Opening her eyes, she saw she was on the side of the road. Unharmed, but how? No one could have pushed her away in time. Looking next to her she saw a figure, one who crouched down when they saw that the women was moving.
"Are you okay? That was really close, Karma," a light voice said, concern was clear in their tone. Karma paused when she heard her name and when she looked, she saw it was another female. A rather well-dressed women with a curvaceous figure and straight shoulder length brown hair.
"I'm fine," Karma said while she looked at her knees, which were covered in starches and brushes, along with the rest of her leg. She felt like a wild creature when compared to the women next to her, with her messy black hair and ripped light blue dress. "But how did you know my name?"
"I've seen you in town before and heard you talking to some people," she said with a small laugh. "My names Paisley, by the way. I'm glad you're okay." Paisley looked at small figure next to her, offering her hand to help the other female up. "We should get you home, before you catch a cold or get a fever."
Karma just nodded, dusting herself off. Upon looking at herself, she saw how much mud she was covered in. How ribbed her dress was and how many bruises and scratches she got from her little run in the woods.
"Lead the way," Paisley softly responded. Karma just nodded and walked to her house, the brunette walking besides her, humming a lullaby softly. Karma felt a lot calmer, which she would have found odd, if the women did look/feel familiar and her calming aura.
Paisley noticed that the other was shivering and was ribbing her arms in an attempt to stay warm, removing her jacket and draping it over the younger women's shoulders. Karma's checks went a soft pink, while muttered her thanks.
The brunette smiled her, finding the sight cute. "Don't worry about it," she stated softly. Looking at the street ahead, while Karma smiled when saw her house in the middle of the next street.
"This is my place," Karma said pointing to a small white house. The two walked to the front door, while Karma tried to find her keys in her purse that was resting across her torso. Unlocking the door and opening it, she waited for Paisley to go through first. Checks going a darker pink as she whispered "you can come in you want to."
"Don't worry about it," Paisley told Karma, a small smile on her face. "I'll be on my way. You need to rest, Karma, make sure you get some sleep."
The blue eyed raven nodded, while picking up some a pen and paper, writing a bunch of numbers on it, while handing it to Paisley. "This is my cell phone number. If you want to come over or just hang out, just call me, okay?"
"I'll leave you to rest," Paisley told her, her smile growing and her light green eyes light up. "Good night, Karma, till next time."
Karma watched as the other walked down her block, before quickly locking her door. She didn't need her ex coming, not now, when she was alone. She planned to take a quick bath, when she noticed that she still had Paisley's jacket, planning to return in when the women called, she carefully hanged it up with her clothes.

Lying in bed after her bath. Karma tried to sleep, but with no luck. All she could think about was Paisley and what happened. The car wouldn't have stopped in time, that she was sure of, so anyone who could've pushed her out of the way, would've got hit instead. This meant that either Paisley was fast or lucky, but something still didn't add up in her mind.
She looked out the window as she tried to go to sleep, but a golden light caught her eye. Like the one before she meet Paisley. Closing her eyes, she thought about the kind stranger while letting herself drift off.
Her last thoughts were on the women. She sighed as it seemed she couldn't think of anything else and carefully she spoke, no louder than a whisper. "Just who and what are you, Paisley?"
