Nadiya stared at the shopping bags piled together at the foot of the bed. There were at least more than a dozen and appeared to be from different stores and boutiques, judging by the different bags’ colors and sizes. Someone must have walked in and left them while she was asleep, she realized. It was already midmorning according to the clock on the bedside table. Nadiya frowned.
