Winston wanted to go into Bandon again to check the place out. They went earlier and filled the trailer with insulation and installed it in Paula’s home. Grandpa gave permission for him and Travis to take the car and trailer again.
Winston felt like a kid at Christmas time, which made him ask, “When’s Christmas?”
Joy said, “In three weeks. On Wednesday.”
Grandpa said, “I don’t feel like celebrating. Nothing to celebrate.”
“Well, maybe we can still have a special meal? We’re all a family now.” Joy scrunched her face like she was asking too much.
Grandpa smiled. “I can go for that. What do you want?”
“Turkey? I can make cranberry sauce from the cranberries we got from Paula. I’ll use stevia from the greenhouse to sweeten it. Maybe add just a touch of mint and some blueberri
