Depressing faded brown wallpaper covered the walls. There was a pattern hidden in there somewhere, but it all looked so old and long past decades when that wallpaper was manufactured to identify it. The single bed masquerading as a double had a mattress, so finished it dipped in the center like a valley. The red blanket covering the bed was almost threadbare and held suspicious stains.
