Vanessa’s POV I entered my apartment, a sense of unease creeping over me, prickling at the back of my neck like unseen fingers. Despite the silence of the empty space, my instincts screamed that I wasn't alone. With cautious steps, I placed my bag on the table, keeping my senses alert for any signs of intrusion. I flicked on the lights, half-expecting to be greeted by a lurking figure or a sudden attack, but the room remained still and empty. Frowning, I scanned the shadows, my muscles tense with anticipation. I inhaled deeply, searching for any unfamiliar scents that might betray the presence of an intruder, but the air was devoid of anything out of the ordinary. Spark was asleep.
