I climbed into the ambulance, ignoring anything else. My mate was limp in my arms, and I had to make sure she was safe. The paramedics started working on her, inserting an IV into her forearm, and checking her vitals.
“She is exhausted, she has been through a lot…” One of the medics said and I nodded.
“You might want to check her back… she has been lashed.” I said and he slowly nodded. One of them set her on her side while the other started disinfecting her back. It was important to keep any kind of infection away from her body. She is weak, and even the slightest infection can be a serious thing under her circumstances.
