Training

I don’t know how long I spent there reading the first book. It was more than I hoped for and it gave me so much. Even after reading it for the first time, I understood my witch side so much more. The whole thing was written like one big diary. The girl wrote all of the things her covenant witches told her and she even added some of her own insight. From what she wrote, the girl seemed like a great person, funny as hell and really smart and also so talented. The book was so interesting that I completely lost track of time, so when Damian came looking for me, he found me on the ground in the same position with my nose buried in that book. “So I see you like it?” I jumped a little when I heard his voice. It was rare that someone surprised me like this. My hearing usually prevents that, but I guess I was too concentrated on the book. “Yes, it is so awesome. It has a lot of information and things I need to practice. What would I have given to have this book when I was younger..." There was a flash of sadness on his face when he heard me say that, but it was gone the next moment. Gods, this man had a lot of talent at hiding his emotions. “Great, you can do it later or tomorrow. Because now it is time for your other training.” He extended his hand to pull me up and I accepted it. “Come on, I will show you the gym and the reinforced cellar I told you about earlier.” With his help, I got up and, with a painful heart, I pushed the book onto the table. Everything in me told me that I shouldn't leave it like that... "It's safe in here, no one will take it." I released a deep sigh and turned away from it, ignoring all of my instincts to hide it or take it with me. I left the book on the table and followed him. As we were walking, an uncomfortable silence sat between us. I had quite a few questions for him, but they either seemed intrusive or not my business... "Ask what you want already, I know you want to." “So you and Gabriel?” Damien chuckled at my clumsy question. “Don’t read too much into it. It is more like a business agreement than anything else. He lets me feed from him and I let him channel me as a power source. And f*****g each other is just a little bonus.” “Okay… so… are… do…” Damien laughed again at my mumbling. “If you are asking if I am gay, then no. After the years I lived on this earth, I don’t let something as silly as gender stop my good time. I’m more interested in the person than what is in his pants. With old age comes the realization that it is more important who the person is, especially when I feed from them. Do you know how many shallow dolls I fed from in the eighteen hundreds? I almost went mad. They were so dull... all they thought about was pretty dresses and hairdos. A few had an interest in gossip, but that was the best I got. From then, I promised myself that quality was more important than quality. So now I refuse to drink anything as dumb or dull as those girls were." I was a bit shocked by all the honesty, but I nodded. “Well, that's good to know, but what I wanted to ask is how you got the books. Were they Gabriels? Because I am quite sure that the person writing them is a girl." He stopped for a moment and started to laugh again. “You, my dear, are the most peculiar creature I ever met. The books are about a girl I once loved, but it was a long time ago. So don’t worry your pretty little head about it.” I wanted to ask more, but we reached our destinations. We stood in front of two identical doors. He first pointed to the one on the right. “This is the room in which you can play with your witchcraft and not burn the whole house down. And this is where we will play together.” He pointed to the other door and walked to open it. The place was once again a huge one. One side of the room had a few high-tech workout machines I saw in our packs gym. It wasn't in the conman one, but the one alpha used personally, but these seemed higher quality and better kept. And on the other side of the room, there was a wall of mirrors and just an empty space, with thick carpets covering the ground. “First we will see what you can do and then we will plan how to improve it. Sounds good?” I nodded and walked after him to the empty space. “So now I want you to attack me. Don't be shy and don’t be afraid to hurt me. Even though I am very old, it takes a lot to hurt me.” He stopped in the middle of the room and turned to me. Okay… I can do this. I had some training in the pack, but as most of them hated me, so they used this time to beat the s**t out of me. I guess this was better because at least he didn’t want me to die. I circled him a few times, but he stood there not moving, not getting into any type of stance. He just stood there relaxed and maybe a bit bored. I circled him another time and decided to take my chance, but as soon as I made an attempt to move, he was behind me. Both of my hands were captured in one of his, so I was completely immobilized. "Got you." He whispered into my ear... and the rumbling vibration from his chest went straight to my lower body. Shir, I will f*****g need to change my panties because of this. "You should be more decisive and not waste time. Trust yourself more and attack fast. Your best chance is a surprise attack. Well, at least until you learn to control your power, and, even then, you need to learn how to protect yourself in time of need." I nodded, he was right. "Okay, let's try again." He released my hands and returned to the center again.
