I quickly tapped out a message to Amelia, my fingers moving swiftly across the screen. She had just left the car after I told her I had an urgent call from the human world. She had to be on time for her twin brother's wedding. I didn’t.
"Hey, Amelia, I'll be right back. I just need to check on a few things before joining you in the hall." I typed fast, though it was a lie.
